I'm one of those pretty much just starting out. I admit this whole thing has knocked me off my moorings. Instead of casually searching around and deciding to buy something I want at a reasonable price, I'm feeling a sense of urgency, pretty much an anxiety, about stocking up on stuff. No joy in the hunt, now.

I'm having a hard time figuring out just what I should be focusing on with a fairly limited budget that was hit hard last week by a $4,200 bill to replace water and sewer lines at my house. Yeah, real life gets in the way.

I just got sample flavors, 250ml of 100mg nic, and 500ml each of pg and vg last week. Haven't even had the chance or inclination to experiment with it yet. Also, rolled my first coil on a Kayfun 2.1 and found it an unpleasant but doable chore.

I have 10 mods, though six are enclosed battery eLeafs. In addition, I have 2 Provari, 1 Evic VTC Mini and a $9.95 Zmax. I've been shopping and buying cheap (even the Provaris are blems that I got for a great price).

I just can't quite yet wrap my head around what I need to buy to feel safe if the worst parts of these regulations hold up. I know Nic is a biggie, but I'm not sure how much I need. And, a litre of 100mg nic at Nude Nic is $105. That hurts.
I'm undecided also. I love using Ti I tried subohming again with Kanthal not my cup of tea. I just like the smooth rich flavor with Ti so that means have to have TC mods. What I have found is the VTCmini does an excellent job and so does the RX200 so I think the 200s will be better but having to use 3 batteries is a bit much when you have to keep them matched up. Advice get clothed nic. Cheaper. IDK how long the boards will last which makes it difficult to know how many extras I need when I don't know how long I will last. Same problem with nic I use between 3 and someimes 6mg. I have 1 liter at 3mg that is enough for 33,300 ml of juice. Flavors I have covered, attys covered with all the spare parts. I have 2 SXmini M's and 2 VTCminis unused plus 4 SX's an RX200 and a VTCmini that I use daily and 2 Provari 2.5's for real emergencies. Oh plus a TC40 which isn't very good for TC. I'm expection a lot of emails with sales they seem to be coming in pretty regularly.

Evolv just announced their 75 watt TC board. Even works w/ just 1x 18650 batt. I'd think prebuilt mods will be showing up soon.

Take a look at the Subtank Mini or the TopTank version of it. The rebuildable deck that comes with it is about the easiest to setup I have ever seen. Very easy to tighten down the leads and get the cotton set right. I have much better luck with it that a KayFun style atty.

I would also look at the possibility of a quality Mech mod but you will have to ask around for what is quality these days as I am a bit out of the loop. You will have to learn a little bit about battery safety to go with using a rebuildable on a mech but there are many to teach you. I can if no one else steps forward.
Advice I would stay away from the toptank version because it doesn't have a juice control to shut it off. IDK for sure if it leaks or not but the Subtank mini is all I use. I have 12 of them and enough parts to rebuild if I have to. Excellent atty and easy.

Most of my mods will not run Ti. I only have the one mod that is TC. So the vast majority of mine are kanthal builds.
Yeah the Ti doesn't give you the same effect anyway have to use Kanthal for that. It's just subohm because it has such little resistance. I run about .3 ohms but it's a cooler vape and no clouds.

A joke when you said the price of naked or nude nic. That is a good price at ecigexpress. Plus for me it comes in 50/50 which makes my life easier same way I like to buy VG/PG.
Lordy. I'm not playing with a full deck today..lol. Clothed nic. Duh. I would actually be OK with 50/50, but are there any concerns with stocking it long term in that configuration? I've been told that 100% PG is best for keeping in the freezer. I don't know if that's true, though. I like a 70/30 VG mix in my juices. Is the ecigexpress nic pretty much tasteless? I keep reading warnings about some nics tasting peppery.

Will you adopt me. Yikes! Nice collection. :thumb:
Thank you, and yes :).

I bought several of my setups on the classies and on ProVape's specials page. I have more than I need. Some stuff will be PIF'd; I can't stand the thought of a smoker being unable to source a decent mod. It's just wrong, on so many levels.

I'm not too worried about this. The FDA regs do not apply to fasttech or any of the other overseas companies. They apply to domestic retailers and manufacturers. As far as being able to get our hands on equipment, I don't really see a problem. Also, VG, PG, flavors, batteries, wire, wick... those are all safe from regulation. None of those things are "vape specific". Nicotine solution is questionable... I don't know if that will still be available to consumers or not. Is there another market for it, other than vaping?
Sadly, darlin', the regs do apply. Enforcement won't be easy, but is a distinct possibility. Write to your elected representatives and to anyone else you can think of. Our best short-term hope is passage of the appropriations bill. Longer term, I think the court system will be the final arbiter.

Mike, PG has anti microbial properties and, to our knowledge, is best suited for Nic suspension over the long haul. We should be able to get PG and VG to make juice. Don't let your preference for 30/70 (pg/VG) influence your decision; mixing something vapeable isn't hard.

I think if you heated Ti up like a subohm Kanthal build it would turn all different shades and explode and you would get a mouthfull of TiO2. Not good.

I'm not sure about their nic I usually only get it in fact always get it from Myfreedomsmokes. As far as keeping it everyone says its better in PG but for me it's easier in 50/50 thats what I vape and I pay a little more to get my VG?PG from ecx in 50/50 and my flavorings only take 3% max so it makes it really easy. I don't like mixing juice.

I have to take what they say about the nic as true but IDK for sure I am using some VG/PG that has been at room temp for over a year and it's just fine my nic I keep in the freezer and I am working on bottles that have been in there for 2 years and at room temp for 4 months and it is just fine. It does change colors but no flavor difference. It changes color at room temp and I take 100ml out at a time. It gets kind of orange but like I say no flavor at all well other then nic because nic does change the way juice tastes. Thats why I went back to 3mg from 0mg it tasted better.

For starting out you're not in a bad position mod wise. If each Eleaf lasts only a year - you've got a number of years before they all expire. (I got is iSticks too in our stockpile)

The Provaris will last a long time. Some of ours are approaching 5 year of use and still working well.

I'd suggest though a couple more replaceable batt mods though.

Don't know which brand/ model Zmax you have but our Sigelie (sp?) full & mini are decent mods.

You can get less expensive nic that's still decent for less $ than Nude Nic

If I were you I'd focus on finding an Rta style you're comfortable building. Then get a few & spare tanks/parts.

The KFL isn't that hard to rebuild. What kind of problems frustrated you. It does get easier w/ each attempt.
My frustration mainly was trying to hold the coil/mandral on the head while trying to wrap the wire around the screw then tightening it down. My hands are not steady for that kind of work. The Zmax is the Sigelei v3. It's extendable for different battery sizes. I'm not giving up on the KFL. I did manage to get the coil working and will practice to find a way that works for me. I do love the flavor.

Subtank Mini and TopTank version by Kanger? They seem to be everywhere. I was watching a review last night from a person who actually preferred the mini. I don't mind small-volume tanks since I do most of my vaping at home and have easy access to refills. Is one or the other easier to rebuild?

I have no idea about mech mods.
Ecigexpress, currently less than $50 for a liter of 100 mg nic. Doesn't hurt as much! Haven't checked MyFreedomSmokes recently, but usually about the same.
Much better price. I'm assuming you've tried it and found the taste OK?

ETA: Checked myfreedomsmokes. One liter of 100mg is $50.

Oh also about the Subtank mini it is the best one I've used for TC also. plus works good with Kanthal.

Yeah $39.99 at ECX I have a wholesale acct there so I don't get charged sales tax. Also we are planning to make our yearly trek to my MIL's place and shipping to there is half what it is to here. Only 50 miles away.
