I saw a station yesterday with $2.04 for gas . I'm about 30 miles north of Tampa. I had no idea that cartons were going for that much. I think down here they are more like $50-55. And every gas shop and go has loads of e-cigs, e-juice and everything. I hope big tobacco is .....ting in their pants.

As far as lemos and those build your own things, I'm real happy with my itazte VV, it gives me an ohm reading which is cool. I just discovered for me that the aspire mini tanks like a CE-5 is superior to the Kanger mini pro I have. So no fussing, very easy. I had mods but started having big trouble with batteries that were slightly off size and wouldn't fit, or mod boxes that were made way too tight and just sold it all and kindof stick with what I have now.

We saw gas here for 1.93 and we have one of the highest gas taxes in the country. That means its got to be 1.80 or less in Idaho. Cigarettes are at least 80 here but also close to a res in Idaho 20 there.

When you pull the previous wick, either clip one end and pull from the other, or pull from both ends. This will help prevent you from deforming the coil. When you dry-burn, make sure and inspect the coil to see if it starts glowing from the center out. If any place lights up brightly, you have a hot-spot, and need to replace the coil.

I placed that FT order. Trimmed it down a bit, and some items are restocking, but to get it shipped before the holiday, I figured it would be best to go ahead and order now. Sometimes there are surprises.

Or you have deformed it when taking the wick out. I just put the drill bit back in and straighten it out and give it a couple of squeezes with the tweezes.

All well and good, but the number of The Beast is 24 :)

Legs is from this part of the country, he ought to know that!

Only problem is the other teams have his number also. But if he gets loose he's gone. I think we are going to the SB again GB quarterback is kinda bunged up. They really kicked .... in the second half Saturday didn't they. I think they just use the 1st half as a warm up.

I got a LOT of people interested in vaping just by using a simple EGO battery. I have this theory that if you
1) purchase a bunch of $12 to $16 EGO batteries with the atomizer included
2) get a bunch of 5ml bottles
3) get 2 high-rated non-tobacco flavors
4) put 1 each flavor in the bottles and tape them to the device.
5) SELL them as a package for just what the starter EGO costs
...
people think that if they paid for it, they should try using it.
most of the people I converted to vaping from smoking were like this. I kept a small bag with the devices taped with the 2 flavors, and enough dollars to make change for $20.
I would buy 15 at a time and sometimes would have to order again the next day because they all went.

Ya... these people be crazy eager to help each other. :D

Ken- Thanks for the great idea and sorry for the late reply. I will definitely use your idea as part of my "sales-pitch" but I don't know that I will sell them. I heartily agree that people will be more apt to use something if they pay their hard-earned $$ for it but I live on a military base and while I "could" sell stuff I would much rather just avoid any hassle associated with selling anything on base. If everything is given away I can skate clear of any possible selling-drama.

I love the package idea though. Thanks!

Yep, $70 a carton here in PA. They put a tax on everything here. Which is one reason gas will never go below $2 a gallon but will go over $5 when the price goes back up.

Did you all see where the Gubmint is thinking about raising the gas tax. Say they're not getting enough income now that the price has gone down. Problem is that they won't take it off when the price goes back up.

That's what I get for going to be early, Mike beat me to it. Again.

Yepper, vapor and / or flavor will start to fall off, but that's also an indication of merely a gunked coil.

If you don't deform or otherwise break it when cleaning / un- and re- wicking, don't over power the poor little thing by hitting it with massive watts and actually burn it out (so it won't be seen as a coil, just an open circuit), months isn't out of the question.

Smaller gauges are more susceptible to short life. Easier to deform, easier to burn out. But heat and cool faster than heavy gauge coils.

Numerous times, always happy with the products and service. Never had to deal with any problems with them.

With a good dry burn and cleaning when rewicking a well made coil can last a looooong time. I've had one that's been in one of my kfl for over 3 months.

Well I hear the HCigar is the best clone of the V4 but not available in the states yet.. Now I'm thinking more of getting a couple of the Kangers. I have 1 25mm but they are very steady with an NI200 build on them.

Legs - where did you see/read about the HCigar clone. I've only seen 1 recommendation from someone that had a few of the clones and he said the Tobecco was the best of 'em and pretty good too.

And one other clue about when to recoil. They'll all slowly go up in resistance, so when it gets to your max value, it's time.

Hey folks. Thanks for the great responses to my questions about beginner kits. Apologies for the tardiness of my reply. The weather's been so nice here I haven't been spending too much time inside.

I have plenty of super ideas for my kits and I should be putting up my initial list for you all to check before I pull the trigger.

I did contact some "somewhat" local B&M's and they were amenable to giving a discount and some free juices for my project so also, thanks very much for that idea!

I would think they should be. After all it broadens the customer base with very little work on their part.
How have you been my brother from a different mother? Sounds like the fun lamp has been lit.

I agree. I've had a coil in one of my tugboats since at least September. Granted I don't use that coil everyday, but starting out it was the only coil I had that I knew worked (mostly because someone built it for me...) so it was put through it's paces. I would SWAG that it's probably burned through over 200 ml of juice.

Regular cleaning and rewicking does much towards extending a coil's life.

If I missed it, apologies, but do you dry burn only or do you dry burn and rinse in water?

On some of the forum on the other side of the pond. It's supposedly uses 316SS which isn't a big deal and the ones that are for sale in London no Logo. The reason you haven't heard much about them is no one has them in the states yet.Go to vapegeek.co.uk

I dry burn then brush it if with a acid brush that I cut down so it's a little stiffer than normal. Very lightly brush if there are any spots that won't just blow off with a hard breath. You can even get a few bristles into the interior of the coil if you are careful to remove any interior junk. I rinse it before dry burning to get the excess juice off before starting the whole process. Rinses the juice out of the wick before I CAREFULLY trim it short as close to the coil as I can, so I can try to avoid messing up the coil as I remove the wick. Then I rinse it again to get any wick fibers and excess juice off. Blow off the excess water and blow through the air holes to clear them. I then burn it at around 20 watts. Let it get good and red but not so hot as to melt the leads. Most of the time a small fire ensues as the crapola burns off. Let the fire go out on its own then let the coil cools as I blow off the ash. Then if needed, lightly, VERY lightly brush off any caked on junk. Repeat the process until I am satisfied with the cleanliness of the coil. Check during the process that the coil is heating properly from the center out with no hot spots. Once satisfied let it cool and re-wick as if it was a new coil, after all it really is.
Using this process I can get a coil to last a long time. 2 or 3 months is not unusual.

For those that don't know, an acid brush is just a cheap small paintbrush with a metal tube as a handle. Used to apply Flux in soldering plumbing fittings and sometimes to clean electronic circuit boards. Used them all the time while I was in the Navy. Really nice thing is they are cheap, I can buy 50 at the home center for around 5 bucks.
