Welcome to the Porches, Bob!

You seem awfully good-natured about your wife making your stuff 'disappear'. I think I would have threatened to make some of her stuff disappear (especially any of HER crutches). But, I'm not the one that's still married.

Deb, just click on the post number to get the address of the specific post in the address bar of your browser. Then you can save that address however you want.

oh kewl.......thanks!! I never could find it again, but I was thinking it saved it somewhere on ecf. hehehe, yeah I'm with you, I wouldn't have been so good natured about it, but again, probably why I'm not married either!

My take on the vaping "Scene" is that it's a lot like fishing, or golf, or a lot of other hobbies we enjoy. We can have a perfectly satisfying experience with cheap, off the shelf equipment (A basic Zebco rod/reel, second hand clubs, simple eGo/16b setup) or we can get as complicated as we like (Custom golf clubs/fly rods, hand tied flies, one off mods, DIY coils/juices) I really don't know how far I want to go in that direction, but I get the best gear I can afford, and the vape shop near my house does custom blends for me I'm STILL tobacco free, with all the health improvements that come with it. I think I'll hang on to my "Crutch" The alternative was killing me.

Hi Bob, welcome to the porch! I'm also in my early 50s, but no one has kicked me out yet :)

You might be surprised, but the best equipment is often not the most expensive (there's a lot of debate on this, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it). There are a lot of "high end, US-made, authentic" devices in the 100 and up range, but there are also hundreds of Chinese produced clones, fakes, and original designs that vary in quality from really terrible to some of the best devices around. The key is to do your research and to understand that all Chinese manufacturers are not created equal. Some, like EHPro, YouDe, Tobeco, and Infinite produce consistently good products with good machining. Other no-name manufacturers produce junk and should be avoided. Fortunately, you've come to the right place! There are several forums on ECF that are dedicated to hardware, and plenty of discussion on almost everything you could ever want to buy. Plus, people chip in here from time to time with their latest discoveries, which is always damaging to your bank account.

Hellooooo out there!!!!!
My first post outside the New Members forum, and I thought I'd say "Hi" to all you nice people.
My name is Bob, and I've been Vaping since Nov. 2013 Don't know if I qualify as "Old" (I'm 52 this year) but after lurking for a while, this just seemed like a nice place to be.
I started smoking at 14, and for the last 10 years, or so was smoking 30-40 hand rolled non filters a day. A co-worker, with an ITaste 134 mod got me interested in vaping, and I got an eGo style starter kit, not long after that. Two days later, I threw away my last bag of tobacco.
The starter kit morphed into a Gravity twist, and a Kanger PT2. Looking for a battery with USB charging/pass-thru capability got me an ITaste VV V3.0. A broken PT2 (The 510 threads on those are a SERIOUS weak spot) and I replaced it with an IClear X-I.
On my birthday, last year, My wife (Now she's after me to quit VAPING too) made my vape disappear. I suffered through the rest of the day, and the next day, after explaining the difference between vaping, and smoking, and flatly telling her that if/when I quit vaping is MY decision, not hers, I bought an ITaste MVP 2.0/IClear 30 kit (She still doesn't like it, calls it a crutch, but some choices we simply CAN'T make for other people, even the ones we love. I'd have gotten more than a few people off of booze/pills if that were the case)
This past Christmas, I bought an Aspire Nautilus to put on my MVP, which brings my hardware history (and some personal info) up to date.

Welcome to the porch Bob. Well you seem to be doing pretty good with your choices and vaping to stay off the smokes and that's what counts. Don't have to spend tons of $ or always get the latest-&-greatest. Yikes! I guess I'm pretty fortunate that my wife and I were both smokers and made the switch to vaping at the same time.

My Freedom Smokes has Kayfun Lite + clones on sake for $14 if anyone is interested.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

Whoa! Can't get much cheaper than that for a US vendor.

What ever happened to madvapes? The re-did their site a while back and since then it takes forever to load any page there.

Yep - it's quite slow loading for me all the time now, too.

And for your wife... Education is the key. I'm sure you both sit in the living room... Do a YouTube search on acsh.org
This is the American council on science and health. You will have many videos to watch, and her to hear. Mostly, you will be educating yourself and your wife on the true facts of vaping and how the government is trying to restrict your rights so they can charge sin taxes to bail themselves out. They don't think enough people vape yet and they can get away with it.

Welcome to The Porches! Congratulations on being smoke free, that's an accomplishment. Non-smokers just don't get it, but disappearing your vape? Nope!

OK Lemo recoiled, rewicked, New Oring on Chimney ,New seal so far so good. Hit a .19 at 410 20w. The true test will be when I have vaped it for awhile I will lay it on its side in the kitchen. Oh and only filled it half full when upside down. The Oring on the chimney was really thin.

My Freedom Smokes is really bad too. They have the Vision Eternity on sale for cheaper than FT. I've had my eye on it for a long time, so couldn't resist. But, the site is so bad that it makes my laptop fan go crazy trying to keep my computer from overheating.

Solution? I ordered it from my phone instead. Their mobile website works great!

You might try that for Mad Vapes too.

They also have the 26650 Stingray clone on sale for $9.49, which is really tempting, plus $3.58 for shipping. For $13.07 shipped, I had to get one.
