I do pretty much the same as everyone else, but I use distilled water as my tap water is yuck, followed with vodka.....can't buy everclear here.
I do the same as you but use a little vodka first and rinse with distilled. Our water looks more and more like sludge.
I used soap. I couldn't help myself, I had to! Do you all keep separate syringes that never gets used for anything but nic?
I use a 3ml syringe for nic and flavor, 30ml for PG and eyeball the VG. I do not clean my eyeball with vodka.
What are wire top bottles?
Needle top bottles?

Could have been worse, he could have married Joan Crawford.

Gary, didn't know about Joan Davis. Thanks! The things you learn on ECF.
Yup. I love lucy was funny IF... you never knew about I married Joan. Jim Backus played her husband and he was a judge. Lucy was funny. Joan was hilarious. Then again, Lucy was a great actress. Joan was a great actress "and" a comedian. No contest, IMHO.

IDK if this is much better, but I just get disposable pipettes (amazon) 3ml for my nic (it's VG-based, so the bigger bore is a little easier to draw) and they're graduated to 0.5 mL markings. 1mL pipettes (graduated to 0.25 mL) for my flavorings. I'm not overly .... about 1/10 or 1/100ml measurements. If I'm mixing a 15 mL bottle, and the measurement is 7%, I round to about 1mL flavoring. Still works very well for me.

Got 500 1mL pipettes last summer - 2014. Just ran out about a month ago and resupplied then. Still have 70+ of the 3mL pipettes.

Just goes to show dat different strokes fer different folks. Pipettes rank 'bout #3 on my list of Satan's vaping spawn.

Glad ya mastered 'em! If I had any left, I'd gladly ship 'em to ya.

I used to use the disposable pipettes, but remember having a to strain a little to read them. I know my eyes are even worse now, so unless they have improved the markings in the past 5 yrs I may not be able to use those. I just ordered syringes for my restart kit, had to get an extra 8.00 worth to get free shipping anyway.

Hey Dinger, seriously, whatever works fer folk is priceless, especially with DIY!

Given that flavor being da most important vaping factor along with proper hardware, any method/procedure dat enhances/facilitates DIY is a WINNER.

Pipette on, ya ol' piper!

I may end up doing that. Syringes are kinda fumbly. I'll find a way to do all this that works with my hands.

With my hands I have found that weighing is much, much easier. So far all of my flavors have dropper tops, if not I have a lot of small bottles I can transfer them into. I've had to do that on a couple where the adult-resistant caps worked a little too well.

I have my 100 mg nic in 125 ml bottles and I use one of those at a time to make up a batch of base just a little stronger than the highest nic level I want, and keep that base in ketchup type squeeze bottles. I use Hotrod's JuiceCalculator which has the correct weight adjustments for PG and VG, and mix right into the bottles.

Put bottle on scale, tare to 0, add correct amount of base and pg or vg to bring to an exact nic level if you want to be precise, tare to 0, drop in flavors, taring after each one, put the caps back on and you're done - except maybe wiping a couple of drops off of the scale.

Everything that I need for a set of juice making:

We all have our favorite methods of mixing and it boils down to whatever works for each of us.

That's why I ask my questions here. I can get a variety oof answers & get an idea of what will work for me within my limitations.

I added nic to my blueberry, & made a vanilla custard w/nic today. These are first diy steps for me, so thanks for the help guys!

I know how much you like your scale and how much it helps you, but it just occurred to me that I've heard anyone say they used to use a scale but went on to something else. A lot of people love them.

I googled up HotRods calculator but it's a PC program and we have Mac's. Do you know anything about this one such as is it also adjusted for the weight of PG and VG for it's calculations?

Janet's interested in trying mixing by weight now that she has an electronic kitchen scale similar to the one in your picture.

Congrats on your first DIY. It is the start of a long addiction or hobby. LOL

The 1 ml pipettes are also good for doing drops when you get a rebottled flavoring not in a dripper bottle.
