Apparently, the 'Shotgun' treatment is working. Trip's head tilt is better (actually holding it straight sometimes), his appetite is improving (he's just not interested in eating dry dog food), he's alert and responsive to commands, his balance, coordination, and weight are still a work in progress. I think his being home has been good medicine as well.
I'm sure it has. Things are looking up. Very happy for you and for Trip!
I think I'm gonna hide under the porch, if that's Ok.
We should have a hiding under the porch/in a closet hug-therapy group! I could really use it sometimes too!
Spent several months and several hundred dollars clearing up a $7,000 back tax bill from da IRS. Turned out to be an IRS clerical error...

Ooh, the IRS, scary! I'ld be sweatin'! So, are they going to reimburse you for what their clerical error cost you? o_O

Actually, I did claim and was allowed a $traight off da top deduction fer dat money fer dat year's (2008) Fed taxes. But my medication/additional 'bakky expenses didn't meet da min deductible amount...

Trip is a 3yo chocolate Lab and we're in Garland. Dogs banging around in my PU is a requirement, I think. It only happens every time I take one of my dogs some where.:)

Stop lights in Garland are converting to the 'Blinking Yellow Turn Arrow' (more Stupidproofing). The down side is there is no clue (that I've figured out) as to when it goes to Red!
Sorry I don't think my kayfun's would play pretty with a Reo. Just quessin'.;)
Actually Kayfuns play fine with a REO. It's just a mech mod with a squonk option. The 510 connection still works fine, it just has a little hole bored thru the center post to allow juice to come up into a BF dripper. But a tank still makes the right connection & works fine.

OK STOP IT!!!
First it was Trip having health problems. Just as he's getting squared away here comes the next crisis.

My G-son's infusion med provider sends us a $10.6K bill for services since Jan 15. I was so mad that I have spent a good part of the morning with his health care insurance getting to what happened. His infusion services and supplies have historically never cost me a cent. After getting the insurance story straight I called the infusion med provider get their story. The first words from their service reps mouth was 'throw the bill in the trash'. Turns out their new billing software decided to send out factious bills.
From Now On All Drama Has Been Cancelled!
I'd go ballistic! My infusions are pushing 14K each! I have to have a subsidy to even pay my copay on them, & need them 3x a year, but subsidy only covers 2x.

I own a couple of mechs but prefer a regulated mod

Well his are $7.6K and every two weeks. The insurance covers except when the med provider software goes stupid.
Next year will be 'interesting' his insurance co is going HMO vs the PPO plan he is currently in.

So far, I've actually had better luck with Kayfuns than I did starting out with carto-tanks. Of course, it didn't help that my first carto-tank came with a pre-punched carto with 3 holes. Yes, 3 holes! And, I use 80 to 85% PG!

However . . . . .

I put a coil on a Kayfun base that I bought from FT. It apparently wasn't making a connection. So, I put in another one. Then I put it away to think about later. Then today I put a coil in a Kayfun that I had just been using, and it wasn't making a connection. I had thought the FT one might me faulty or something. But, this one I know works. I look under a magnifying glass and swear the wires are solidly under the screws and the coil is up off the deck.

I can always take it out and start again. But, I would really like to know what I'm overlooking.

Welp. I got the day off, the Kayfun lite plus v2 came in the mail. I was getting ready to wrap a coil and wick this bad boy when I realized. I don’t have a clue what I’m doing!

Was thinking 26ga Kanthal, 8 wraps, 1.0 ohm.

Its for my wife, and she runs the Kanger tanks @ 10-15 watts with the 1.2 ohm vert coils I build in the throw away dual coil heads.
If you all have any ideas on a better scheme using 26 or 28ga kanthal wire let me know. I’m trying to get her to fall in love with something thats more fun to rebuild, lol. Meanwhile I’m going to do some reading on the subject!

P.S. she's in it for the flavor.

KF's are very easy to build I've got 8 - KF3.1s and 2 - KFL+v2s love 'em all. What is the resistance of the assembled KF deck? The positive post screws are very close to the evap chamber wall, so any overhang from the coil will cause a short. Clippings from the coil will also cause shorts.
The first KF that I got had a short with no coil installed. I found metal filings in the center pin chamber was the cause. So disassemble and clean thoroughly before using any new tank.

Got continuity? I was just looking at this new Kayfun wondering what all protects that center post from shorting besides the flat insulator that I can see. Tested the continuity just for giggles, it works!
