Reading back a bit... vaping more than smoking because we CAN?

Some of us could not possibly.

For the rest of the story:
The nicotine molecule in vapor is 10x larger than smoke. It is not absorbed as much, so it takes more puffs to get what you had.
I vape .6% nicotine solution
I smoked 1.9 or 2% nicotine tobacco.
There is no way I'm vaping more than I smoked based on nicotine.

I smoked anywhere I could get away with it. Taking 10 min out of every hour at work to go out and puff like a steam engine.
I descreetly vape about 5 puffs an hour while in the office and take a couple of outside breaks as well.

When I was at home for work or after work, I puffed my pipe constantly. I actually vape a bit less than constantly at home because my PV does not hang from my mouth like my pipe did, so I'm fairly certain I'm now vaping less than I smoked in number of puffs as well.

My vaping habit is to vape "as much as I smoked", yet when I look at it realistically... There is no way I could be vaping even as much as I used to smoke.

Saw this on Spinfuel:

"There is something, some truth that is spoken about in e-cigarette forums dozens, maybe hundreds, of times a day that for the most part all Vapers know to be true but others, non-Vapers, do not know. It is this; Vapers vape a lot more than smokers smoke.

We all know this to be true. Hell, if I counted the number of puffs/drags I take everyday from my e-cigarette and applied that number to tobacco cigarettes I would be in the category of a “4+ packs a day” smoker.

I’m a chain Vaper, like tens of thousands of others, I vape all the time. Why not? It’s safe. Harmless even. Hell, maybe even beneficial to lung health. And cheap. There isn’t a single reason that I can see for not vaping anytime I have the urge. I call it ‘pacify vaping’ "

I'm certain that in the beginning I vaped more than I smoked, but it was new and I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to give in and have a cigarette. As time went on though I really don't think I vape as much as I smoked because with a cigarette I'd smoke the thing until it was done. With vaping I have a toot or 2 and stick it in my pocket. I ALWAYS have a PV with me, but am not always vaping. Like today I spent a few hours painting sealer on the grout lines on the kitchen floor. A couple times I reached up for my PV and had a hit or 2 and went back to work. When I smoked I would have had a couple breaks to have a few whole cigarettes. Of course sitting here at the computer I probably vape almost as much as I smoked, but there's no race to puff till it's burned out. Don't know, vaping is different than smoking and I don't really know how you measure one against the other. It's almost like comparing apples to oranges.

OMG - I love this, lol lol lol! I vape here and there at work, and prior I couldn't smoke at my desk, lol, but I also don't take smoke breaks, so that may work out even. At home I chain-vape at the computer, but I chain-smoked at home, so it is probably not much diff. One day I may worry about it and cut back, but for now my focus is on not smoking and getting past the very occasional urge to light up (which I am sure would make me sick now if I did try it...). Re money it's a bit like discovering you have another pair of feet... so you check out all the cool new shoes and want to buy them. But in the end you find out tennis shoes are still the most comfy and I think I will settle down with what works. But I can see that this becomes a hobby and a social avenue, not just a thoughtless action to provide nic.

If you are not getting more vapor I have a question for you. Did you put the top cap on the IGO-L so that the hole in the top cap is directly in front of the coil? Assuming the coil is good and you do not have too much cotton (choking off juice flow) in it then lack of airflow is likely the issue.

As for leaking, mine never has unless I seriously overdripped.

Yes, I do make sure the hole is in front of the coil, but I ~think~ part of my problem is, as you said, my wick is too fat next to the coil and maybe choking off the juice flow. I'll keep at it, as time permits, 'til I get it right. Thanks again for your help and advice.

Good one!... thanks for the link, I'll be bookmarking that. :)

I'm thrilled to say that after 3 heart attacks my oldest son is finally showing a real interest in vaping. He bought some cheap kit I never heard of and broke it. A cig-alike thing. I ordered him a simple Evod kit. 2 Evod regulated 3.7 batteries,2 Evod clearos, extra wicks and charger. Gonna send him some extras too along with some juice.

Here is the thing with cotton it expands HUGELY when wet. SO you have to make sure it is not tight packed in the coils. I kinda hold each end and tug it back and forth in the coil it should move easily. too much in the coil chokes off the juice flow badly and can long run lead to a rather nasty fried cotton taste :)

Fran, that is wonderful that your son is finally showing some interest in vaping; especially that he needs to do so.

My son used to smoke cigars until I gifted him an ecigar.......have tried a couple of different ones and the one he likes best is from a local B&M and it was actually a lot cheaper than the one I bought online.
