Because it will not draw more than it needs and it cannot draw more than the output is. A 1 Amp wall wart would simply be working at less than its' maximum, which is usually preferred.

Oh - I thought it was implying you needed a 1 amp wall wart and that didn't make sense to me w/ respect to a USB port's specs. Seems if it works with a USB port a wall wart would only have to be 500 mAh not 1 amp. A lot of the 'warts' are actually less than 500 mAh, I guess that's why they recommend a 1 amp one.

Say for the other new Vamo users, there's a new thread started just for it.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/lavatube/358084-vamo-owners-pics-tips-tricks-quirks.html

A few posts in, there's a link to a new Chinese vendor selling them for $26. Shipping it $5.00 from China w/ delivery 10-25 days after order. You need to create an account, to see the sale price. I was tempted 'till I realized that it was a Chinese vendor - then I was reluctant to give out my CC info to an unknown (at least to me) site.

Good thing you didn't probably. Why take a chance. There was a review thread about false claims wrong stuff from Chinese vendor. Suppliers reviews. Might be some "scavenger" types from some factory? The way she described it the stuff could have been dug out of a recycling bin and of course no response to emails and all the bad stuff. Well anyway. Ya never really know. I have ordered from china twice quite successfully in the beginning of vaping this Summer. I hesitate to try it again now that I know a little more.

Oh man im jealous! I went to the vape store to get one and they were out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks great moishesmom & Tx how long did it take to charge???

I haven't charged mine yet. It was charged when I got it. I've been using it all day, 206 puffs, and it still is in the green. These are pretty good clearos that came with it too.

Tx or Mike did you guys have a chance to try your Vamo at 6.0 watts to see if it runs away or not? I may be returning mine if it is an isolated incident. I posted in the Vamo thread in the Smoktek thread and Rob said he would check to see if it is the old or new version for me but any time i set it to 6.0 watts i get nasty burnt hits bad ones. Am going to give him a call tomorrow if i don't see anything in forums.

Mine works good at 6 watts but the first ones that came out did have that problem.

Anyone know where I can get the 1 amp 'wart'? I've never heard of it. In the meantime, would a regular Joyetech 'rapid charger' work?
The one I have says input 100-240V...output 5.OV = 500mA. I'd prefer full charging it in a Lipo-Safe bag; just a little paranoid.

The wall wart is simply the part that plugs into an outlet and has a USB connection for the output. People call them chargers but they are really only adapters. If you have one that outputs 5 volt, 500mA to a USB connection it would be suitable to charge with. It would have the same output as the 2.0 USB connection on a computer.

The "Rapid Charger" for an eGo is actually the part (called a dongle) that screws onto the 510 connection. This should not be used for the MVP.

I have found several wall adapters but the vendors don't list the output.

ETA: I mostly based my answer on this info from a wholesaler site about the Innokin MVP charger.

The American version outputs 1000mA (1 Amp)

http://www.topbuy-ecig.com/innokin-mini-usb-charger-adapter-p-116.html

The Innokin site only lists this adapter and it is 500mA output. (You have to enlarge the photo to read it, they wouldn't list it, of course) Lol

http://www.innokin.com/electronic-cigarette-usb-charger.html

So, from this it looks like what you have will work fine. Sorry for the confusion. MikeE3 had the clue. If it would work from a 500mA outlet on the computer it has to work from 500mA from a wall adapter.

O.K. I think I'm learning a new language tonight. I have the 'wart' part so does that mean I can use the cable that came with the MVP to connect everything? BTW....You're terrific!:)

The wall wart should have the same connection that the USB on your computer has. Then you're Good to Go with that cable!

X P3 - Your info is priceless. I just received a reply from Justin at Innokin: "any good quality ego wall charger that puts out 450-600 is o.k." I think they should redo the info they enclose with the unit (NOT), I'd like to believe I'm not the only one that sounds like a road-cone. Thanks again for all your info & the time you put in to help....:toast:

Hey Moishe, too often I feel like a road cone when it comes to electronics. It's OK though, there's plenty of people on this thread who are kind enough to help us out.

You do realize that means you think like a Canadian?? or an engineer??

Around here, that's known as humour (note the spelling)! Lol

I have had many Fun Times in the Land of Y'All.

Funny, I was thinking of Semi today too! Right now it's 38 here going to 31. Brrrrrrrr! So glad we've got a nice warm, comfortable house at least. And I just got a nice warm down coat to wear if I absolutely have to go outside!

It's a bone chilling 65 here.

Oh yeah, post-Thanksgiving thru Easter! Most of your country folk head down to da east coast. At least they get NASA engineers to wait on their tables.

Here on da Sun Coast, we get your 'southern' neighbors (Mich/Minn/New England). At least they get to have their kids/grand kids serve 'em...
