She was not uncomfortable at all. There are no clots in her heart, and there is no evidence that there ever was one. All of the numerous tests have been completed now. love my mom so much!

Wahoooooo!!!!!!!!! So good to hear sweetie!! And I know that just feels like a huge weight lifted!!

Yesterday when I went out to top off the bird feeder I saw that my daffodils are coming up!! Yiippeeee!! :rickroll:

Kewl! Last week we noticed 3 lil daffodils that popped up here and it was so wonderful. Now I can't wait for my first sighting of my bluebonnets!! It's never spring for me til I see bluebonnets. that means I'm gonna have to get outta the house and go find some though lol

We babysat last week for our 3 grandbabies, and I caught such a cold like I haven't had in years! So dh just left a bit ago for another weekend with them, and hopefully he'll come back OK!

so sorry hun. Hope you feel better really soon, and that hubby don't get anything and bring it home. Wow, that chicken soup looked so good. Jup, nuttin like a great bowl of soup on a cold day or when you aren't feelin good.

Sorry to bring the news that just appeared on Drudge....salt Lake City, Utah is trying to pass a law that taxes e-cigs the same as regular cigarettes. Horrible article & bad news for all of us as I believe this is the just the start.

Jewels, I'm so glad to hear how well the testing went! Doctors are very scary. Some of the things they can put you through "for your own good" are close to torture. I'm glad it went well and that your mother had you to hold her hand through it.

What's their excuse? E-cigs look like cigarettes?

Vapeteam was talking about it on Wed. night show, thats on you tube and and our link here Pharmaceutical Nicotine Targeted By FDA | Ecig Advanced News

A year or two ago, the FDA was seizing shipments coming in from China. Until they were stopped. They didn't have the legal right. But, they did it anyway. They'll do whatever they can get away with, whatever we let them get away with.

120 yrs ago, My great grand parents packed up everything and left Ohio in a covered wagon.
When they got to Colorado, they started a cattle ranch. Three generations of my family have been ranchers.
My roots run deep.... but I think it's time to leave.
If you are a Outdoors man take your money and don't spend here !!

This will be a Epic Failure when companies leave ( and many will) the loss of income will be in billons of dollars.
The Outdoor Channel as canceled any shows in Colorado. And others may follow.
These are the days of disfuctionalism. It's been proven in Utah and Colorado this week.

We all know what happens when one state gets its foot in the door. I fear that it will be the domino effect and before we know it more and more states will see this as a gold mine. All they can see is dollar signs.

I was reading a thread from back a couple of years ago. The same thing was happening and nothing came from it. I'm afraid that won't be the case this time.

I will be OK with juice for a good long time but need to get more JDD's. My concern is for my new V-verts. I am pushing my sisters to stock up on unflavored nic juice but even getting it is difficult right now. I hope the ball hasn't already dropped. I check the 3 main venders almost daily. MFS keeps extending the date that they will get some. WL is still covered up with orders and RTS is having problems of his own.

I am trying hard to not stress over it but it is difficult not to.

Jewels,

I've been offline for a few days, so am just now getting to say congratulations on your new furbaby! How exciting for you! She's adorable and, from what I've seen of the breed, will only become cuter and cuter. I know you must be counting the days!

Can I offer you something to consider in the next few weeks? I'm an old dog and horse person and learned to train from my father, who was one of the best in the world with animals. It's just this: Please consider positive-reinforcement training. It works so wonderfully well and creates such a bond of trust between human and animal.

You can google it and also "clicker training" (which is one subset of positive-reinforcement types of training). There are a lot of great books and websites on these subjects. Patricia McConnell is one of the trainers I'm very familiar with (I have her book, "The Other End of the Leash" ... which is a beautiful book.)
Patricia McConnell | Positive Reinforcement in Dog Training | McConnell Publishing Inc.

Dogs are always smarter than most people give them credit for being. They communicate, as any dog owner worth her salt can attest to; the trick is knowing the language.

I know you're going to have such great fun with your new little family member! Congratulations again! Can't wait for her to be with you!

There's no such thing as "just a dog".

Thanks, Fizzy. I can't wait to meet her. I have a lot to do before she gets here, but I'm very distracted by my own excitement.

Yes, I have been reading about positive reinforcement training. I have been obsessed with reading online, and I definitely believe that it's the way to go. I read about and watched several videos on clicker training, and that constant clicking makes me crazy. I have been researching and reading so much that I haven't been getting much of anything else done. I already have the breeder recomended food on the way. I have her harness and leash, squeaky toys, crinkly toys, teething toys, a stuffable Kong, grid panels to create a puppy pen, and I am making several multi layered fleece doggie beds for her. They'll be thick and snuggly, and, most importantly washable(just in case). When we see how big she will get, I will make her a special doggie bed.

Hubby and I have been sleeping with an old pair of socks to put in her crate at night.

I hope her crate training goes well. Her 1st experience in her crate will be flying home in it from Minneapolis to Maine, a nonstop flight, so I hope she will eventually learn to accept the crate as her "safe place", and not be afraid of it. I am going to start as soon as we get home to make the crate her friend. I have done extensive reading on this, and I have high hopes of her doing very well. However, I am not looking forward to the nighttime puppy crying and potty trips in my jammies and slippers. Maybe it won't be so bad.

Sorry you're feeling melancholy. :( How's Bella doing?

Love, love, love the playlist today! Awesome, awesome. Listening to those songs is an experience, very dynamic and moving. I really enjoyed all of them, but my fave is Meatloaf. I adore his songs. Thanks.

She's growing like a weed and is just as annoying sometimes .. :)

Late last night and this morning, a few lines from Pink Floyd just kept spinning around in my brain ..

You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines

@UW - I too loved the playlist today. So true the words -

You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time

I have been definitely feeling this - seems like too many aches and pains and I just can't seem to find the energy I used to have. I am hoping it is just the tail end of the winter blues and that spring will arrive soon and bring back some of the energy I need to get at all the things I have been putting off

I'm glad Bella is happy and healthy. Sorry she bugs you sometimes, but I guess that's just how it is with people and pets. I think we all feel the years slipping by, and we realize all the stuff we never got to do. I know Hubby and I are feeling it, too. Add health problems and aches and pains... I remember feeling like I'd be young forever, and it kinda smacks you upside of the head all of a sudden that it's getting later and later. Sweetie, we have to remember that today is what we make it, and it'll never be today again. I know I have my bad days, too, and I don't mean to sound preachy. I always felt like we had a connection, and I don't like to see you sad.

I have been feeling noticably better since the days are getting longer. I also hope for more of that energy I used to have, but I don't think it'll ever be quite the same.

Well, a pets a commitment that I took on knowing full well .. last week, she managed to (even though I had had the front claws removed) put a good couple of scratches in a leather recliner I paid $1200 for just a year ago .. and she likes to dig around in a couple of large potted plants I have and paw the dirt out onto the floor .. then, yesterday, she managed to get ahold of a $120 pair of sunglasses and chew on those .. grrrr .. it is what it is .. I'm just hoping that she mellows out some with age ..

My mood right now is the onset of my usual down cycle .. populated by the usual coulda shoulda woulda thought patterns .. I thank you for your words of kindness .. :)
