Been a week today for me without a cigarette... For some reason today has been very tough, vaping up a storm today.. I cant believe how much I have gone thru!

Took hubby to a Dr appt this morning, I cant believe how many folks I could smell cigarette smoke on!

Throat is a feeling all the vaping today..

Hey everyone just thought I would check in while I'm feeling good.

Day-um, do ya know how folk here had to up their BP meds while awaiting your update? Just outright inconsiderate... that their docs haven't subscribed to this thread!

I do get one too so I will post a pic and one of my mask when I get home!:)

I ever so much wanted to save my bride's last (she had three of 'em) radiation 'target' mask for the g-babies. Noper, she wouldn't have anything to do with it once her treatments were over!!!

So glad to hear from ya, that you're doing well and that ya have your son to follow up on da details!

Jup, we believe it, poor thing. And no she wouldn't be in trouble, but if that was my mama, whoever left the dang bed rail down would be!! thank the Lord she seems to be ok from it.

Good grief!!!!!!! Really hope that she didn't suffer any serious injury from that fall.
"I hope she survives the damn hospital stay." You got that right Natasha! And they'll want to keep her the full amount of time that Medicare pays. At least that's been my experience with the hospitals and rehab places.

I am told the bed rails were UP. HOWEV, TBH on these new hosp beds they have at the main campus, the lower foot rails are not very tall. AND they had put an air mattress on her bed. So there was MAYBE 2" from the mattress to the TOP of the foot rail and a BIG gap between the upper and lower side rails.
Anyway... she has said since that she was trying to turn over on her side and just slid out.
And you are right Gloria... Medicare had her tossed out today. She was moved to the west campus to Select Care. Which is fine, as IMO they have more staff, the staff is far more attentive and MIL seems like it better. AND the bed rails are taller and closer together!
When I was there today, MIL says she feels good, her attitude was good, and she had her ipad out listening to her audio books. Which she LOVES, but has not done since the day she fell. SO... IMO, God willing, we are on the upswing!
And tomorrow she may even get some food, which will make her really happy cuz she is HUNGRY. LOL

Hey everyone just thought I would check in while I'm feeling good. I have one more Chemo and six radiation treatments and I will graduate from here and will be heading home. I will still be on the feeding tube for a month or so but it isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I don't have to worry about cooking or how bad or good the food tastes. My son has been here with me the whole time and has really been a great help with everything. He keeps track of everything and takes care of most of the meds feeding ect. His company gave him time off work to care for me so it just worked out really really good so far.:)
:tumble:

Yes Lilac he really has been a tremendous help and Blessing. :) I tried to talk him out of staying and saying I could manage by myself but he insisted so I gave in and I'm sure glad I did!

Tx.... glad it is going well for you, sir. Take care of you and stay positive!

Ah Tx, it is SO good to hear from you. Ain't it great that your son is there to help out!! It's so nice to hear that your treatments are progressing well. Must be that iron core! Check in when you can. We love to hear from you! Prayers are still coming!

I'm doing OK, and thanks for asking .. you .. ??

Well I still get up in the morning - it sure beats the alternative  Looking forward to spring and getting out on the streams again. Each year I care less about catching the fish and just look forward to spending time outside with the sound of the river, the wind in the trees, and if i'm lucky spot an eagle flying down the river looking for food.

Oh my, oh my, Natasha - here's hoping the upward trend continues and things just keep getting better for her.

Natasha, so glad to hear that the move was a good one for your MIL. Sounds like she must be feeling better! What a relief that must be for you. Hopefully things will get better from here on.

It IS bettah.. finally.. thank ya'll. Except for the fact that she not up and ginning around, at least she SOUNDS more like herself. I'm beyond grateful that she is happier. She said today that when she was so ill she wished she would die. And i said, yes... you told us. She was mortified and does not remember that. BUT.. that tells ME how lost she really was. And it pisses me off that this hosp (a) let her get to that point and (b) let it go on for DAYS b4 someone acknowledged it and tried to help her. They just kept giving her pain pills. I explained that to her today, and told her to always make sure the staff understood WHERE she hurt. The pain meds they were giving her were NOT beneficial for the pain she had. And she understands that now.
Mike.. my MIL is the fisherwoman deluxe. She and I have spent many a day and night sitting on a dock manning fishing poles. Pure joy. She had vertigo and could not well do boats. I get seasick. So... we are the pair, sitting on the dock waiting on the cats and the bass.
And she would be the first to say.... as long as you can still fish, life is worth living. There is alot of inner life peace in fishing....whether you catch anything or not. :)

Hmmm...seems like those new beds are a lawsuit waiting to happen. So thankful that she wasn't seriously injured AND very happy to hear that she's listening to books and hungry. That's great news! :)

You're doing great mymares! Won't be long and you'll be past the physical/mental cravings.

I was amazed at being able to smell it on smokers too. Not a happy thought to think that that's how I used to smell too. Eeewww!

Remember to stay hydrated. Lots of water!! :)

In this case, it was a good thing he didn't listen to you! Great son ya got there. :)

Sound like me Mike. I can go fishing - forget the bait and still relax and just enjoy myself...

Tx, so glad to hear from you. Glad you had a good day today! Only 10 more days, that's awesome! We were so worried about you! How wonderful that your son is staying with you. You raised him good!!

So glad your mom is doing better. When she starts worrying about what her hair looks like, you'll really know she well on the road to recovery, hahaha. Gosh, the poor woman must be starving.

LOL.. funny as my SIL combs Mom's hair everyday and comments as to how good it looks. Which it HAS held well, considering that prior MIL had her hair done EVERY WEEK. But I am betting that the hair issue is going to resurface from MIL verah sooon. Look forward to it, as I can take care of that.

Congrats!! I had a total meltdown on Day 4. Everything tasted horrible and the cravings were so bad. I did light a cig that day, took a few puffs and it was horrible too, so I put it out. lol I got through it, but that was a rough day. Took me 8 months to get to the point that I really don't have any cravings now and that involved finding a juice that I could vape at 24 mg nic without it tasting peppery. Hang in there hun, and if ya need to meltdown, we're here for ya as much as we can be. Yiddle kinda talked me through my meltdown.

Tx....soooooo glad you'll be home soon and that your son can be there for you, and that you let him be!! That's wonderful!!

Wow, jup I'm with Gloria, such low rails plus an air mattress sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. But so glad she's on the mend.
