Only thing I've ever used paypal for was to donate to forums I feel deserve donations. Wouldn't be able to donate without paypal.

I had no idea about the issues with e cig stuff. That sucks.
I don't understand why they would support the use of Paypal when Paypal is so obviously anti e-cigarette. I would happily become a supporting member on Dwolla or by using a credit card but I will not again use PayPal. This decision is not out of fear of losing my money it is out of principal.

Paypal and their other business Ebay have been like this for years. The main problem is they see themselves as enforcers of the law, and interperet the law incorrectly. For example; if you have a dispute with someone who you feel has ripped you off, the avenue to take is though the courts, Paypal forget that they are merely a payment service, not judge and jury.

They take decisions which should be between payer and payee. Often completely at odds with the law. So this should not be a worrying precedent, because they do this in almost every area of their operations.

They are both slowly managing to kill their businesses by acting this way. Many people I know will not use either service after being burned too many times. I was a successful Ebay trader myself for many years until they started messing with it. I started a new career and now earn more with less hassle.

I've been bounced from Paypal twice. There are obviously at least two points of view here, the e-cig business person's and Paypal's. Obviously from the business person's point of view (that's me) It makes it darn near impossible to reach the cash only demographic. Business would have to be done on the down low. Now that I signed their agreement to never even think about selling anything remotely resembling an ecig, I have to keep my word. If you haven't yet been busted by Paypal, you might want to put a document on your site with directions on how to do the transaction so that it doesn't appear on Paypal's radar.

The other point of view is Paypal's. The first thing that seems obvious is the under age purchasing problem. Generally, if an individual has a credit card, they are over 18. Yes, I am sure there are exceptions. The second and probably most influential factor for their ban is ignorance. Ignorance of the product is, I believe, the biggest problem the industry faces. I am sure there are other organizations, but the two that I am familiar with are CASAA, the user advocate, and TVECA, the e-cig industry advocate. The only way that the industry is going to hold off the "nanny staters" is through education. The mind set of "if it walks like a duck..." goes out the window with e-cigs. They look like cigarettes, are used like cigarettes, have smoke-like emissions like cigarettes, but, as we know, they ain't no cigarette. We win the logical and scientific argument based on current data. The problem is, it doesn't matter if you're right and no one knows it, or, isn't willing to listen to sound reason. It is just like the state of our nation (The US for all you EUers). We spend 40% more than we take in. The obvious correction should be....everybody now! STOP SPENDING! But the politicians don't care about sound reason. If the government took 100% of the income of those earning over $1 million it would amount to only $616 billion. That is only a third of this year's deficit alone. (citation) But I digress. If we want to stop or even slow down the efforts to ban or unreasonably restrict the sale and use of e-cigs, everyone who wants to continue vaping must get involved. Ya, I know, we all work. We get home, feed the kids and the animals, clean the house, and if there is a little time left, get some ice cream and watch TV. Everything has a price. What are you willing to give up to be able to continue enjoying the bliss of vaping? Only you can answer that. I need some ice cream.

Has anyone here heard of Dwolla?

Dwolla

I just heard about them. Fees are Zero to send money.
25cents each transaction to receive money.

I'm finding this a little too good to be true. It is worth taking a look at.

GotVapes uses dwolla, so I believe they're legit. Thanks for reminding me of this since I forgot about it.

i wish people would stand up to the FDA, this is bull honky. PayPAl is a huge company and they should stand up for their rights!

They do, through changing the AUP... just like they did with anything gun/firearm related years ago... they have a right to lose their business revenue through people not using their service. You can also thank lawyers and the politicians (most of whom are lawyers... irony?) for creating such a litigious environment, to the point I am shocked nobody has sued USPS, UPS, FedEx and the ATF whenever a crime with a firearm is committed like they were going crazy with under Clinton (the old, if you had anything so remotely to do with it mindset).

I have not used paypal in a long time (years) and for that very reason. I had to have a lawyer send a threatening letter to them when they froze my paypal account (was using it to sell old 10-rd magazines and buying hi-cap ones after the Brady Bill expired) and refused to transfer my money back to my bank account (this was after they were ruled to follow treasury regs) which is against regulations which govern their business.... I also reported them to several govt agencies, and a week after the letter from an atty (was a family friend) and the complaints my money was mysteriously back in my account...

F$%& PayPal.... and even more so F$%@ EBAY...

nanny-staters do not consider evidence, and are too ignorant to learn about FACTS....

also it's the 'cig' 'cigarette' part of the name that gives it a negative stigma to all the anti-tobacco people. Just like how some places have banned anything 'snuff' that is NOT tobacco... because 'it would encourage children'... yet the kids were all using copenhagen and skoal, the adults who started as kids were using the herbal snuff to help get away from the tobacco.... good job nanny staters....

....or maybe it is because they are as dependent on taxes as a crack head ...... addict is on drugs....

I've always hated Paypal(Yeah right, pals huh?) and have never used it nor signed up for it. Any site that has PayEnemy I need to order something from I just select the option to just use it by my credit card. I always knew they were shady but WOW I am shocked at some of your posts here guys. I never realized just what lengths PayEnemy will go to in order to make people's lives miserable for no reason. Especially shutting down your wifes account because her husband was involved in ecig sales? What the?!? I would already be verified but like I said I never have and never will use paypal and to be honest (I forget what it's called, but the one option where you put all your information in and your identity is confirmed) makes me nervous to do and I still haven't done yet even though i'm almost through the process it makes me nervous to scan my license and send it to strangers.

I've never had a single issue with paypal, even when I was selling Research Chems on ioffer... Key imho is to keep all payment receipts vague. I would sell under "fertilizer" not RC/JWH. Always worked fine...

So if for example you sold ejuice instead as "aromatherapy juice" , it would be acceptable. All about how you word it.

There are other ways to get verified than just paypal. And while paypal is a pain to deal with some of us don't have much choice. Many of us that make money online get those funds via paypal, so while things like Dwolla may work for e-cigs, it is a major pain for some of us to try to use.

I've purchased every single vaping related item I have ever owned using paypal and never had an issue. (Including niquid) :)

So have I.... but! if they "know" it's eCigs or Nictotine juices, they will close your account as these are on their list of 'restricted' items. I am a Premier verified PayPal account holder and I had my account 'suspended' for a short while for selling Nicotine/eCig related items on a secondary market a few years ago. PayPal would not allow my account to be re-activated until I agreed to never again 'buy' or 'sell' eCigs or eCig related items using THEM as a funding source.... so I say, IF you use PayPal for eCigs & Nic Juices, do so cautiously and tell the 'Seller' NOT to mention anything eCig related in either their TITLE/COMPANY NAME or notes.
