....what poor device did you gut that beaut out of?

Pdib will have to answer that question :). He just sent it to me one day after I asked him nicely for one. That's how he rolls :)

It is a perfect fit and not a rough edge on it. It really is an extremely inginuitave, high quality piece that literally blows up the aesthetic on any mod color mod I put it on.

It may look delicate but it's not - it's circuit board - metal sandwiched in whatever that green stuff (maybe plastic) is :)

I call it the mother (of all) board door.

It's always in use :)

Yes, I'm wrapping it around this (probably 1.3 - 1.5mm?)

H01089-7.jpg

I had been trying some wide ID coils yet sub ohms, for the sake of using an Eko or Nextel weave or just a big soaker wick… in most cases i found a slight problem with heat up times… not as much "instant gratification" as a smaller micro wrap (see Supe's Chart).

Again "how" you setup your atomizer is pretty damn important given you have a decent atomizer….

because it can be too small ID, too big ya da ya da…

I like a classic Micro with "just the right" amount of cotton or hemp puff wick… but sub ohms for me and 26g wire to get all the oomph per mm (OPM) available.

Sub-ohm is great! ......until you it start's burning your lip's and scorching juice sprays the back of your throat :( I been on 1+ ohm coils for the last 2 days trying to recover, we live and learn, I think you guys call it the paperclip coil with the gap in the middle and I sat it right under the drip tip lol ... might try some pipe mesh in the top of the rm2 :glare:

hey dibbster I think its time for you to make my dibdab :)

Excellent question Bimini. I'm sure our artisan (known as Pdib) will be most qualified to answer that.

Sure. BTW, if he mentioned the finish, I must have missed it. Anybody know which finish he's using - on the natural woods?

Btw, my hats off to you for actually reading through 100+ pages here.:toast:

Yea. I've been pretty excited since getting on the list. It took a while to catch up after ~5 days away, but this is a fun group to read.

If you live in a climate with 90% dripping humidity, you know better than I do what your extreme habitat means to wood. I've got one mod in Hawaii, and one in Florida. Hawaii had an adjustment period of a week or so; but I gather all has been well since. Florida needed an adjustment upon arrival; but has been running fine since. That's the info I've received. Both these mods were Beta, and i'm embarrassed to say my finishing schedule has improved since then.

My finish process on solid wood mods is . . . .. inside of tubes gets CA until it just can't absorb any more, then a final coat. Ends get the same (as much CA as they can drink). Outside of body gets as much SeaFin (google it) as it can drink. All excess is wiped away. Then the outside gets as many coats of CA as it takes to build a consistent, pretty, shine (which entails full coverage + build coats).

Stabilized (and woods like Santos Mahogany . . . .. which are so full of their own oil, that they actually exude the SeaFin back out over time): All CA, everywhere, same as above, but without the SeaFin.

You know... I wondered the exact same thing, and just thought I was doing something wrong... so this was a great post:).

I haven't figured out the attraction to sub-ohm vaping yet. I have mech mods, but I have mostly used them in rotation with regulated mods. But I'm still trying to figure out my vaping sweet spot, and haven't done enough experimenting to be sure, so seeing what you guys like best helps!!

These will look amazing. With all the practice you'll get on groups 1 -4 my group 5 Ollie should be amazing.

HELL YEAH!!! btw, so how's the mod on the atty? Any success?

Frankly; I haven't done it yet... This will be my first "Squonk" type mod so there is no pressing need to do it at the moment (I believe I am in Group 4) So there is some time yet. However, one of the few places that I was able to find it at the time I got it was Empire Mods, just in case you were interested. Not of the highest quality, however it may suffice with the aforementioned modifications... YMMV, In fact I'm pretty sure that it will, convinced that it will... I think it will? Perhaps it won't?

You are in Group 5, Filthy Beast! o_O I am as well =] I must admit that I have several other mod-related purchases in process right now, but this one is the one I am most excited about =] Some pyrex/SS/brass drip tips are in the mail and heading in my direction, but I'll be putting them away for this DIBI. I've just shipped off my gunmetal Vamo to have it converted into a Vamo S model, got the parts from Belgium finally, so those will be retrofitted by a friend :/ I got a new little hybrid in to replace my stealth eGos for work, but have to order flattop instead of buttontop batteries for that little bugger... I can't get the tubes screwed together with the new button top 14500s that I just received :/

Above all, it's the DIBI that I am most curious about =] Light wood, dark wood, red tint, green tint... a couple of months away, but still excited and imagining =]

I know. Right! I've also got a few mods orders working but this is the most important one. I'm already thinking I need to get a spot in group 8 or 9 for my 2nd one!

I think group 1 is underway. Those who have mods already were in what is being called the beta group.

Well, I'm in Florida with the dripping humidity... so I guess I should send you a stabilized block of wood:).

I wanted to wait to see what the custom wood ones look like done, and hopefully posted with the original wood piece sent, so I can get an idea of what portion of the design on the wood will show, what will get cut away with the hole, how much the block changes from sanding and finishing. I hope those of you in groups 1-2 will help us later ones, seeing as how you are getting yours so much sooner than we do:p.

I'm in Group 4. I bounce between getting impatient and sad that I'm not in an earlier group, with being glad I have more time to plan for how I want it. The only sure thing is that I want one, and that it will be the most asthetically pleasing one I own:).
