Laces quick fire vid. Thank you to all those who sent me pictures and already built these with both ribbon and kanthal!

takes like 3sec to warm up but hits nice and smooth![]()
yea it doesn't spew vapor like I thought it would, but it gives of plenty for me. the nice thing is its so smooth, just the right air/vapor ratio(1/8'"ish holes)Yeah, that's a lot of wire to heat up but a lot of surface area too! Looks awesome!

Ok I'm gonna confess that when I first saw it I thought it was one of those pointless fancy builds.
But holy crips that's A LOT of vapor coming out.
I'm assuming you'll need to just keep pulsing it and let oxidation build up around the overlaps to let the hot spots go away?
Or I guess I could just torch the living crap outta it prior to building

I'm just theorizing here, but the cross over points shouldn't cause a problem.
The voltage gradient potentials should be almost identical where they cross in this design.
OP-----correct?--------horribly mistaken?
seems logical
Ah right. Right that makes sense. Didn't think of that.
Although that is assuming that I can actually coil it so well that the voltage gradient IS that similar.
Another thing: this IS considered kinda like a quad coil right? Unless I'm visualizing the conduction path wrong. Which is very likely hahahaha.
ETA: also Mundy, the only reason I'm considering messing with this build is because I literally have HUNDREDS and Hundreds of feet of ribbon kanthal from my MM wire craze phase

If I had thought of it I would call it the shoelace.
EDIT: I should always read the first word in the original post.![]()
That shoelace build is beautiful!

I've never seen black lines in the middle of my ribbon like you have in that pic, whats that about?
nice clouds btw![]()

I had trouble when I first started KFs as well... no flavor, at all... which is so far from where I'm at now with them it's kinda funny looking back.
I get way better flavor from my KFL+ than I do from my drippers.
Yeah... I'm thinking this KFL clone is going to be my "backup kayfun." I made a new coil for it this morning; a "macro", not compressed, 7/64, 30ga, 1.8Ω, and raised it up pretty significantly away from the airhole; I did cut the wick ends on the diagonal, so there's not much at all on the ledges there, in the chamber, so I don't see how it could be blocking or impairing the wicking. The very-tight draw is eased a bit, it seems more of a normal tight draw than a blockage, but I can't say I'm getting much flavor from it; it's still kind of in the "break-in" period, so I'm running it at pretty low wattage, but it's rather underwhelming. I'll keep at it, maybe after it "breaks in" it will be better.
But as if I wasn't vexed enough with this lil cheapie, this morning I discovered it had leaked; not into the 510 well, thank goodness, so I don't think it's leaking from the center post, but maybe from the fill hole; I had it on top of a vv3, so i was using a flared cone to make it look better, and the leak was all over the top of that cone. It had been sitting since about 6pm yesterday, so it had quite a while for the leak to happen.
So, it seems I need another KFL+ clone, and I did find one on ebay this morning, a tobeco like the other one I have that I'm so pleased with, that had just been posted for bids, so maybe I'll get lucky and get another decent kfl+ clone for a decent price.
*crossing fingers*

Definitely the best "cheap" clone. I prefer the black edition which is only about $5-$10 more. But when you can get acceptable ones for under $20 via FastTech and you really don't have the extra $20 of disposable income let alone $40, they're even better choices.get an EHPro KFL+ V2 = $30-$35

Well... I'm very happy with my Tobeco KFL+, and although I spent $32 on it, right now that's a little more than I want to spend; I'm in that "auction" on eBay for another Tobeco KFL+, so we'll see what happens. So far mine is the highest bid, but it's got 2 days to run. If I end up not getting that one, then I might look again at the EHpro; I've heard very good things about all EHpro stuff.
I think the main reason I didn't go for the Ehpro before was that I could not find one that had the brushed finish, all I could find was polished or matte, and neither would look good with my Sigelei. And I'm just not in the mood to wait that long for FT. If I was going to order something from the other side of the planet, e5cigs has a nice Tobeco for $13.02, with adjustable airflow, brushed finish, and they take just 3 wks, via HK Post, rather than the 2 wks-to-infinity that FT seems to take.
I just checked and that one you linked to is the v2, and I absolutely don't want that one, my M-tank won't fit it, I don't think, and I always use my M-tanks, rather than those fiddly little rings. But those rings make excellent beauty rings for the sigelei, for any 22mm topper.

EHPro > Tobeco
V2 > V1
As for the rings... I only ever have to actually disassemble the tank when something comes up that needs the SS (citrus, cinnamon, etc)... or conversely when I want to add the clear section. I never really disassemble the Tank and top cap. The SS on the EHPro isn't all that shiny; maybe a little
