lol 'cause it works better and is better made

w/e

:D

Ok, I'm still not interested in the v2, because of it not fitting my M-tanks... total waste of money on those if I can't use them on ALL my kayfuns... But, I've been outbid on the Tobeco, so I'm now free to consider alternatives -- like the EHPro KFL+ v1 -- but I have some questions about it.

Is the top cap flat on the inside, or recessed? Seems to make a big diff in volume.

The center post -- does it anchor the block? If you loosen the center post to let it stick out more, does it then loosen the block, or does the block stay where it is? This is my BIGGEST gripe with that el cheapo I bought, having to keep the center post tight so the block doesn't move around and make the coil Ω act wonky. Becuase of using the kayfun ring as a beauty ring on my sigelei, this means I need to be able to extend the center post just a bit, to get battery contact, and I can't do this with the el cheapo, I have to either use the sigelei's top ring and accept the ugly gap, or use the el cheapo on one of my vv3's.

How is the draw? Does the airflow control work well? I like a *fairly* tight draw, but not like... a cartotank or something like that; I used to love that draw, it's the most like a cigarette, but it's been a while now since a cigarette, so I'm moving toward enjoying a slightly looser draw; better airflow seems to mean better flavor, too.

Thx!!
Andria

EDIT: 1 more question: does it have a regular removable drip tip, or one of those proprietary ones? I really hate the one that comes on it, and prefer to use my own.

It will be 1-1 with the original, so I think that means the block will move if you loosen the 510. As far as I know that is standard on all KF models. I've never seen or heard of one that didn't do that.

The V1 (never had an EHPRO V1, but just generally) has a tighter draw than the V2. The differences in the v1/v2 are in the design of the topcap and the air hole, and the V2 has a way nicer drip tip. I like the V2 topcap more and it does have a slightly bigger hole. All the kayfuns will use standard size driptip ports.

protip on ebay: Don't bid on anything until the last minute (literally); bidding sooner simply inflated the end-price, and you will always be outbid on vapeware if you bid sooner.

I don't have a fogger, because I HATE dual coils. I do have a caterpillar, which I use with a single coil, not dual, and I can barely stand even a single coil in that, but some folks gave me some good tips for a coil that will lessen the throat hit and make it a cooler vape, so I can stand it... like, use a macro with spaced wraps instead of compressed, so I'm going to try that, next time I want to try something out in my caterpillar -- soon I hope, ordered some yummies from high desert vapes because of their 50% off ejuice sale, but they seem to take forever to ship. C'mon Banana Nut Bread, and Double Apple! Banana dancing seems appropriate for Banana Nut Bread impatience. :D

Love your avatar, BTW... everytime I see it, I think "GUESS - WHAT - DAY - IT - IS !!!" :D

Good tip on the bidding; I've never really done auction stuff, so it's a whole new world.

From everything you said, I think I'd be a lot happier to just get another like the one I have, a Tobeco KFL+, with custom 2mm airflow hole, and a block that stays put when I loosen the center post.

Here's a pic that shows the difference between using the kayfun ring as beauty ring, and the regular sigelei top ring...

It just looks... neater, I guess; more put together, like it's meant to be that way, instead of just something I plopped on a battery.

Look for snipe software or service (some have x number of free uses)... they let you put your bid in for what you're willing to pay and then bids for you in the last seconds. This prevents your bids from showing up and starting a bid frenzy. I use Jbid these days but last I knew, there were several options out there.

Hey folks, just did my first coil! Very excited and pleased with myself

It's 28g NiChrome 80, 10 wraps around a 3mm drill bit. Mounted on an IGO-L on top of my Vamo V5.

Comes in at 1.6ohm which is spot on to what I was aiming for (special thanks the the Android app Vapers Toolbox for that) and I've wicked it with cotton

Anyway, I'm so pleased I took many photos as I was going, here's a selection of the best

Thanks for looking folks, hopefully soon I'll be tidying up the slightly loose bits in the coil and making some awesome creations like the rest of the folks here

holly hell those are huge setups

lol I've gotten so used to a smaller rig since I've moved to mechs that I forgot what a VV/VW looks like in 18650 mode with a KF on top.
:D

I generally run my VV/VW in 18350 these days cause it doesn't get prolonged play. Those guys are lookin tough

I really thought I would prefer the smaller size too, so I bought 2 pairs of '350s... now I use them that way, as 2 sets, because I stack them, keeping the flat tops together, and the button tops together, because I get nearly 3 days of battery life out of them that way. Sometimes I still use my 18650s if I'm just sitting around the house, not going anywhre, and it's just a *bit* shorter with an 18650, I think I've read somewhere it's 5mm. I actually *love* the telescoped mode, that bottom segment fits my hand *perfectly* and I love the weight of it; it feels *real* not like throw-away consumer junk. But I also still use my 2 vv3's, they're excellent; I've been putting that el cheapo kf on a vv3 using a flared cone, and it actually looks fine, though it's a bit top-heavy.

I went ahead and ordered another Tobeco KFL+ w/2mm custom airflow, same exact kf, same vendor; absolutely amazed and delighted by that vendor, Ironvapin, on ebay -- he sent me a different allen-wrench thing for the airflow because the one in the kit didn't fit... he sent me 4 extra full-screw o-rings because my first one shredded in 2.5 wks. Just really great service, that you don't often find anywhere, let alone on eBay. This particular one is $32.95 on ebay, almost $5 more than the next-lower price(which didn't have the custom airflow), but I figure for a great vendor like that, and a really excellent piece of hardware, it's worth it. Now I guess I gotta get another flared cone. :D I also ordered a quartz kit, and thought I might use it with the cheapie kf for fruit/cinnamon e-juices, and keep the 2 kfl+'s for my regular Virginia day and night mixes. I finally did get that cheapie to vape pretty decently; it's just a little more finicky on wicking than the KFL+.

in a Kayfun all it would do is (1)nothing, (2)mess up you airflow, (3)mess up your wicking

the chamber in a kayfun is minute already, and you don't use cotton to hold juice, just to feed it from the channels to the coil. The diameter of the chamber is the diameter of the deck that the wicks are touching in that pic, and it's only a mm or two higher than the top of that coil.

...never used a Kayfun? This makes me sad.

"~Then again I could see the vapor being "caught" by that wet nesting, I'd try and keep the nesting below the airhole." (this was me politely suggesting it's not a good idea, you don't have to be a kayfun veteran to understand that, and don't be sad, because I own a squape and prometheus, which is much better for my needs, which is big vapor/faster wicking.)

I was just trying to give the advice in a way that's more constructive, instead of just shutting the new owner down and judging their wicking (and not giving any advice in return), you've got a bad attitude, and shouldn't bring that to ECF. I own a sQuape though, and I fully know the cotton should be as light and minimal as possible (but enough to moderately wedge in the coil's center), the fluffier the better it transports. If I owned a kayfun (I'll have the tobeco kayfun "BIG" in a week or two to give it a shot), I'd probably use rayon for quicker transport, and keep it clear of the channels, probably hug the deck wall down in the juice chamber to let a puddle build up, while trying not to take up more than half of the juice well.

Love the twisted 24ga suggestion, that's exactly what I used it for, awesome advice dude, you have a real knack for it.
