What is the next battery I can buy that performs just as good as Sony's? Since I keep seeing posts about them not making any more. I have the purple eFest but I'm weary of sub-ohming low on them.

Well. The LG HE2.
Kidney puncher released a statement saying that they have official test results from the manufacturers showing that they can discharge at 35A continuous no problem. Awaiting permission from LG to release the results.

I, personally boycott Kidney Puncher for their refusal of DOA warranty on replacement glass tank. They will never see a penny of my money.
Yes, saw that and may have to just grab several until something better comes along at a later date. Would definitely feel better about if LG will vouch for the 35A continuous claim, but I'm kinda getting used to 0.3 - 0.4 ohm builds anyway.
Grin. OR you can use their website to see the official test results, and buy the same cells from other vendors.
I have been using the purple efest 35A batts at .5 and lower without problems.I also take care of my batteries too but sub'ing with the efest as far as I can see is perfectly fine.
Cool. I'm usually around .20-.35 area. But .28 has been my sweet spot. Just wanted to know if there was another battery that we can use besides Sony's. Prices on them are getting ridiculous.
If I understand correctly, mAH x 1000 = AH, AH x C = Amps continuous discharge and Pulse discharge is usually double.
Sony Lithium ion 26650 3.7V 2600mah is 10C, I.E: 2.6 AH x 10C= 26 Amps/52 Amps which is nowhere near needed 61.
IMO. I would NOT use it on that build of yours, personally.

Based on that table MNKE 3500 mAH Battery has 18.75 C-rating which translates to 65.62 Amps continues discharge current.
But why do they advertise it as only 20/60? Go figure...

Decided to step away from my norm and went vertical with this build for max air flow. Twisted 24 gauge kanthal, 5 wrap micro coils. Had to drill out the center post of my Vulcan a bit too accommodate the thicker gauge kanthal. Absolutely love twisted wire, all the little gaps created by the twists produce insane flavor without sacrificing vapor production. Resulting in a cool vape, full of flavor with nice thick clouds.
Im not sure where the dislike of Efest batteries came from recently.
Ive been using Efest batteries for solely subohm vaping for almost a year now.
My personal favorite are actually the red 18650 30amp, but the 35amp 18650 purple efests are also great. The red are my favorite mostly because I have much more of them than I have of the purples. I rock these batteries daily on .32ohm dual coil builds.. thats myu usual build.. but I have been also using a .25-.28 dual coil build for a couple months now. 30amp red efests and 35amp purple efests work wonderfully.
Ive got a bunch of other brands of batteries too, no hate towards them. Ive got Sony VTC4s that work just as well, of course Ive got a bunch of AW IMR 18650 1600mah.. the original subohm battery.. and still a very good one. I LOVE my Orbtronic SX22s, the only issue with those is they are a bit taller and a hair wider around the top, so they dont fit into all my mods.
If you're talking 18490 size, the two best options, no question, are AW IMR 18490, and if your mod will fit it, the Purple Efest 18500. AW IMR 18490s are 15amp just like the purple efests. I use this battery size sparingly though, it doesn't stay above 3.8v very long compared to an 18650.

I only know one battery that can safely handle that: LiFePo battery, like A123 ANR26650M1A 3.2V 2300mAh 70A
VTC 18650 series will also handle this build with ease. Just dont hold the fire button down for ages. Esp when you factor in battery sag.
I know what you are saying.I have been sub'ing strictly on my efest batts too,yes I have a .... ton of the reds myself.I have also been stocking up on the 18650 2500Mah 35A purple efest,and the 18490 purple efest too,i seldom go down to 18350 size strictly because battery life just is not there yet.I sub ohm my 35A efest mainly at .5 and I have a few juices I go down to .25.I also have a few Sony VTC5's and AW's but efest are my battery of choice too.
Have you tried out the 18350 purple efest 10.5A batt yet??? I am wondering why they up'd the amp's on the 350's with just 700Mah to vape with?? I also have just acquired a few purple efest 26650's for my Hades,Tree of Life,and El'Gigante MOD's.
Sony 18650 VTC4 and 5 are 12C rated.
That means at 2100 mAH, the discharge current rating is 25.2 A continuous and 50A pulse. That's according to manufacturer's specs.
IMO: I would not even pulse a 61A load on a battery rated 50A pulse MAX. IMO
WANNA start off by saying I am STRONGLY against the idea of pushing a battery past its continuous rating period. But for the sake of objective discussion, here's the spec sheet for the Sony vtc5

Still I agree that its just a good rule of thumb to operate with a big safety margin.

This document contradicts the one I found on Sony's site that says VTC4 has 12 Rating. Go figure...- Status
