^ Looks good to me man! How are you liking that particular genny? I've been thinking of picking one up now that prices have gone down a bit.

Couldn't say anything to do it justice have run Cotton Silica and now Ss mesh no wicking issues Super easy to set up honestly I FREEKING LOVE IT! loved it so much that when my wife claimed mine I immediately bought a second and I'm ready to just give away my novas kanger. It is a little airy if your used to an airy draw but flavor is great. I actually like all my juices and some I was ready to throw away when I vape them in the Nova...

Hey vans... How do you like the double wire? Can you compare it to Twisted same ga.?

Heyhey!
Don't have much of experience with twisted coils... done it once on IGO-W4 by hand twisting it :D (lack of drill, need to get one)... but
I must say I love how doubled wire performs... reminds me more of a dual coil on AGA-TD. Flavor is good, vapour is warm and vapour production is good with a short drags... no problems with wicking... can chain vape holding it at 5 o'clockish with no dry hits.

I don't have any pics. But I did just rebuild my taifun gt last night with cotton with no problems but it still don't taste as good as mesh to me. But I'm gonna use it for a few days and c where it goes

.25 twisted with cotton. I folded over the longer side and cut them about 2-3mm from the holes

Now you see when I try mesh it taste very metallic and mutes the flavor.. I'm thinking why do people like mesh so much it's awful, or maybe I'm doing it wrong. I also run into burnt cotton hits .. I would like to try mesh again but I need some advice why it's tasting so metallic..

ive dealt with the metal taste before, i found the best place to start is making sure your first wrap isnt too tight, it needs to just rest on the wick and the rest should follow the same, when your wick and coil are complete.. a new build should allow the wick to spin freely in the coil with very little resistance.

next i start pulse firing and i will rotate the wick slightly till i see the worst (if any) hotspots go away, then i use a 1 mm flat screw driver to prod the coils to glowing perfection.. there is usually very little to be done there..

the final step i use is to take my liquid and drip it directly on the coil then i burn it off. i repeat this about a dozen times soaking the wick then burning.

fill the tank.. take a few primer puffs.. no metal taste.

this is a 1/16 ss rope with ss mesh with .8mm kanthal. tried to emulate the microcoil and came out to .9 ohms this was by far the best coil i experienced however it had slight leaking issues from the wick hole since the wick was so small.

I had a problem when I started using mesh. For 2 days I couldn't figure out what was wrong. After ripping out my 3rd coil in 2 days it dawned on me, I never torched the mesh and it probably still had some type of oil or residue of some kind on it. Recoiled, got the hot spots out, filled the tank and primed the wick, and the taste was great... I have switched to SS rope wrapped in mesh since then, taste is pretty much the same, but wicking increased incredibly...

So now I consider my RSST fully tuned to my likes:

1.5ohm micro using 26g nichrome, 400 SS wick, and tiny bits of cotton to prevent excess juice from being all over the deck. Lights up fast on Magneto and eGo, makes enough vapor for my likes, tastes just fine. And if I want to tinker more, I got 10' of the 26g and 20' of 28g to play with.
