Still rather new with the rda's, but found my new sweet spot; as close to 1ohm as possible. My setup is as basic as you can get, smok Magneto V2 with an igo-w. Coiling is very basic too, simple dual 10 wrap micro coil on 1/16th pin w/ 30g Kanthal. Run the cotton wicks pretty loose, there is little bit resistance, but you can easily pull the wick out without moving the coil.

This is all thanks to everyone at ECF, watching it on YouTube is one thing, but I quickly figured out that the fine tuning is what really counts, and the tricks and tips I learned here has made my vape journey a very pleasant one! Happy vaping!

Don't have a cam that will take them but here is a little video I shot on my Samsung Tab 3:

Checking in with some vapor production, mech + RDA - YouTube

Dude, just as a suggestion, if your really into rebuilding then it's worth your money to invest in something better then the Octopus. I own several rebuildable drippers -including the Octopus- and use them all regularly. The Octopus is the only one that sits in a drawer, unused. I don't mean to criticize -if your happy, your happy- but in my opinion the octopus is junk. Even a cheapey IGO-L is far superior, again, in my opinion.

Based on your video your doing pretty damn well with the Octopus though, so don't let me get you down.

I think he has a squid there, which I have been pretty pleased with compared to the octopus. Side air instead of that odd octopus sub-cap side feed. Nice small chamber, easy set up, no leaks. Cheap too. They are limited in build space compared to an Igo, but I have a couple that I have drilled and run dual coils on quite nicely. At the end of the day, they are aluminum and brass, so if that isn't your thing, spend a measly four more bucks and get an Igo, they are great too!

I like the Squid and other ERA clones; those small side-hole drippers are my main jam. Simple single micro coil wicked with cotton. Never could get the flavor of a Squid or IGO-S in an IGO-L or other big dripper. The Octopus.. yeah, didn't care for it at all, just collecting dust.

Small chamber attys are the best in my opinion. I had my cloud chasing phase with huge air holes and lackluster flavor and now its a whole new world. Vaping on my cyclone atty on my reo grand and i could be happier. I dont even use my large chamber attys anymore. Although its all personal preference!

I have tons of attys that sit in my rack I made and I always use the pulse gennys from fasttech with a single coil and a reducer. Can't beat the flavor. The pulse was the first atty I bought and have been let down by kraken, steam turbine, AGA'S etc. The reducer is the key.

You are good, it is the first and only dripper I have, I also have an AGA-T2 and a FT Cobra built to .8 and 1.0 respectively using 24G(AGA) and 30G(Cobra), both running Peaches & Creme cotton rope. I really want to graduate to a larger dripper considering I have to drip every 3rd hit but don't have the money to put into more vaping equipment at this time. I really love the look of the Helios but have only used Tridents(from friends) and love the way they hit. Will probably get a Trident when my wallet loosens again but time will tell. I don't mind opinions and criticism so feel free broski :toast:

Speaking of "simple setups," let's see some more Kayfun builds. I'm having a devil of a time with my clone. It's got no QC issues, everything threads fine but I'm just having a REAL hard time getting my cotton-and-micro coil to wick. I'm in the Death Valley of Dry Hit City. I'll post photos of my best/current setup as soon as I can.

I've watched several videos (Grimm's, Todd's, and Phil's) and I think I'm following all the steps. Wick isn't too tight, it's cut so the tails rest against the post-base, not obstructing the channels. If I give it a REALLY hard pull, I get a few SUPER GREAT vapes. This happens whether I have the airflow totally screwed in OR not even there. I'm scratchin' my head. I've got my Foggers and Taifun GT (clones) working great.....

All clones. Except the Fogger, I guess.....?

This is pretty much my only active hobby so it's where my post-bill-paying funds go.
