What the problem with em is for you?

Aside from the vape being a tad cool for my taste - which I could live with, especially with the Phoenix, which has really good flavor - they inevitably dump on me. As far as I could tell, I did everything right with Phoenix, and still, on the first refill, dumpage. On three of them in a row. I'm afraid to put them on the batt anymore. :(

I'm pretty darned sure it's user error - I just got too mad at the situation to pursue it further and went back to my Stardusts.

I'm curious why, also Briar ? I personally love the BC's and never had one single dry hit with them. For me anyway, they all need a little breaking in to reach max flavor. I'm going to give the TC's a try soon, just to see what's up. I do miss some of the warmer vape, but can't deal with dry hits to get it

OPPPS posted to late !!

My mom has been using Phoenixes for a month or so. Actually, she's been using MY Phoenixes  I tell her how to clean them and it goes right out of her head. Heck, if she tried to take one apart there's no telling what might happen. So, I trade her a clean one for the one she's using about once a week. I'm an awesome daughter, I know.

ANYWAY! I was actually going somewhere with that  My mom has run into issues with them flooding on her. Well, she didn't realize it was flooding and thought that it was broken because she couldn't get hardly any vapor from it. I took it off the battery, turned it upside down and flicked it a few times like a thermometer to get the juice away from the base. Then, while it was upside down, I blew it out while I held a paper towel over the threaded end. This is THE way to clear out flooding. Always turn it upside down because you don't want to blow the juice in the tank through it! I don't remember who it was that gave me that tip, but thank you!!

So, once I'd cleared out the flood, I looked it over and figured out what was happening. When she filled it, she wasn't taking the needle out straight. So she was pulling the seal out bit by bit every time she took the needle out. It didn't even move off of the post all the way, but it was enough to cause problems. This probably has nothing at all to do with what you're issue is, but ya never know!

If I know you, you've watched the video and you're filling it properly. Are you filling it up all the way? If I fill mine really high, it will almost definitely dump. Not a full on dump, but a dump nonetheless. I try to get it just to the point where the post widens and no higher. Others fill it to the seam where the post meets the cup.

The first thing I'd do is take it apart completely, tube and all, and then put it back together and try again. I'd love for you to love these!

Oh yeah, that would stink big time briar! I haven't had any dump, but did have some flood, but then got them working. Some are a bit cantankerous after I refill, but I just keep vaping and they straighten up so I've been very lucky with them. I like the cooler vape, but usually have to take a primer puff to get the TH I want. That's been my biggest issue with them. But mostly I love em.

Very good info Bonny. Thanks!!! I gotta copy that somewhere before I lose it.

Now if you were a really, really awesome daugter you would just keep her supplied with fresh full ones every week or so. that way she wouldn't have to fiddle with them.
Just kidding Bonnie. Just brought back thoughts of my mom, God bless her soul.

Just to make sure I'm picturing this right...... after you flick it, when you blow it out.... do you put your head back to hold it straight up and down with the thread ends up and blow from the silicone cap end though the batt end? Or do you just hold it basically parallel to the floor and still blow from the fill end through the batt end?

I've also noticed when I use the syringe end to push the cap back down, I look and make sure one end isn't higher than another. Just sort of slowly spin it, and see if I notice a difference. Also there were some that I refilled, took a toot or two and thought, well this isn't working. No vapor, not flavor no nothing really. One time I fixed this by turning my battery back on (hehehe oopsy) several other times I fixed it by just continuing to take some more (5-10) toots, and it finally woke up and said.... oh hey..... you want me to work huh?? Alrighty then here ya go! And they worked great.

I hold it with the threads facing the ceiling, drip tip to mouth, head tilted back like I'm trying to see if I can hit the roof with the juice

I mentioned this in another thread but I found the best thing ever for always getting the rubber seal back in perfectly. Try using the fat end of the post from another Phoenix!! Perfect fit, easy to apply the same amount of pressure at every point. :p I have some spares lying around now that my uncle gave me the Phoenixes that broke on him.

Edited to add: Deb (and anyone else who wants to know) how high you tilt it when you blow it out isn't really that important. Just so long as the threaded end is higher than the other end. Otherwise, you're just blowing more juice into the airway since it's all located at the bottom of the carto.

Actually, I did something similar this morning. I got a new box of phoenixes and gave her a brand new one plus the two that work great out of the stash I had. I try to do more but she won't let me.

That's great. I am sure she appreciates it. I used to just leave things lying around at her place and let her find them. It would take a bit of the stubborness out of the situation.
I hope my daughters do the same for me down the road, although this generation is on a whole differnt level. All I can do is hope a spark of myself is burried deep inside them.
