Early 2013 I got a big bag of, what is called here, barber's cotton wool. I didn't know at the time it was rayon (although there is a cotton version as well). Lasted me a long time. But after I started wicking with cotton, because I didn't know which brand I needed, didn't have contact with the guy who gave it to me. I just started getting used to using muji and I had so much of it. But I'm so glad I rediscovered rayon, thanks to this thread. Got a big bag and I'm never going back!

Yup! I was lucky enough to discover the Jeremy's original Rayon thread only a few months into my rebuilding career back in the spring of 2014. Once I tried rayon, I never looked back.

Anyone need any six year old KGD pads?
After 6 years I would think they've collected moisture, unless they are sealed? I just bought a fresh "Box" because it seems like it higher quality, less seeds and less yellow tint than the bulk packages. Not much difference in flavor though.

I'm a taker though, if it has been sealed relatively well. I'll even pay for shipping.

I really like rayon for clean juices but since I vape primarily NET's I found that rayon, because you have to pack it a little tighter seems to clog up quicker with NET's. The flavor is still really good, it just doesn't last as long. I found that ekowool also works surprisingly well with NET's when combined with vertical coil builds like in the Marquis.

I still have a little bit of everything sitting around from the early vaping experimentation day's. Hard and soft ceramic, readyX, ramie, cilica, bamboo, and probably others tucked away deeper in my stash and memory.

I still use Rayon when I get flavor burnout, its great and a build seems to last forever when vaiping NF. :)

I'll have to have a look at the packaging. Some of it is in PA and some it it is in FL, and right now I'm half way in between, and will for about a week before heading the rest of the way to FL.

Yes it does. I'm averaging 3 months or so on a wick on my ADV mod with unflavored juice.

Well not much more than a month later, and somebody clicking Like on the above post reminded me to check what I have here in FL. An almost full box of 80 KGD pads. It's been in a drawer, but it was not sealed in any way. Somehow, I thought I had more than one box here, but give that it's been more than six years since I used the stuff, I wasn't really keeping track of inventory.

In my frequently used equipment lineup I have a few pod devices, Some rebuildable AIOs, 10 or so RTAs, and half dozen or more Squonkers, but I couldn't tell you how many times I have had to hunt for a device that DOESN'T need a rebuild!!!

About the only time I sit down and really do some work is when I'm going out of town...and then I go WAY overboard!! (I mean really, who needs 10 fresh set-ups and 20 charged batteries for a 3 day weekend?!!)

I suspect its still good. I'd still be interested. Shipping is cheaper than buying a new box.

After reading this thread the other day, I did break out my rayon and stuffed a couple of builds. It worked out pretty good. Because I vape NET's I pretty much rewick every day so in the end it doesn't really matter which cotton I go with, they're both good. But if I get lazy on the weekends, the KGD lasts a little longer.

Someone like me, making sure I'll never be tempted back to combustibles! Heck, I don't go out to cut the grass without two ;)

So I just got 40 feet of Rayon (already love it... someone gave me a sample to try) It's Grahams... is Sally's any better?
As @Rossum will probably chime in, the Tidi balls rayon is the "good stuff" compared to the proletariat grahams. Harder to source I'm told.

Yeah, I do like the Tidi balls better. They seem to be a higher quality fiber and I find them to have a cleaner initial taste, with less break-in needed on a new wick, but the downsides are sourcing them, and the fact that they are somewhat harder to work with (gotta unroll the balls).

I love my rayon... but yesterday I tried using silica string in my tiny RBA pod coils and it works great! I was cleaning out the old vape stash and found all different sizes if these and had to try it.
The first dedicated e-liquid vape I bought myself this decade to get back into it was the boulder rock. It's a JuuL -styled pod stick that uses silica wick. Gotta say, great flavor and lasted quite a while.

I used to rebuild those pods. I used silica and rayon on some. Worked great with both.
