Thinning isn't really necessary with this wick, but to allow more juice flow from the tank... I just wicked it and cut flush... Trim some out if needed, with 100vg I may take a slice off the side of the wick to open the flow in the channel a little more for me when it's cooler outside..

Next time I recoil I'm going to try moving the coil up higher again, and plan on a partial angle cut to drape the wick down to the channels and keep it away from the top cap and possibly reducing air flow.

That looks like a cotton build to me. With rayon, I'd leave the tails a little longer, thin them out by about 75% and then run them into the juice channels. Pretty much the same thing that I do with the Silver Play V2... only difference is that the SP is a dual coil atty.

Rebuilt the Stumpy. 26ga NiChrome, 3.8mm I.D. 8-9 wrap, 1.08Ω. Used the full strip of Sally's and just pulled/stretched it to get the right density. Running it at 40W right now and have about 10mL through it. So far so good... this is the largest coil I think I've ever built!

Yep, that's how I'm running mine, too. Wide bore DT and 2 air holes on each side. Bumped it to 50W yesterday and went to the vape shop. On the T-Mod, it outperformed the tech's RX200 on cloud production and flavor with dual clapton build in some kind of RDA that I've never seen... he was pushing 125W.

Then he told me that rayon sucks.... Really? Whatcha think I just kicked yer .... with?

Huh... It could be rayon. Just not how I would have wicked it, personally... in my experience, those tails would give me dry hits on every third hit...

I had to go get my wife some vitamin D (doctor's orders), so I pick up a 100 count of NatureMade tablets. Lo and behold, there was a nice big ~8" long piece of rayon inside...pretty sure. Burn test smelled right and reduced to very little white ash. I also took a look at it with my hand held Silver Burdett & Ginn 30X illuminated microscope and if it's cotton it's impeccably clean cotton.

I haven't had the chance to try the pharmeceutical pill bottle rayon before. I think I'll give it a whirl in the Bachelor tank this evening. Woohoo!

It should be rayon, if it squeaks against your fingers it's rayon. Cotton doesn't do that.

Yep, it was pretty damn funny... he moved to the other end of the counter shortly after that. I ended up talking to one of the other guys there (I've gotten to know him pretty well over the last year or so). We talked about builds and stuff for about an hour... actually got him to rewick his atty with some rayon and he seemed to be pretty happy with it. We'll see if he's still running it when I drop by next time.

Sounds good as long as the bottle didn't have any off smell. If the smell is neutral it looks like you may have identified a bottle rayon source again.
