Oh I answer to many things, most of them unprintable here.

I don't love the term Renaissance vapers if only because if you like, check history, that means you have to be all around great at A JILLION things. I mean, look a Leonardo de Vinci.

To be a Renaissance vape you'd have to post your art, your philosophy, your music and whatever else, and I'm just like, "Oh great, another thread I can't keep up with because I work." LOL.

OOOH.... maybe that DOES make me the Ultimate Reneasance vaper. I vape, I work, I write poetry in my spare time I could post it here. I also cook (now) because I am up in the apartment that I live in, plus I have never killed another motorist (that I know of) and I do yoga at least 5 times a week.

I still think well, IDK, something about it rubs me the wrong way. I do prefer MTL because it's just more utilitarian and avoids all that dang watt comparison stuff. You can MTL at a more variable set of wattages. I have one tank now at about 20, even though my usual is about, like say 9 watts, etc.

When I was new to vaping and had found ECF I did a lot of reading/posting in the tootle puffer thread as I vape low watts and MTL,at the time I thought tootle puffer was a common term.I went to a bricks and morter vape shop here in town and it seemed everything I saw was geared to the big CLOUDS dtl stuff.So...I ask the person behind the counter got any "Tootle Puffer" type atomizers... and the sales person gave me a What the flug ar you talking about buddy look ....

I realized right then and there the term Tootle Puffer is unknown outside of ECF...Lesson Learned...Whenever I'm in a vape shop or talking about vaping to others "I vape mouth to lung"! :)

It was just "Vaping" when I started. No labels. There were "fanboy" and "fangal" for certain Vendors.
The ProVarinati were "stuck up", and the Reonauts were a "cult like following".
There were e-liquid vendors that had faithful followings : Heather'sHeavenly Vapes, Ahlusion, Alice in Vapeland, Mrs. T's Bakery, etc. Some have fallen by the wayside.
But back when, it was just a reprieve from tobacco, and we were all grateful as hell for it.

My first device looked like a cigarette. Shortly after smoking in restaraunts in my state was banned the Mrs and I would pull out our Fumas and puff away. We (as in me) would get the biggest kick out of watching other patrons eyes get big like coffee saucers in horror, mothers clutching their children, and managers whispering in our ear "excuse me sir but smoking is no longer allowed here".

At a Golden Corral one such manager was so intrigued by the thing he stuck around asking questions about it.

Back then you bought a device at a cigarette store. The fancy term was "digital" cigarettes if I recall correct. I don't know what was in them back then but one or two drags kept you buzzing for 30 minutes or more.

Back then we all thought "eh, it's a fad; they'll never catch on".

WAIT!
We've now got ANOTHER Tootle Puffers thread????
Freakin' people are EVERYWHERE! ;)

Not really. The Tootle Puffer Thread is a polite and thoughtful long running thread by the lovely Kat.
This is more of a "Grumpy Old Man" thread.

I never liked the term tootle puffer either, simply because it sounds strange to me. I prefer MTL … It's not important what we call it just so long as all of us know what it is.

@PapawBrett mentioned 15 to 20 watts..... Seems a bit high to me but since I am a new convert to MTL from sub-ohming then I may be wrong. I have been using around 8 or 9 watts and it suits me fine on the tank I am using. Battery charge lasts a long time too.

YOUR job, Ax, is to go back to April 14, 2015, and begin the journey from where it began, then report back in FULL detail. ;)

For the record, I'M KIDDING. Please don't...

Are YOU a Tootle Puffer??

I consider it Immaturity. 'Tootle Puffer' sounds like something originated by one with the Emotional Maturity of a 14 year old. Middle School mentality.
Think "Disney on Parade".

it was because MTL vapers didn't have a title

the thought was that "sub ohmers" are easily identified, and "normal vapers" had nothing, so "tootle puffer" was born

and i think it predated the term "MTL"

For those who either don't remember (or are just unfamiliar), the term was initially an off-cuff mention, and was used somewhat disparagingly.

From there, one member (I can't recall her name) kind of latched onto it, and decided to use it, somewhat as a lark (and definitely on a whim). She wondered if vape had passed her by, and simply wanted to find out if there was anyone still around who still vaped like she did.

From what I recall, she expected the following:

1. Crickets
2. Anyone who DID come into the thread would surely be doing so just to make fun
3. The thread would die on the vine, most likely that very night.

Yet, here were are, 4.5 years later, STILL talking about, with a thread "series" that's now on installment #3 (and still running). Runaway train.

@Katdarling - no more threads, you. ;)

Sincerely,
~Hu Gnu

Oh! I forgot the best part (IMO). Some time later, somehow THIS popped up on Aspire's blog page.

what’s a tootle puffer? Are YOU a Tootle Puffer?? | Aspire blog

To this day neither Kat nor I know HOW it transpired, but it did. Obviously SOMEONE from ECF sent it to Aspire (for reasons I'll probably never know), but to say she was shocked would be a significant understatement. Shocked and confused (still are, kinda).

Someone sent us a link and I laughed so hard that, well, thank gawd I was younger then. ;)

The pic was compliments of @5cardstud , who had/has a way with such things. I think he probably posted it in the original TP thread, but I don't even remember for sure anymore.

Merry Christmas, everyone. May peace, happiness, and health find a home with each of you.

Until we meet again....("Ho, Ho, Ho!")

Oh, so Kat invented the name (I should have known LOL) …. I love Kat to pieces, but the name she invented, not so much ….. But, it's not her fault as she did it on a whim... It seems to me that it is the fault of the members of the forum for allowing it to stick ;)

I don't care what you call me, just don't call me "late for dinner"...

The name is NOT important, but being off tobacco products (smoking or chewing) is important.

EDIT: It's a good thing you said you were kidding otherwise I probably would have made a report.
