And why, Janusz, is the EVL a better version of the Dogger to you?

Doggy 2.5mm hole under coil gives nice loose MTL but with EVL 2.7mm I get better RDTL. And if I wish to have tighter MTL smaller holes on AF ring a can be set to tighter draw much easier... AF ring on doggy was useless for me I do not even put it in on tank.

Both Doggy and EVL are bottom filling tanks but EVL do not require inserting tiny screwdriver into AF slot to unscrew tank.... I know you can screw tank that do not require to do it but I dumped half of tank on my mod trying unscrew tank from mod not realizing I am unscrewing the way that deck will stay on mod.

Building deck is wider and that allow bigger diameter coils to be used...without worrying coil to touch post... even 2.5 ID was chalenge for my eyes on Doggy... on EVL I can instal 3mm much easier.

Draw on EVL is much smoother for me... flavor as good or even better.

Tails on wicks on EVL are much shorter and it is very easy to wick... and EVL wicks fantastic... even with 3mm ID coils... it is first tank I can use on all my mods in TC mode... on doggy I had no luck with TC and I atribute it to inconsistent wicking...

juice flow control on EVL that is feared by some people do not add any complexity to atty it is very simple and easy to use... it is not big deal for me but it is nice thing to have if somebody uses thinner juice or leave atty for prologed time without vaping.

There are some things that may annoy some people... for example AFring that is totally loose when unscrewing tank from mod or inability change AF holes on AF ring without unscrewing tank from mod but those things does not bother me... I think Doggy have those annoying things too.

Why thank you! Marvelously complete answer, and appreciated. I noticed or thought I did, that there are a few versions of this tank. Is there a fave here somewhere? A clear tank perhaps?

(Links appreciated)

So, Mel, are you anywhere near your Hastur? Can't wait to hear your thoughts... :)

Me too, then I can decide on which of the 3 attys to get

I gotta say though, considering we are in an extreme minority of a draw preference (@NolaMel calls it the Goldilocks draw ;)) it is AWESOME to have so many RTA choices now

Right. That's why I have such high hopes for the Hastur--I like those inserts. My sweet spot is somewhere between 2 and 2.5 mm... Most of the time. ;)

Tomorrow night. We’re still two states apart :(. But, it (or something from China) is waiting at my house. Watch the sky for fireworks around dusk... if I open the package and it’s the wrong thing, I may implode .

I swear, it is Goldilocks!!!!! ... how many too tight, too loose, not enough flavor tanks have we all gone through trying to find that magic tank? I’ve had better luck from this forum than from a zillion reviews/videos. But, I’m getting nervous about the Hastur. I may legitimately cry if I don’t like it, I waited so long for it to arrive. But, hope springs eternal...On the plus side, I can pretty much count on liking one if @Opinionated does. I’m hanging my hat on that.

Oh blame me why don't you? hahaha..

Nah, I really do like it. It's super easy to build, and the airflow inserts gives you the goldilocks moment for airflow - something I had never found before the Hastur, although I have it in the silverplay as well.

The flavor is really good, but it's not as good as the silverplay. I swear the flavor is phenomenal in that one, but the Hastur isnt bad at all..

You should be happy with it..

I’m not blaming you !!! Through trial and error I’ve found a handful of people whose vaping preferences are close to mine. Certainly helps in choosing gear :)

    So which rta is Goldilocks?
To me, it’s whatever falls in the grey area of too loose for true mtl, too tight for true dl but with mtl flavor. Not asking for much here ...just create a whole new category and gear to go with it ;). For me, Fresia and Silverplay are most used for rtas, zenith for a dropin coil. I love my doggies, just hate bottom fill ( lazy lazy)

Yeah................................. I found another one I want to have............:-x and this one can be of interest to both... tight draw lovers (0.8mm, 1.5mm hole under coil) or RDTL lovers (2.7mm hole under coil). Interesting thing about this tank is you can change those inserts with tank full of juice without opening tank or removing coil. Luckily for me this tank is available now only from UK so I have time to save money for it... although it is not very expensive tank I already spent all my allowance on Fresia , EVL and couple other things.

Built one of the Hasturs when we got home. A) I’m exhausted. B) I don’t fly well, so I’m a tad medicated. Finally got it built, then remembered it has af inserts . Vapes lovely as is. Tomorrow I’ll tackle it with a clear head and see if there’s even anything in the bloody af hole. Who knows at this point, but it didn’t choke me out

If anyone is interested... I ordered from here, since China was back order, back order, ship by one winged carrier pigeon. Since they arrived, and in timely fashion, I rate them ok to order from. Hastur $23, silver only. Sorry, I think I bought the last black one. Cheaper than China to boot!Cthulhu Hastur RTA |
