Geez, it took me awhile to find this post but I had to come back and say.......I finally had time to take a good look at the Silverplay when I needed to rewick. I had the coil placed way too far up for my liking for some reason. Lowered it back down and now we're talkin'! Much more flavor than before. Glad I remembered this thread with your comment. I was positive I had built it the way I usually do.....can't trust my own brain these days.

Classic eNZed lighting.Cthulhu hastur mtl RTA landed in NZ and so far it's a winner. Easiest deck to throw in a coil, very similar to the Fresia deck. Wicking a piece of cake - insert, cut, shove - no thinning needed even with 3mm id coil.
No dry hits, plenty of flavour - it's a bit thirsty tho, which is the only issue I've had.
Top fill works flawlessly, not a gurgle, even with airflow open. No leaks.
It's a tall RTA, 3.5ml - but bubble glass from the reload RTA apparently fits.

I was going to suggest the Serpent SMM. I used it with dual core Fused claptons at .5ohms and 30W flavor was quite good.The 2k16 was my first rta, so it's hard to be objective
Love my Hastur mini. I use 26ga in mine. Do you think a clapton would fit in it? Haven't seen the MTL clapton wire yet, so I'm not sure. I would love to use clapton wire in it.It's still awesome - I've had not a single issue from it at all. No dry hits, no leaking, no gurgling, it is completely hassle-free full on flavour
And I've not had to fluff around with its wicking either - it's a stuff, cut and away ya go RTA. Been using a 3mm id 28 ga ss316l, but just as good with a 2.5mm id - it would possibly be even better with a mtl clapton.

So now I looked and the SMM is quite different than the mini. I swapped the DT on mine for a more standard sized 510.
I put a mtl fused clapton in my Hastur. Worked fine. I think I have a 3mm regular coil in it atm
Maybe I'll give it a try. I have 26ga round wire in mine now. It is working great as it is. I'm curious about that wire though

Yes, you need to be careful about FT orders. They will stipulate whether a product is ready to ship next day or not. "Or not" can mean in 2 days or more. You can always ask them before placing the order.Hey thanks for that and good to hear that you're still liking it
I ordered the Hastur last week from FT when they said it was "In stock" and guess what? It's not! They pushed the shipping out six days, and today I check my order and its been pushed out a further eight days - grrr. I don't mind the delays but I've been having second thoughts on my impulsive (at the time) purchase and might cancel it and put the cash towards another RTA that has since caught my eye. Dunno, I might sleep on it lol
the main thing I don't like about claptons is the slow ramp up - but with wire that thin, it will hit pretty quickly.
