Really?
If more people thought that way, those women and children in Ariel Castro's house in Cleveland would still be living in captivity.
You know, all those neighbors were intent on minding their own business and all.
I guess I don't get the over-intensive "need for privacy" that some people seem to have.
Growin up in the 50s, if I was roller skating too fast, the neighbor would call my Mom. this is PRECISELY what kept neighborhoods safe for kids to play in.......and the kids safe. the neighbors actually CARED if I broke my neck, or broke somebody elses.
People were not selfishly "minding their own business" and I think this concept has gone WAY too far and hasn't made anything better at all....it's made everything much much worse. YOur children arent' even safe to walk home from school or play outside, cuz everhyone is busy "minding their own business".
I have no problem making a citizen's arrest if I ever have to. Hopefully I never have to do that, although I did call the sheriiff on 911 when I saw a car swerving a lot the other day...... Was kinda worried they were drunk and might kill somebody after they drove by me. I would have felt pretty bad about that so I did call and give the sheriff a heads up.
It has always been my idea that people who are OVERLY intent of closed curtains and privacy might actually have something to hide. I am a law abiding citizen and for 60 years thus far, have really never felt that my privacy was overly challenged. Except when my credit card was hacked after buying ecig products....
It's sad the 50s and 60s will never return, and that is because everyone hides inside or in their high fenced backyards and people don't even seem to like each other anymore.
