I finally underwicked something with rayon. Of course, replacing it I managed to break a tank and cut up my hands. Did do yoga tho, 2 days in a row! I am on the mend.

Man, my husband had the day from hell. He's having plumbing issues and issues with Lowes. I really hate Lowes, they mess up every order including listing in their catalog a wall tub faucet, as a tub mount faucet, and the "converter" piece costs over $100. This was after sending us the wrong thing with parts missing.

LOLZ, I went in there and was like-- mount it on the wall, dude. That's easy enough especially since we're replacing the tub itself at some point. I was trying to talk the husband down from the edge after he went to 6 plumbing supply places and after taking a day last WEEK to fix the FIRST order, I was like, "Let's just build a wall, it's easier, and you won't have to move it if you shove it in "that" corner.

I'm highly dubious that I will even get the chance to say "yep" at him this evening. I really want to, but I can be patient. LOL.

Lowe’s is good by me. There’s an older hippie woman in plumbing. She found me my parts, walked me through everything, even hooked me up with some YouTube in case I got stuck.

She helped me replace my kitchen faucet, fix the drip in the bathroom, and replace the flush knob on my toilet.

But I feel for your hubby... plumbing is the worst. I throw more than my share of fits doing it.

Speaking of Lowes, I’ll be heading there tomorrow looking for a leaf blower. I really hate yard work. I did the weed trimmer today and my arms are crying. I may have to buy myself something shiny so I feel better, lol.

Today I had a KFL start leaking on my fingers. Eventually figured out it was the plastic tank section. I must have dropped it, the plastic part was stuck at a slight angle to the metal part so the black o-ring was visible at one side. In the end I had to grab the plastic section with channel locks to get it out. The metal part was fine though, and I have a big bag of plastic tank sections.

Apart from a handful of o-rings and screws that's the first time I've had to dig into the spare parts tub. It made me feel better about the huge amount of spares I've put away. Not to mention the large quantity of KFL's I picked up. Right now you can still get all that stuff but I expect that to change in my lifetime. It would probably happen even without the FDA just because new gear comes out and old gear goes away.

I think about trying some other tanks like the ones folks have been talking about here recently. But then I would have to start worrying again about spares and backups and so forth. I do wonder whether my vaping routine would be different if Deeming hadn't happened. If we knew stuff would go on being available indefinitely there would be less pressure to settle on a small selection of gear and accumulate it.

All I have is KFL's, Lemos, Pro Tanks and Nautilus. Tubs full of them with spare parts. Those at the only tanks I've ever used. The good thing is I figured them out really well. But I do miss the process of figuring out new gear. I guess getting a new tank would be OK. Vaping is great but there's something missing when you stop buying new stuff.

Plumbing is hell for sure. There are so many different parts. Even if you can pick them up from the tray it's hard to tell unless you're a plumber. In my last but one job I went to Lowes at least once a day for ten years and I did a lot of plumbing. I still got confused sometimes.

A few weeks ago I had to replace a valve in my old kitchen faucet. Should have been a 20 minute job but it took most of a day because the generic valve I had to buy didn't quite fit. I was ready to beat on it with the big wrench.

At the vape store I met somebody that makes me feel better about my shinyitis... Did you know there are people that enter randomizer drawings and can pay $100-500 for custom (keyboard) keys? There are also things called “key meets”...
Geekhack.org Scroll down to Keycon 2017

Shinyitis takes all forms. Look at some of price tags on vintage clothes sometime.

Sweet! I think I like big coils better in single setups. Seems like they work better to me. Those were too nice to not use.

He was surprised when I mentioned repurposing, they were right there with standard fused claptons for him. He did give me a gold star for catching a mess up and said “you are the kinda vaper we like in here, we like our customers to be knowledgeable with safety.” Then he gave a few Darwin Award candidates, like the guy who melted the copper ground wire in a DotMod!

He said In the 0.06 build the numbers were a bit misleading because of the kanthal wire and large flat wire, there is a slower ramp time, so it was possible to vape.

He smirked when I said how I was hitting it because I was correctly following the steps of how not to blow myself up on the build and how to keep the battery safe and cool.

I repurposed one of the big alien coils and I like it better in the SQ with single coil. The first pic of the coil looked like 2 Claptons wrapped with flat wire. People have started pushing amp ratings pretty hard again. One of the people at a shop here was using 4 wrap 18ga. Duals in an 18650 tube mod. Not doing the math right now but that is loooooooow. Hopefully he isn't building like that for customers. .06 isn't in the grey area. It is quite low. I have 5 wrap dual fused Claptons in the DR now and they are at .19 and they chuck clouds. Not too bad on battery life either. The guy who melted the wire is lucky that wasn't a tube mod. Full mechanicals are not that forgiving. There is no wire to melt or break. The body of a mech is the path to ground. I have had hot spots and buttons a couple times in the past. They can go south real fast. He could have ended up in the emergency room if it was a tube mech. Had a Smok Magneto's plastic plug s threads give out and the spring forced the button together. Didn't notice until it burned the cotton and started venting. Put the contents of the battery through the RDA. Gave me a healthy respect for batteries and mechanical mods.

Dots are full mech, there is no safety or mosfet switch, ground wire is not there to protect from stupidity it keeps on hitting if the ground wire melts. Dude wrapped 28ga around a 24ga core.

Mech tubes, the positive should be facing the button, away from the face towards the vent holes.
