BTW, I still live in VA but am in the DC Metro area.

Sorry to hear that. My sincerest condolences on dealing with the worst traffic outside of Houston.

I lived in Alexandria from 2003-2005. Commuted from Old Town to Ft. Belvoir and made a small fortune on per diem expenses.

Love Old Town Alexandria. I am in suburbs. I commuted to downtown DC for years and it was horrible. My poor husband still does. I-95 is literally a parking lot about 75% of the time, both northbound and southbound. Some days you just can't win. There are some big benefits to living here so it is a tradeoff I suppose.

between here and there
If only a minor consolation, please take comfort in the fact that there are no more federal holidays between now and Memorial Day, the last Monday in May.
Not so.....You have presidents day Feb 19, and Easter comes to mind.
And i think 1 more....have to look it up.

I love that I get to live colorfully vicariously thru you and @SnapDragon NY. Where's our sis by the way? Been missing her.:(

I was wondering the same thing. I will PM her later and see how she is. Have been meaning to do that anyway.

Man are you kidding me? I miss DC traffic SO MUCH!!!! OMG, compared to Tucson, it was fantastic. Everyone was in a hurry, knew how to drive, traffic lights were set optimally to GET places, not "calm traffic" seriously HERE they freaking... DELIBERATELY make you stop at every traffic light if it's not rush hour to CALM THINGS DOWN.

ON PURPOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!! You literally have to drive double the speed limit to avoid red lights and that is practically impossible at ALL.

I just drove over Gate's Pass (scenic, usually non-trafficked route) and there was an ILLEGAL and HUGE RV with "Celebrate Recovery Billie and Matttie" on it, and it was towing another CAR and going about 12 MPH and I really wanted to RAM IT.

I DREAM of swapping half the Tucson and Balt/MD drivers to either location and watching the resultant carnage, I really DO.

I MISS high speed dominos on the beltway, that never happens HERE. Everyone's all weaving and/or passive aggressive and hang out in the left lane because they are turning left... in 12 miles.

I would give almost ANYTHING sometimes for rush hour traffic in Baltimore as I putter at 12 miles an hour behind an illegal "Recovery" RV that really should have fallen off the road, but it didn't.

I was taking that route to go home FASTER. FASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
