I wasn't raised on Jiffy cb and the first time I tasted it only good manners kept me from spitting it out. Since moving down here I have learned to tolerate it when I must but it has never been served in my home. It it just so very sweet. I won't eat cream corn either btw. People down here love both and add sugar to everything, even green beans.

My mom is from the KY hills and it's what she always used. To me it is the best. I tried yellow meal a couple of times and it was good but the texture and taste didn't come close compared to white.

By the way... I made red beans n' sausage last night.

On the side: corn bread from scratch with corn meal, flour, unsalted butter, yard eggs and whole milk.

There were no leftovers.
