Start up costs will pay for themselves in a couple months. One thing I wish is that I had started mixing by weight from day one.
yup, totally. weight is the way to go. VG is far too viscous for me to be messing around with syringes, measuring tubes etc.

Sounds great. I think it's time. Now to find the best thread to learn.

I can't really mix very much right now because I'm going to be moving weekend after next. So, now's a good time for research instead of action.
Honestly there isn't much to learn. Just remember to hit that tare button after each ingredient or you'll have to do some math. The math is easy tho. You'll only forget a time or two, believe me. lol

Saw your new recipes. Was wondering how the shisha flavors are working out for you?

vapes? great. TC is accurate though i'm not using it much currently. fires quickly. nice feel to the button which is quite comfy using thumb or finger. nice weight to it despite the wood. batteries fit nicely and there's a ribbon to aide removal. the looks? oh yeah. for me at least it's a stunner.
three niggles...well just two that'll be ongoing. there's some play on the battery panel. it doesn't rattle if the mod is shaken but i can feel it move under my fingers sometimes. also it's difficult to remove if you have no nails (i don't). third niggle which isn't, now, ongoing. there was blue film stuck over the ultroner badge which was rather difficult to remove. felt like i was going to end up scratching the wood. 5 minutes of careful picking got it but why was it even there in the first place? hmph.
pleased? yes i am. roll on two years.

Really? Everything i’ve heard start up gets in 3 figures fast. Not sure how you could recoup that in a few months.. I.e. scales, bottles, nic VG,PG, and and and

I started with about $30. I got 120 mls each of nic (100mg/ml) pg and vg, and a few flavors and a couple of bottles.

I got lucky and had good results right away.

I started because there were not many good juices I could find, and my favorite was discontinued. I wasted so much money on awful juice...

It didn’t start out as a labor of love, but I really enjoy it now. I know we all say, oh the money you’ll save! But that’s just what we say to justify buying a cabinet full of flavors lol. Although it is true.

So other than trial and error what else determines if a juice needs to steep or not and for how long? I read somewhere that steeping requires that you shake the liquid once per week or more

My thoughts on steeping.

Don’t take it so seriously. There’s no magic formula. People buy commercial juice all the time and never know what day it was made or if any one ever shook it or whatever.

Make it, taste it, shake it and taste it again. I’m just in a habit now of mixing when I’m down to my last 30 mls of something. Then I make 120 of each of my three advs plus one base, which I use to try new flavors, or mix up something I’m out of.

I put the finished juices in small bottles, get my 120s cleaned and ready to mix, and have at least 30-60 mls left of each flavor to use while the new batch sits.

Usually that’s plenty of time for the ones that need to steep.

I think we give the impression that its all so much more complex than that. It’s not. Calculate, measure, and take notes with precision. Everything else is easy.

Good morning!

I slept 5.5 hours! Unbelievable! I started reading Michael Connelly’s Black Echo last week, picked it up last night and read about 60 pages. Slept like a log. That’s what I’ve been doing wrong, not reading! I actually slept long enough to dream for once. I dreamed someone cleaned my oven lol. I used to only have nightmares, back when I used to dream every night all night. So the oven thing is really strange.

Good morning all.

@lupinehorror Simply stunning.
some of the other, three, colours are really nice but this was the one for me. felt a bit funny not being able to see my particular grain and colours before i received it but i can't think of it being any nicer.

With 2 flavors even I don't have an excuse not to whip up a batch. I've got Butter (FA), how do you think that will fare? Maybe I'll add a wee bit of coconut and see if it it tastes like a Danish Butter Cookie, hmm.....
I haven't really seen much difference one butter to the next. I've even used McCormick extract...

Good morning shiners! Busy night here. I forgot the joy of having a hundred posts to catch up on. Today is a basic maintenance and rewicking day. Not exciting but someone's gotta do it.
this last week i kind of lost my rebuilding mojo. nothing was quite right.
did a nice bit of winding and wicking on the dead rabbit this morning so maybe i'm getting out of my funk.
may your coils be strong and your wicking material absorbent.
