Love that mod. Looks classic. But if I were to go regulated I would want a dual that could push whatever build I could put on it. I like the 250 Drone. It looks smaller and lighter than the Ohm Boy. It appears about the size of a Reauleaux which I could live with. I really like the looks of them also.
Taller, bigger, and heavier than the rx200 but not uncomfortable. Not a pocket mod by any definition. The ultem drone should be lighter weight.

I really love that mod. Looks like it is built like a tank. It has 5 clicks on/off? With a hair trigger I just can't forget to shut it off.

I purchased mine from....

Reload Squonk Mod / Black

(another shameless Canadian plug!).

He is currently sold out, but if interested drop Albert a line. No idea how much shipping would cost to LA, but willing to bet even after currency conversion this will still be much cheaper than the usual online sources. Not to mention, Albert will most likely throw in a lifetime supply of BB Vapes battery wraps, and perhaps a bunch of other stuff as well. Dude is super generous!

@Skunk!, the Drone can 510 connector can leak underneath and into the mod (not fun). Seems as though there's a seal issue with the 510 connector.

Easy fix is to use a 2.5mm ID × 1.5mm Thick o-ring and push it over the centre pin of the 510 and as far down as you can, best to do this on a table with plenty of light.

If you can find FKM or FFKM o-rings with a shore hardness of at least 70, they'll do fine. At the moment I'm using FKM with a shore hardness of 75 and no leaks, even under the RDA.

Think it was @TrollDragon mentioning the original 250 (non C) Drone also had an issue with a leaky 510. Do you have a pic of your fix?

The OG Drone has a 90° pipe that is press fit into the 510, since it's press fit this pipe will seep over time and eventually come loose enough to leak. I pulled the 510 assembly from the unit and roughed up the pipe and surrounding area with a file. Applied a fillet bead of JB Weld around the pipe where it enters the 510 and clamped it in the bench vise overnight.

Sorry, no pictures were taken and JB Weld is non toxic when cured. I contacted the company just to be sure and it's all on the outside of the pipe anyway.

I was all psyched up for the 250c Drone. Then it was delayed with the new plastic to stop the old one cracking so easily, and the Topside dual premium (now called Carbon) was announced. In a way I'm glad I waited. There have been issues described with the 510 on the Drone, some of them fixed with that o ring kludge, others within/under the plate and a trip back to Evolv for repair, and the bottle cutout being on the small side meaning with big fingers (like me) it's easy to pull the door off when you jam your thumb in there. Both are turnoffs for me. A bad 510 is a big deal to me on a squonk (or anything) and a back with too small a cutout is an issue for everyday use. Both are surmountable with fiddling, but now that new Carbon with a Yihi chip may be a better choice. I already have the 1 battery version and they share the same proprietary bottle sled setup so that a plus and it's really easy to squonk and if course fill. So we'll see when the next round of an info dump comes in.

Thanks. Was aware of the pipe, the new 250C employs the same delivery system, which was a big concern from me. But looks like @Mordacai issue is not the pipe but the interface between the 510 of the device and the 510 of the atty…or did I get that wrong?

Thanks for the info. There is a lot of Canadian gear I want so I will have to get an order together. I saw them for about $110 in US.

May I ask as what changing the atomiser would do for a seal leak issue on the centre pin of the 510 connector?

It seems to be a design fault that has never been fully addressed by LV, as there's plenty of threads all over the internet that are historic and report this issue.

Just a question. Open to the possibility that an atomizer may employ a longer than usual 510 thus put more than usual pressure on the seal. And although I have not read every thread on every forum about the LV Drone, I have seen a few - but yours is the first I have heard that is suffering from this issue. I am not saying it is not a design fault, but perhaps different atomizers could lead to different results.

Thanks. I think I will look at other mods. Shame, I really like that one but I don't like having to rig something that costs as much as the Drone.

Drone leaking issue reported on Evolv forums.
Lost Vape Drone 250C issues.

And this seems to be a historic issue that has never been resolved by LV, it seems to affect most if not all of the squonk mods they've produced.

But a 2.5mm × 1.5mm Thick FKM or FFKM o-ring with a shore hardness of 75 stops the 510 connector leaking. Since I've been using one, the mod is as dry as a bone internally and under the RDA.

So it's still kind of worth it if you can get it at a good price, and especially when you know how to resolve the leaking issue.

Efun.top has them pretty cheap. Still over a hundred bucks though. I have o rings from other stuff that is about that size. Sounds like an easy fix but it's the principle. Something as expensive as it was and as simple as a vape mod should be flawless.
