Got the Cthulhu working, had to remove the chip and bend the leaf spring up, it had lost contact.
Contact Cthulhu mods they have a replacement for the original board that has a bumper under an improved leaf contact. The OG board used the wrong metal in the leaf (it will break) and the board was not coated in case of leaks.

You can also order the updated board for a few bucks from the online majors as well.

No... Don't worry Troll dragon obviously has had a bad experience. As I said before I've had zero problems and the oring fix for any possible problems is easy.... and ensures no leaking although I've never had to do it with mine.

Go for it :)
Just saying and spreading the doom. ;)

It's good to know you guys managed a work around for something that lost vape should have addressed with the latest version.

I just get a tad salty when I spend a little under $200 on a mod and have to repair it myself due to poor design. :glare:

Yep...i've been wondering if I missed something important about the US regulations. Have they decided to stop everyone from vaping or something?...
The deeming regulations will be pushed through so the new deadline will be in 9 months now. Any companies who have not paid the ridiculous prices to have their products compliant will have the product pulled from the shelves. It's a cash grab (surprise) from our greedy government in the name of safety. If anything it will spawn a huge black market or be unenforceable as much of the stuff comes from overseas. The ones hurt by this will be American companies and the consumer. The safety advances made in the past 9 years will likely go out the window ironically in the name of protecting us....

Yep they're prone to that. Have you got the little block of silicone to jam underneath it so that it won't get so compressed?

how are the tootsies?
my M VV 2 still hasn't shipped.
Toes are several shades of purple and red but with the swelling actually feeling better. Managed getting in a few dog walks without much pain. Driving is a different animal though. Thanks for asking. Odd, I've lived most of my life barefooted whenever possible so normally don't even notice cuts and bruises on my feet, toes seem to be exempt from that perk these days.
Hate hearing about the BB not working out. I love my og mvv mods, hoping you'll enjoy the m2.

Even with the new board I am very careful of what atty I use on the Cthulhu Tube Mod. You don't want to stress that leaf contact too much.

So I use a Mod Guard or two under attys that have a long 510 pin. You can get them from Kidney Puncher in various sizes and the online majors sell them as well, they are 0.5mm thick washers from 22mm to 30mm in diameter.

I bought the second version and have never had problems so i always assumed it was sorted but I know others did have issues. I only paid 90 ish for mine :)

Looks like i'm going to get some Albert BB panels which he tells me are out at the end of this month...yeeeh :hubba: And the bantam box new plates came through last weekend. He contacted me on messenger t give me some installation tips for the plates. Said to use some tape on the back of the switch plate to be on the safe side regarding a short...thoughtful and nice guy.

I'm sitting here knee deep in the fruits of my recent spending sprees...half unpacked chinese and Canadian packets an RTA's everywhere not to mention a tower of mod boxes awaiting attention.....i'm super inundated :D I need to kick myself up the proverbial. I have been known to prevaricate from time to time. :pop:

That makes me a tad annoyed...especially the way the whole situation has been created on the basis of completely false data to suit the corrupt.....:grr::grr::grr:

Don't forget Charlie's send on postal service will be available for friends if it get's that bad ;)

Mechanical mods are something you don't want to sacrifice quality on. Spend the extra money on a high quality device. You are better off having a couple well made devices than 20 cheaply made ones. If something happens on a mech, the board won't get fried, your face will. A quality mech if taken care of will last for years, and will be much safer.

Thanks all! Yes it is the new improved board with silicone pad and coating, but the leaf spring was really smashed down into the pad. I just raised it up a bit.
Make sure you leave the battery out or back off the switch a couple of turns and then screw the atty down. Then screw in the switch until good contact is made that way you won't compress it more than you need to :)

I figure with nic in the freezer and reasonably well stocked on everything else, I can probably get new stuff I really want shipped from either the UK or Canada (probably more likely to get through customs), or try small orders from China. No matter the crackdown, customs will have a tough time figuring out what's an FDA approved item and what's not. It's hard to imagine that being a priority with them when the FDA inspectors at customs are sorting through drugs, and individual items for a retail purchaser aren't worth the effort.

If not, I can always travel up to Canada, or arrange shopping sprees in the UK. It makes no sense having to to do that, but who ever said things were done sensibly in the US.

Charlie, you're up for being an unofficial shipping agent? I doubt the US would extradite you for trial, but we can all chip in to cover the legal fees if the worst happens.

It's all good brother just the grumpy old man starting to set in here.

Albert is a hell of a guy and top shelf retailer, always throws in freebies and the more you order the more stuff he includes. Make sure you include some of those TRVP battery wraps in your cart, they are free with order and indestructable. (I put one pack of each size in my last order.)

I'll be grabbing one of the stainless steel BB windows when they are ready and asked him about the clear borro with the "Enter the TRVP" engraving but they are gone... :( Hopefully he will make more.

A little bit of tape wouldn't hurt. I have a carbon fibre film on the back of my stainless TRVP BB plate as the originals were pulled because of possible board short.

Enjoy your latest haul, I've slowed to a stop on the shinies and actually need to sell off some unused gear, don't vape any less but stuff gathers dust.

safe distance from a black hole
Morning shinies ;)

Let us know what you think of the wasp nano mod. I love the size, curves and the purple one. Just would prefer it vw ;)

15.jpg
Ive been using it all day with different rda's.
Im very comfortable with it. I like it a lot. As comfortable and as natural to hold and use for me as the pico25 which is my favourite mod to use . It almost feels like it isn't a new toy because it feels so familiar. The vv pulse x feels clunky to me in comparison.
Im searching down deals on the other two colour options right now. I dont think I will get as lucky again price wise.
Most of the reviewer's missed listing some details about the inbuilt protections.
It has the usual, reverse battery protection, 10sec cut off, short circuit protection and low voltage protection.
Only one day in, it's a mod, it does what they say it does.
I dig the finish but not every one will. It makes a change from the usual black and silver mods I get.

The board in the tube mod is fixed in place with a screw, battery height will not change that. You only have so much room for 510 length.

The screw on the bottom is only to allow battery contact with the board.

Oh I don't think the French would allow the extradition....and anyway it's not my job to know what's compliant and what isn't :D

Yes but it'll still help to back it off :) That spring's a delicate little thing. I agree about the washers I use them all the time.

Thank you so much, @ShowMeTwice. I will watch attentively and take notes.

A question for you: You said in the DOOOOOMMMM!!!! thread (i.e., Rossum's new prep thread) that insulators and spare parts for the Russian 91% were available on FT. What are thy listed as? I couldn't find anything 91 related there.
The Russian 91% v2 is the best made clone of the Kayfun lite so any, and all, parts for the Kayfun lite (and v2) will work in the Russian. I have 8 R91% v2's and have bought many authentic SVM KFL spares and other spares. At FT you won't find it listed under "Russian", everything Kayfun related is now listed at "Lite Plus" and they used to have many items for both.

I just looked and FT is now sold out, bummer. https://www.fasttech.com/products/3052/10044031/9475300

In a way that is good because I have a much better source for replacement parts with superior machining.
Fat Daddy Vapes, I have bought much from Dennis over the years. He has quality parts made for mechs too. He and his son are great people. FatDaddyVapes.com - Home of the best vape tweaks and replacement hardware.

Shop: SHOP
Search for Russian 91% and you want this listing... I have several of these kits...

He has also been selling 510 BF parts to folks who make squonkers for years. There are many useful items on the shop page.

Another good source for parts is cremedevape. They used to carry every part for the Kayfun lite. I just looked and they no longer carry any parts, bummer.

However, you might want to consider grabbing a Kayfil tool from them. I have one and they work great with the Russian/Kayfun lite.
Crème de Vape Kayfil Tool
"A very simple solution to allow access to the coil/wick in the original Kayfun Lite Plus without the need to drain the juice. Not only does the KayfilTM tool enable easy access to the coil, it also allows quick topping up on the go."

Hope that helps...
