I don’t like the sound of that at all. With the way it’s built, when it leaks can it get to the electrics/chip? If it can, as sad as it is to say that may be a deal breaker. I found the black one for $101, “guaranteed authentic” so if I’m pulling the trigger on it it’s now. It’s just a little to high price to risk any later regrets though.
No... Don't worry Troll dragon obviously has had a bad experience. As I said before I've had zero problems and the oring fix for any possible problems is easy.... and ensures no leaking although I've never had to do it with mine.

Go for it :)

No car and no license. More business for Amazon, I guess.

I'll take a hammer to it tomorrow. @AngeNZ will be so proud of me.

Silicone mat, silicone baking/jelly/chocolate/soap mould in the kitchen? Silicone has spider-sense grip qualities, I have succeded in unscrewing the previously thought unscrewable with 2 bits of silicone bakeware... a Ninja posture and sub-human grunting are also required.

Good luck!

@YorkMan, the Ammit 25 you may like. It's an airy DTL but has good flavour, but it can be a pain to wick as it does like to form airlocks.

@Zazie, try shoving the Expromizer in the freezer overnight and then have at it with a pair of rubber gloves. Took me a few attempts to get apart.

@Dr. Seuss, leaking issue with the LV Drone can be solved using an O ring in the bottom of the 510 connector. The leak is from the bottom of the 510 connector inside the mod, first time you'll notice it is when liquid comes out from the bottom of the battery door.

Here's the Drone thread for you where we worked out the fix.

between here and there
I cannot take the dang Expromizer apart to clean it. I hate fighting with new RTAs. Pretty sure I may end up breaking the tank. Luckily, it's the plastic one, and I'd be switching it out for glass anyway.

I wonder what would happen if I let it soak in VG overnight and then just gave it a quick rinse so that I'd have a hope of getting a grip on it. Maybe enough would seep in to the o rings to make them yield to my will.

HI all,
Was doing some late night reading and happened upon @Zazie post about stubborn tanks. A pair of these may be helpful.

This is what has saved many tanks from assured destruction from me by using any metal objects to try to open them. Believe me, I have fought and conquered many a stubborn tanks during my vaping time.

I got mine from Fasttech but I seen many of the US shops have them in their accessories sections.

Buy at least 2 (below is just a sample to show you what they look like) so you can apply pressure on both top and bottom at the same time in opposite direction or sturdy one end while twisting the other. the tweezer part will probably be useless as it tends to break easily. Be sure to look at the pics as they show how to use.

Good luck.

:)

I want a lovely mech with an off switch. I love what I have, but the bottom fire is getting hard on my arthritic thumb. My favorite is ancient, a Steamship. I feel like I need a couple more, but I’m realizing what I have may not be good for me in the long run (like my Dreamer)
The Stratum Zero has 3 clicks on & off with a mosfet. Got mine at FT the clone version YFTK. Side fire button. Lots of people love it’s versatility fits 18650, 20700, 21700 & 22mm & 24mm atties. It is lightweight which some thinks translates to flimsy. But for the price, I’m really enjoying mine.

I just bought that ....... v2, and the SS MDX.

@Heartsdelight I think I found that. Thanks for the tip.

@AngeNZ I wouldn’t mind having a couple mech squonks myself. There was one mentioned here a few months back, maybe from Gear best or Source More, it was going for $7-8. I recall it came in blue but I can’t remember what it was called. Anybody?

Not sure which mech squonk you're referring to but I got one of these recently and it's super solid and well built....small but weighty though because of the brass.

I haven't tried it yet and won't get to it for a few days unfortunately.....lovely piece of kit for 22$

Before you do anything to it, try an rda.
I bought one over a year ago and couldnt use it.
The 510 threads were tapped too large.
First time i used it it was ok, but i noticed a wobble until snugged. Used a refill bottle and when i put the rda back on it got snug then kept spinning. Yep stripped, threads were just barely catching.
I managed a long drawn out repair but dont use it.
Anyway, just a heads up, i would hope they fixed it by now......

Good morning shiners! My Luna appeared on the radar. It landed in CA instead of NY. Now the wait for it to crawl across the country. It'll be so tired when it finally gets here.

@DeloresRose I believe the mech squonk you're referring to was the Geekvape Athena. Efun.top had it on sale for $7.99. You can check them but I'm pretty sure they were sold out on that clearance. I picked one up during that deal and it's a decent basic squonk. Not the prettiest or super well machined, but the 510 has been fine and the fire button has a sliding lock making it one of the few mech squonks I have pocket friendly without fear of accidental pocket fires.

That was the one. I missed out because I wasn’t doing mechs at the time.

Yep that’s the one. I also got an extra mosfet for it just in case.

Try the handle of a full size screwdriver, I feel like that would be able to give it a solid tap without causing any damage through the tshirt/towel.
What? You don't recommend a sledge hammer?

I haven't attacked it yet today. I need time to gird my loins before the next assault. I'm going to start by running it under very hot water and then giving it some taps. In other words, the same tricks one uses to open a stubborn jar.

One reason I chose the Expromizer and the Hussar to build next is that they're both on sale on Sourcemore and I wanted to find out if I like them before ordering duplicates. This experience with the Expromizer has decided me against getting another even if I end up loving it, simply because I don't want to go through this ordeal again.
