Friday coil pr0n, anyone?

lcOVRC3.jpg

Welp, I ordered some fancy coils earlier in the week and it looks like USPS has misplaced them. I'm sure they'll find them eventually but I'll have to reschedule my coil swap party. Several RDAs RSVP'd, too.

RDAs: Better flavour from the Haku venna or the Apex? I really like the deck and looks of the Apex. But I want flavour :D
I've had the Apex, Venna, Hussar v1 and two Creek's on Luna's for weeks. Those are my top four. Each delivers the flavor.

If I could only choose one between the Apex or Venna ... t h i n k i n g ... vaping each now. Hang on...

Apex for me. ------> I do have another Apex and Venna in my cart.

Yes....I have the hadaly too but haven't built it yet. I've got the NarEa, Krma, Citadel, Phenom, supersonic and the gas mods GR1. The flavour and all round relaxed draw on the Venna is still my favourite. So much so I bought three more...

So, should I buy it? Damn right you should :D
I have a Pocket, NarEA, Phenom and Krma that I have yet to mess with. Also the Unicorn RDA that came with my MDX. It's fun having gear in the wings. Bloody well right it is! ;)
And another Venna in the cart along with another Apex.

BTW, the remastered Crime Of The Century (40th anniversary deluxe edition) that came out in 2014 is awesome. CD2 is a complete concert from '75 at the Hammersmith Odeon (great). Remastering kept the dynamic range versus the trend in modern mastering to squeeze the life out of everything. It's very clean compared to my original LP or CD.

IMO everyone should have 1 Venna . . . . . . and an Apex. :w00t:

School is epic, but that is as much Supertramp as I can take.

Don't forget the Axial rda. Another winner, and one of my faves with a single large coil in it. But the Venna is still my favorite 22 mm flavor atty.

I had a love/hate relationship with my Hadaly's before I retired them. Love in the sense that with the RxW builds I put in them they were flavor monsters that could stand heads to up to heads taller than any other flavor atty out there at the time. As a DL vaper the restricted draw was not idea, but livable. But by design of their down angled AFC ports they are guaranteed leakers if you over squonked them the least little bit over what the wick could absorb. Since even 4mm RxW does not fill the mods available drip well space it was very easy to over squonk them. I hate leaks, so for me anyway they worked better dripped than squonked ( but I hated to drip atty's anymore).

You did a good deed when you steered me towards the venna.....it's my favourite flavour RDA too. And especially on the squonker.

If I had been a MTL vaper I probably would have had a bunch of Billet Boxes early on when they came out. I liked their form factor and the ever increasing ability to customize them to your hearts content. I guess now there is way more versatility available for them in atty's that might have worked for me as well, but I didn't want to go back.

The Bantam on the other hand has zero appeal to me. I don't need to stealth vape in this city, but if I did I'd dig my Donkey back out.

I've considered other SxS's, but never scored any. This one is from the first run of them... late 2013 or very early 2014, and has the battery extension (from 18350 to 18490).

If you like the Venna, there's another to check out but comes with 2 caveats. The FLVR is, from a flavor perspective as good as the Venna. BUT, here it comes. The first is typical for a clone the O rings it comes with (a "name brand" SXK) are terrible and need to be changed ( and no, I haven't yet, I like grumbling about it instead of just doing it) but second is a potential biggie for aggravation. The post screws are set very, very close to the edge of the post slot so it's almost impossible to cut you legs back enough to avoid touching the cap. The solution I found is to leave them a bit longer, then tuck them back around into the post slots which are large. There's plenty of room where they could have drilled the post holes and I can't grasp why they didn't, but they didn't.

If you get by that build quirk, the airflow is more adjustable, with 3 holes on each side you can dial down, and it's a smooth and dead quiet draw. If the build part didn't piss me off so much I'd call it an equal, but the Venna takes points on ease of build. So that's something to consider.

I have a Wick'd clone on the way and am looking forward to see how that does. It's supposed to be in the same flavor banger class as the Venna and all.

Oh, and don't forget the KRMA, another contender in that class that gets regular use.

I'll get some better landscape pics. I'm living in a basin surrounded by amazing mountains and hills.

Yep, but I'm pretty sure he's a steer (deknackered bull calf) - I'll ask him ;)
Still a boy. Ask any castrato.

I’d like to see a photo of this. So the frame is now stainless steel?
Not on the one I kind of messed up; it's silver and black. But the others will be. @charlie1465 posted some photos of his a while back.
