Thanks all on your best wishes. We know the problem, found out when was in the hospital about 6 weeks ago. It's a fairly rare problem, which is typical for this family. Nothing can ever be run of the mill. It always has to be "wow, we only read about this and now get to see it!" (which calls for an immediate change to another doc who has seen it many times and is bored with it). She has been doing OK but he's concerned her symptoms haven't improved more so time for another peek. At least it's outpatient and not in hospital like last time when she was throwing up blood, but it still means dad takes her to and from it.
@ShowMeTwice thanks for the offer! If I get lost poking my way through, I'll PM you on where to send the parts. Based on the sequence of events, I'm leaning towards it's the switch and a little orange oil wax worked its way in there. Given it's probation status, if I get in and the switch and contacts all look clean, I'll be more confident at letting it enter service. If it looks funky, I'll clean as best I can. If it looks like a wiring or board issue, I may take you up on it, as I don't have a soldering iron, and even if I did it's been a long time. I hope I can get a decent look around without having to unsolder anything because then I'll be stuck. But knowing I now have one that works makes me feel much more confident about tearing the first one down because whatever the outcome, I have the new one to vape with.
Oh, and thanks all on the LED light tip. So I know to just go by vape like any other mech/unregulated setup and not look for battery capacity with it. I sure would never vape a battery down to 3.3V. Can't see how even with my undemanding builds I would even get a puff of vapor at that voltage. The only times I've ever had a battery get below 3.5V on me have been in regulated mods. With a mech I'm done by 3.7 maybe 3.6V, and as a 7 ml bottle lasts me all day, I usually find myself pulling the battery at the end of the day for recharging at 3.8V or up. Makes for nice fast charge times even without a rapid charger.
Oh, and a question to
@classwife , or anyone else who knows, what's an affiliate code, and am I displaying true ignorance by even having to ask? The codes I gave were all from emails they sent out. Those are OK, right?
