Hi Rickie. For me, it's simply convenience and being ready. I hate looking for things when I need them, lights being one of those things. I either carry(edc) the things I use the most, or have them placed throughout the house so I don't have to look for them. Lights are a big one for me. As I have aged, I have found having a light available to be a necessity for me. Looking under a piece of furniture for a lost or hidden pet toy, waking up in the night to use the bathroom, taking the dog on an evening walk, searching the car for something lost, having a power outage and being ready for it, just needing a little more light to read something, not needing to hit the light switch every time you enter a room, seeing more detail when you're working on something small, snapping pictures that need more light, and the list goes on, but I hope this gives you an idea of why I enjoy collecting flashlights. They are useful to me on a daily basis. It's also a hobby, just like collecting knives, watches, guns, etc. I like light. The more the better. ;)
I think it's a cool and useful hobby. My brother collects flashlights and has shown me some really interesting ones over the years. He also collects knives and utilitarian gadgets. Gave me a gorgeous pocket knife before I went to college and I lost it in the dorms. I miss that thing. These days he's more into pet spiders and snakes

Cool thanks for that. I love my new headlamp from work. Bright as car headlights.

Good morning shinies and happy birthday @Opinionated ...

I went to have coffee and vape on the balcony but opted out immediately --- it was -16°C with a windchill of -28°C (or 3°F & -18°F for the Celcius challenged amongst us) and the wind was cutting right through my sweater (downright nipply out there). Probably have to put away the sandals and go with fully encased feet when I go out later (Rage rage against the dying of the warmth!).

Have a good one everybody.

Mind if I ask what that's called? I love headlamps and that looks awesome!
It’s a pro tactical head lamp that takes 18650s or 3 aaa’s. My work got them for us for the winter when it’s dark. Has 3 settings ones a strobe light that flashes and would be really annoying to look at then the other 2 are just for brightness. Even zooms in when you turn the light and fits nicely on the head. Never had one so bright it really lights up my whole back road when walking the dog.
