There is no good time to tell bad news
I was diagnosed with lung cancer. I had the biopsy last week. Got the diagnosis today.
It is what it is. I smoked for so many years.
I have to have a Pet scan next week to see if it has spread. They do not think so. They think I am stage 1.
I belong to a program 'early detection lung cancer screening" a lost dose cat scan. It was found during that. Not there in Jan 2019 but there now.
Sorry to just blurt this out.
Going out to walk my dog~

jeez I’m a bit stunned to hear this news Chanel. I do know that many people have fought off lung cancer and successfully. I don’t know where you live but please find the best hospital you can. My friend has liver cancer and drives 5 hours to Duke University Hospital which specializes in liver cancer and transplants. That’s my biggest recommendation find someplace that specializes in that type of cancer.

Who do I contact about constant gateway error messages? it’s incredibly annoying esp if I’m im the process of writing. The message often gets either double posted or not at all.

Which pin exactly Ange? I read fleetingly about it somewhere. I checked mine yesterday for liquid but it was clean.
Thinking about it, it can only be the inside top of the squonk pin. You just seal that off with silicone ?
Oh I love the colour of the mod.

Yeah, stick a blind pin rda on, pull out the pin, add sealant to the end of it, stick it back in and sealant around the pin. In the pic below the tweezers are just about to pull out the pin:

Completely forgot I ordered it in a kit, so I can't wait to build the Tobhino rda. I haven't tried the mod out yet, as I want to silicone seal the pin first.

I freaking love the firey resin colours
    It is gorgeous for sure

I'm just going to blurt out my thoughts

Sweetie, I am absolutely heartbroken that you have to go through this. If ever there was someone who has stacked up good karma points - it is you. You got the one diagnosis that we are all scared ....less about - and it's not fair that awesome, special people like yourself (and Charlie) have to deal with this horrible disease.

I am thinking of you and your daughter - and I have everything crossed - including my eyes ;) that it has been caught early enough

Thanks Ange. As the Pulmonologist explained to me, lung cancer is not the death sentence it used to be. I will know more after the pet scan. As of now we hope that removing the 1/4 of my lung that has the damn C will be the best route to go. My lung functions are great. They sent me for a lung function test this morning before giving me the news so they could make sure removal was an option. My saturation level is 97-98 and I passed the function test with flying colors. My quality of life will hardly be affected if this is the treatment I get (unless I tried to run a marathon)
My mom died of Emphysema, of which there is no cure. I am happy I do not have that.
I am a believer so prayers are always welcome. I am on egg shells until the pet scan because if it has spread the treatment plan is radiation and chemo (yuck)

Probably goes without saying, but please keep us updated if you feel you can.

Atlanta is forefront in the country in a lot of medical stuff. They have the big burn center here. The best children's hospital, etc. I feel I am in good hands. As soon as it was detected I was immediately assigned to something called the Stat Clinic. There are 10 DRs there. I am assigned 5 of them. A pulmonary DR, A Pulmonary surgeon, a Pathologist, an Oncologist and something else. They all review my files, tests etc. and confer together and that way it is not just one DR's theory or recommendation. They are fast and they had my lung function test, taken in another hospital 20 miles away, before I could drive to them.

There’s also Emory there too right? Great hospitals. I’m relieved to know you are going to get the best care available!!
