My wife works in a large hospital. A new manager in her department, nutrition services, is arriving next week after returning from a vacation in China. They still don't have any rules or protocol for dealing with this. My wife is taking Monday off.

The real consequence of this virus is that I won't have as much time to shop for shinies Monday. I hope that's the only consequence.

So has anyone ever seen a vape shop an online Vape shop send packages via Media Mail? Because my latest shipment from eightvape is being sent Media Mail which is I guess now their new standard shipping I didn't know that that was legal to do... is that something you can take advantage of as a store owner even if it's not related to Media or am I misunderstanding what Media Mail is?

Upon further reading if inspected and found not to be Media Mail it'll arrived postage due after I paid eightvape to ship it to me so now I'm responsible for paying for shipping for something I already paid someone to ship I better go check that tracking number again but I've copied and pasted it so I'm pretty sure it's right maybe they messed up.

Checked it on every site and it is indeed being sent Media Mail it was also incredibly fast processing so this is going to be anxiety ridden it won't get here till Thursday even though it's already left Las Vegas they're probably accounting for the time it'll take for the post office to inspect it and then me to fight the fact that I'm not paying for shipping twice or something either that or they've just made a damn mistake at no business should really make I don't know anything at 8 Vape that would be considered Media Mail so they shouldn't even be using that option. This is going to make me so anxious I don't want to fight with the post service but my pride will not allow me to pay shipping for something that I already paid to ship

My daughter, her partner, cat, dog and donkeys all evacuated from their home south of Canberra about 4 hours ago by the Rural Fire Service.
The bush fire was about 5km away and heading right towards their home at that time.
No updates yet. The photo below shows their house and the surrounding drought ravaged countryside with fire to the west heading their way.
Who'd think it possible a fire could traverse this terrain? The experts say otherwise.
Nervous first home owners and their dad crossing fingers for the next hours.

I’m glad they got out of there, hope their house is spared!

My thoughts on battery low voltage question.

2.0V is considered the lowest possible safe cut-off voltage for discharging any 18650 cell. Most 18650 cells cut-off at 2.5V. This 0.5V difference translates to a higher milliamp hour rating, but at expense of utility.

None of us ever take our batteries that low, most mods have a 3.4V cutoff and the better ones cut off at 3.2V. I've set my old HCigar VT75 (26650 Version) to cut off at 2.9V in eScribe which gets rid of the premature battery low flashing icon.

That’s an absolutely terrifying sight. I feel awful for them. Looking back at your house as you pull out, not knowing if there’ll be anything there when you return, just bottoms your heart out. And then the waiting, while you try and make your evac “home” feel something like “normal”. I will hold them in my thoughts and heart.

My wire order from AVS is already out for delivery! I wish they’d write a fulfillment and shipping manual for other companies lol. Hopefully the flat and I can make friends. Looking optimistically forward to the Axial/Armageddon combo rocking a bombdiggity build for the weekend

    Morning shinies ;)

Say, AngeNZ or Fredman1, you've got me really interested in flatwire coils now and I've been trying to follow posts about it. But I'm a little vague about the size (or maybe width?) of the kanthal you recommend. I've found sources for the wire but with several sizes available I'm unsure what to order. Can you suggest a typical size that you like to use? Thank you!

I'm at the lower wattage end of the scale, 20-30 watts. This post here sums up what I've tried and what works for me:
Most used size of ribbon kanthal?

see that FT have pushed back reopening until the 10th due to the current situation.

American Airlines and Delta are suspending all flights to the US on 2/5, allowing time for those already in China to get back home. I wonder what shipping companies will do? Not that packages are an issue, you're not getting sick from them, but their air crews. Will they be willing to risk their health, and/or possibly have an ill crew member return to the US?

I don't know what the UK or EU position on that will be, but it could become problematic.

I heard its the government not just ft.
They are telling people to stay home to hopefully stay well. So the new year celebration was extended.
Someone said they are already talking about pushing it more.

This is going to effect almost every electronic product. There will be delays in parts for tvs, phones, vape gear etc....

That's why they make quarantine, sucks for the crew member but better safe than sorry.

Final SXK Rivieras arrived for the vapocalypse. Yea, excited! IMHO the Haku Riviera is the perfect squonk atty; perfect airflow, fantastic flavor, easy to use and build. Led to retesting the Haku Venna which is now coupled with an Aegis squonk for out-and-about, while the Riviera rides on an Inbox V3. Life is good!

A little fun reading.... as is typical of China’s government, not much info is being shared

Not the prettiest coil I’ve built, but it’s in there! Came in at 0.45, have it at 27w (about twice what I normally run ). And look @Eskie , I remembered to split the tails ;)
So far, so good. After I get dinner cooking I’ll try a build in an rta.
