These are some sort of campanula I used to have sever varieties, lost all but these over the years

And the black ones are hollyhocks. Taller than me already which isn’t saying much, but it’s early in the year for them to be this high.

The orange ones are wild and I believe native, we call them ditch lilies.

All the way to NH they’re called Ditch Lilies.

I've got ditch lilies around the edge of my yard. They are tough plants.

There were hollyhocks by the back deck for ever. Last year I dug out a small bed and planted a bunch more in lots of different colors, with a small fence around because the dogs liked to dig them up when they first sprouted. All the new ones died. Hollyhocks always get some leaf rot in the spring but this year the leaves turned black and the plants died just as they were starting to sprout. I got one bright red flower. The only survivor was one of the original plants. Not sure if it was the heat or I didn't water them enough or just bad luck.

Columbines.
Day lilies here.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Thanks ya all for bombarding my brain. That is the reason I never remembered what is what. She'd ramble them off like a pro. By the time we made it 6 feet along the flowers I forgot what was in the first 3 feet.

Ummm, so my purple ones are what again???

I think Carli wiped out the tiger lilies last year.

Don't know if any of you play games, but you should watch this. Guy can sing, and all the music is done in a in-game mini game. You use the controller to switch chords while swiping or tapping to pick/strum. It's truly amazing.

Game is Last of Us 2 which those that see my FB posts know I'm a huge fan of.

He has a beautiful voice. ty

My favorite performance of Cohen's Hallelujah is by Jeff Buckley. This one, Hallelujah (live in Chicago).

Agreed. We need Frank, and George Carlin, about now with all that's going on. :D

And speaking of going on, What's Going On, perfect song for these times (all over again). Marvin Gaye, another great taken way too soon.
Agreed....and for me the opera great Pavarotti is needed too if only for his voice. I'll never forget the face of Bono in one of his Pavarotti and friends concerts.....just sheer awe when Pavarotti starts to sing standing next to him.

I'll never forget driving to Tuscany to see Andrea Bocelli in an open air gig near where he was born....la Spezia....just awesome :)

Ahem. My fave version--KD Lang at Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame induction of Leonard Cohen in 2006. If it doesn't break your heart, nothing will. :)

It is a few miles away. This kills me. Mt. Charleston is my favorite spot around here. The wind today is so strong, I'm hoping it dies down soon. The high wind warning expires in 5 hours. fingers crossed.
After you posted the pics I was watching KTNV's video. 10 acres to 400 in ~3hrs. Hope they're able to get it under control soon.

Good morning shinies.....bit early I'm going to try and drop off for a bit longer....

I got into opera when I met my current wife. Just suddenly realised what it was all about

Some of the cross over stuff is just awesome too but truly the traditional is the best. The crossover stuff makes you realise what singing really is.... indescribably fantastic.:)

Very powerful. Exactly, if that don't HIT ya hard, you ain't freaking human! Love it, and always/anytime KDL. TY. Her vibrato is killer/beautiful. I have it cranking very loudly through my PA, think I'm at my 4th thru.

The Colossal has always been my favourite non-squonking mod, and this just cements it

Back on topic. I love mine, too.

Do you, my dear Shinies, have any experience with Ehpro Cold Steel by any chance? Just curious. I feel like getting another mod. Or two.

Right. My favorite moment is when she steps down and bows to Cohen and he bows to her....

She also sang it at the Olympics. Different version, just as powerful. You can find it on YouTube if you want to see it.

I listened to all three versions and I can't pick a favourite  I've always loved KD's voice, and that performance was pure heart and soul

@charlie1465 I absolutely love Andrea Bocelli. Different genre, but I saw Michael Crawford perform in Christchurch over 20 years ago, and was blown away firstly from his humour and then his amazing voice

Put the white door on my p67 today. Of all my doors it's streets ahead in super fine, detailed finish. Even the back of the door is polished and smooth.Talk is that there were still parts left over that Rob hand made before he sold REOs Mods to Eric and Cindy Parlin. Maybe this was one of those

Powerful moment that...gave me the ol lump ;)

Two great artists humbly acknowledging each other's greatness.

Then I turn on the news--mediocre politicians diminishing, ridiculing and insulting their equally mediocre opponents. 24/7. God have mercy on us.
