You've got to really stuff it and then some. If the cotton sinks you get dry hits under the sunken patch....defo watch a video or to :)
I put the cotton tail in that came with it and I could not have had a smidgen more in there if I tried. Then I re-wicked it and almost instantly got a dry hit. Took it apart and did see where it had a sunken patch. Put is aside for awhile at that point. Only so many dry hits you can succumb to in one day

I go back and forth on small towns VS urban.
Burbank Ca, hometown, is inside L.A. and easy to take in all that big city life has to offer. Dallas Georgia is small, southern, run by good 'ol boys who fight against change. Still no pouring licenses allowed in Dallas Ga so no big restaurants will come anywhere near.
I feel much safer in Dallas. Can fall asleep with my front door unlocked and not worry. There are horses and donkeys within a 1/2 mile of me and it is nice to see that on my way to the store. My animals are safe even if they get outside and roam. IN Burbank, if you do not bring in your Amazon package within a few minutes of delivery, someone will steal it off the porch. Creeps are forever throwing out rat poising (for coyotes) but dogs eat it and die.
As for people...I am having a hard time currently and it seems to be cultural. IN Georgia, I find the women gossipy, petty and full of drama. IN Burbank women talk about mosquitos and Mexican food but not about each other. I need to get off the local FB page and NextDoor here in Georgia because they both enrage me
I am planning to move out to Pahrump after my lease is up. It's about 60,000 people now but covers more area than Las Vegas. It's 45 minutes NW of LV so still close to my family. With everything going on I have grown tired of living in the crowded city. Life out there ain't perfect but it is a lot more normal than it is here.
I can afford a place with a bit of land there too.

    Morning shinies ;)

The worst you can do is drown your mod, or taste ash. And knowing what you are doing doesn't eliminate these from sometimes still happening :D

Well for the drowning part I can use my Aegis solo for the rest hmm I will need to get use to get that taste on and off aye o_O.

    Good morning shinies :)

I have realised that it looks like not all 18650 batteries are quite the same hmmm size? Some look somehow fatter  and I am having trouble with a tight fit on a Fetch Pro which makes the battery latch wobble and hard to close. Bought some molicel ones and same problem, a friend here suggested the Samsung 25R or Sony VTC6 (this one has been hard to find in NZ and when I did they are dearer than the Samsung) . Help please before I end up buying even more batteries . Can anyone confirm which one will have the lesser hmm or let's say slimmer

Also so I can be once and for all a PITA which set of DYI is teh recommended one to get. Maybe @AngeNZ or @Fredman1 might know of one which might ship faster than fastech  but if needed I could order form there too if I know what

Batteries - definitely difference in sizes, I think my Molicel p26a's are the fattest, then Samsung 30q, then 25r. But I've rewrapped my 25r's so I might be wrong. This site lists the average dimension of each cell:

and you aren't a PITA, not even close. Our beloved @virm gets that title ;)(I'm kidding Virmy )

I had a look around some kiwi sites. I'd get this kit:
GeekVape DIY Mini Tool Kit V2
It's $10nz cheaper than FT and it has everything you will need except for elbow/curved tweezers, which you can get at a pharmacy
    lady-lash-13-600x600.jpg

The Gear RTA comes with 2x 3mm cotton threads, and a framed staple clapton (0.33 ohm 28+38x9+28+36 3mm N80 Coil (40 to 55W Recommended ))

For a few builds to figure out what you are doing, maybe get some ss316l 26ga (20-40watts) wire:
    SS316L Wire by Kidney Puncher
    or grab these pair of coils in a fused clapton (3mm id 28*2/36 6 wraps 0.5ohm - 30-45watts) :
N80 Prebuilt Coils by Kidney Puncher

    and some cotton:
Cotton Bacon Prime by Wick N Vape
    or
    COTN Threads

and the hardest thing about your first build is simply that you are doing something new. Watch a few YT videos on it, and find which one gives you the most info on installing a coil and wicking.

I built my first RTA by following every step the reviewer did. Once it was built, juiced up and ready to go - I vaped it, fully expecting a mod explosion or juice leaking everywhere. What happened? absolutely nothing, and it tasted frickin fantastic. I felt like I'd taken the first steps on the moon :D

Check, did homework, watched Mike Vapes. I'll wait. Not a fan of ultem anything, truth be told...

I think the only ones who have the full-sized Hastur MTL is you, me, @NolaMel and possibly Ms @Opinionated - and out of that amazing group, we are dvarwless ;)

However @ShowMeTwice also has a doggy rta or two, (2k16 SJMY I think) so he should be able to compare that to the dvarw.

Dvarv is back in the cart.

$23.50 SXK Dvarw MTL FL Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 3.5ml (22*19mm (OD*ID)) / 316 stainless steel + glass / 22mm diameter at FastTech - Free Shipping + $10.15 11PCS Replacement Airflow AFC Insert for Dvarw MTL FL 22mm RTA 11-pack at FastTech - Free Shipping

I watched some more videos and it seems that the 24 mm MTL FL has the same size building deck as the 22 mm--just the outside dimension is larger. If that's the case, I'll get the 22.

Funny thing about those clone prices (SXK)--the mod is much cheaper, but the inserts are just as expensive as the original ones.

Yeah it's ironic. Anyway I hope one of the RTAs you've chosen will be your new perfect unicorn

I wish I could just have two good toppers--one with blister-pack coils and one RTA. I don't want a unicorn. I just want simple, reliable and user-friendly. Zlide has been very good to me in the first category; so good, in fact, that I stopped rebuilding my RTAs lately. But with all those regulations and bans hanging over our heads, I had to revisit and re-evaluate my RTA stash. I have a bunch of good and reasonably good ones, but no great ones. There's always something that annoys me with every single one of them.

Sorry for the rant. I have great hopes for the Ares and some hope for the Dvarw.

Thanks again for all your (and all y'all's here) help.
