 I tried after two hours. So do I clean off the tacky glue with some alcohol wipes and start over? Is plastic cap OK? Should I try a different material if I can find the right size? Does it matter? I also have crazy glue--no LocTite.

Can't see much but that's the only possible explanation. And no ring on battery cap.

I may also visit my local vape shop and see if they can help. How stooopid can a person be. My poor battery didn't want to slide into that compartment--I really had to shove it in.
I would try cleaning off the old glue with alcohol. Warm water and Dawn may even work. ;) It's likely still not set and should be easy to remove. You could probably scrape it off with a putty knife or even a butter knife or flat blade screwdriver.

I would try applying gorilla glue directly onto the bottom of the battery along with something that has a handle so after the glue sets (24 hrs) you can crank/screw it out gorilla strength style. You should only need like a couple small drops (not much). You're probably going to toss the battery anyways.

The Solo has been able to take every 18650 I've tried. None have ever been tight in the compartment. I'm puzzled at how the battery cap silicone o-ring can even come off the cap. Mine are on tight.

You may want to order a couple battery caps direct from Geek vape. I bought a couple as spares. I bought a bunch of spare parts for my Solo's from them. They get shipments to you in about a month regular shipping.

Alternatively, if you want I can take one of my o-rings off the cap and measure it for you. I am confident The O-ring Store sells them, they have every o-ring known to man! :D

Done.

Here's what I have on hand.

Gorilla glue clear grip (clears in 3 hours) in a tube
Instant Krazy glue single-use tubes (no info on the package)
Ace All purpose super glue (full cure 24 hrs)

I can also go and get some better glue like this:

Try superglue if you have some. Loctite CA glue

Thank you. Will do.

That would be helpful, too--I'm sure my o-ring will be torn--if a I ever manege to get that battery out trashed.

Can't have too many spares. ;)

I have Gorilla super glue gel and it works on metals. Also have J-B Weld high strength 5020psi formula (2 tubes, a hardener and a steel). The LocTite I have won't do metal but I am pretty certain they make one that does. Ace, Lowes or the other big one will carry them.

With what you have I would retry the Gorilla glue or the Ace super glue. If one of those says on the package that it works with metal try that one first. Let it cure for 24hrs and then try pulling the battery.

If neither works go for the J-B Weld.

That would be helpful, too--I'm sure my o-ring will be torn--if a I ever manege to get that battery out trashed.

I will measure mine and get back to you. Right you are, we can never have enough spares. :D

 Someone at Sailing Anarchy drilled into a stuck 18650 and was able to pull it out of a headlamp. He is still alive. Don't think I would have the guts. They also suggest what you are doing with glue.

I bought 2, if that tells you anything. They are quality mods. Wattage only (no TC). Built very solidly. :D

@NolaMel, @Letitia, If my memory is any good (lol) I kind of recall one or both of you having a Detonator. Could be wrong though.

After messing around with Zazie's I do like how it looks and feels. It has a solid feel to it like their DB's. Plus being able to take a 21700 has me interested in one. It's on my list.

If you have one, have you ever had any issues with the on/off switch?
Or issues in general?
Thoughts/comments???

Ty, and I appreciate y'all!

So I am in the process of filling out a FT order for some Dvarws and Dvarw-related accessories. Has anyone on here actually had a chance to try out this one yet?
$21.31 Dvarw MTL FL Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 2/3.5/5ml(22*19mm (OD*ID)) / w/ 10*air inserts / stainless steel + glass / 22mm diameter at FastTech - Free Shipping.

I know some folks had mentioned ordering it, but I wasn't sure if anyone has actually used it.
Honestly, I don't think anyone who has ordered one from FT has theirs (here or worldwide). There are no reviews up on FT yet. Once folks there get stuff they are pretty quick to pop up reviews. :)

Sorry that took me a minute. I wanted to link them all here so it's easier for you. :)

I purchased from dicodes-usa. They're a solid company. I've ordered plenty from them over the years. Shipping is reasonable too.

I bought extra insulators for both Prime and KFL19. A couple packets of each.

For the KFL19: I grabbed 6 packs (2 ea) of the newer 6mm grub screws. A few spare fire and ice window sections. Not mandatory, but also bought another dome (4ml) and bell (2ml) caps. Along with matching fire and ice DT's for those caps. And a couple more long mode (4ml) sections. And a couple more spares kits (o-rings, screws + grub screw). Although after just looking in my Kayfun inventory I must have previously ordered some of those. Oh well, I will have many spares!

In the future I will measure and get o-rings from The O-ring Store. They let you order in low quantities compared to all other places that sell o-rings and require large numbers.

I don't remember if you have the Prime. If so here is the spares kit.

View attachment 901483Prime parts

Hope that helps. :)

I already had spares for each but felt more is better.
It helps a great deal, and I thank you very much. Tomorrow I might just copy your whole dang order.

Right.

From: Enforcement Priorities for ENDS and Other Deemed Products

This guidance document describes how we intend to prioritize our enforcement resources with regard to the marketing of certain deemed tobacco products that do not have premarket authorization.

For ENDS products marketed without FDA authorization, FDA intends to prioritize enforcement against: • Any flavored, cartridge-based ENDS product (other than a tobacco- or menthol-flavored ENDS product); • All other ENDS products for which the manufacturer has failed to take (or is failing to take) adequate measures to prevent minors’ access; and • Any ENDS product that is targeted to minors or whose marketing is likely to promote use of ENDS by minors.3 3 For purposes of this Final Guidance, FDA’s use of the term “minor” refers to individuals under the age of 21. This is consistent with the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2020 (H.R. 1865), signed into law on December 20, 2019, which included a provision amending section 906(d) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to increase the federal minimum age to purchase tobacco products from 18 to 21, and adding a provision that it is unlawful for any retailer to sell a tobacco product to any person younger than 21 years of age. In addition, FDA is working to update our regulations within 180 days, consistent with the timeline set forth in the law. Further, FDA intends to prioritize enforcement of any ENDS product that is offered for sale after September 9, 2020, and for which the manufacturer has not submitted a premarket application (or after a negative action by FDA on a timely submitted application).

But also:

FDA’s guidance documents, including this guidance, do not establish legally enforceable responsibilities. Instead, guidances describe the Agency’s current thinking on a topic and should be viewed only as recommendations, unless specific regulatory or statutory requirements are cited. The use of the word should in Agency guidances means that something is suggested or recommended, but not required.

So, in other words, who knows what's going to happen.

Flip a coin. We need a commemorative CASSA (heads) / FDA (tails) coin for the toss. I'm picking heads.
Seems about as good a way as any to settle all this. It is sure not any less scientific than what the FDA is already doing.

I'll stay out of it. I tend to lose coin tosses, so I'd probably jinx us all if I participated.
