I would try cleaning off the old glue with alcohol. Warm water and Dawn may even work.I tried after two hours.
So do I clean off the tacky glue with some alcohol wipes and start over? Is plastic cap OK? Should I try a different material if I can find the right size? Does it matter? I also have crazy glue--no LocTite.
Can't see much but that's the only possible explanation. And no ring on battery cap.
I may also visit my local vape shop and see if they can help. How stooopid can a person be. My poor battery didn't want to slide into that compartment--I really had to shove it in.![]()
I would try applying gorilla glue directly onto the bottom of the battery along with something that has a handle so after the glue sets (24 hrs) you can crank/screw it out gorilla strength style. You should only need like a couple small drops (not much). You're probably going to toss the battery anyways.
The Solo has been able to take every 18650 I've tried. None have ever been tight in the compartment. I'm puzzled at how the battery cap silicone o-ring can even come off the cap. Mine are on tight.
You may want to order a couple battery caps direct from Geek vape. I bought a couple as spares. I bought a bunch of spare parts for my Solo's from them. They get shipments to you in about a month regular shipping.
Alternatively, if you want I can take one of my o-rings off the cap and measure it for you. I am confident The O-ring Store sells them, they have every o-ring known to man!
I tried after two hours.
