Thanks, I will do some experimenting with the wicking and the wattage. I know my preference is for a cooler vape and not higher wattage. This is my first time vaping DL in awhile.
Wicking the DL FL is the same as it is for the MTL Dvarw's. See @AngeNZ's blog. :)

The Dvarw DL FL ships with a 2x2.5mm AF insert which is 3.54mm AF.

Have you considered trying one of the more closed off AF inserts??? IIRC correctly you're currently enjoying more of an airy MTL so I'm thinking you might like the 2.5mm insert. It is nice and airy. I'm not sure if FT sells any of the optional AF inserts for the DL FL.

KHW Mods sells all the inserts. They have 2.5mm, 3mm, 2x2mm=2.83mm, 2×2.5mm=3.54mm, 2x3mm=4.24mm and a blank insert for DIY drilling your own AF preference.

KHW ships super fast. My last order arrived in 3 days via DHL. When I bought my DL FL I got the 2x2mm, 3mm and 2.5mm inserts (last 2 are single hole inserts). I enjoy switching them up all the time.

Currently I have the 2.5mm insert installed with a 3mm ID 26/36 316L clapton at 0.6 ohms and for me it's perfect for a nice airy MTL to a restricted DL. I vape the DL FL all over the place with wattages, 14.5w to around 35w. I'm MTL'ing at 30w with it right now. Although I do like a good Frankenvape (MTL on a DL rba). Thanks Ange!!! :D

Oh yeah, if you want an airier vape in your Coppervape Dvarw MTL's FT sells all the AF inserts.

Is the standard AF insert on the FL and different size than the older DL?
The older DL has single hole af inserts ranging from 2.5mm to 4.5mm

Dvarw DL RTA AFC inserts – KHW mods

The DL FL has dual hole af inserts ranging from 2mm x2 to 3mm x 2

Dvarw DL FL AFC inserts – KHW mods

Some might disagree but I find the single hole af on the older DL to be a smoother vape than the dual hole af of the DL FL. On my DL clones I've tried all the sizes available and personally prefer the 3.5mm but it's up to you.

Dvarw aficionados like @Robfisher @ShowMeTwice @AngeNZ @charlie1465 and others might be able to give you more info.

EDIT just saw SMT's post!

It’s really hard to get any detail with the backlighting. And so far away. I know there’s a trick to it, but none of my bird people want to share lol. I do see them often though. Very cool birds. I bet I have 100 images of a dark silhouette with a white tail
As you know, photography is truly an art that requires much trial and error. And a whole bunch of patience. I know you have the skills to shoot some great photo's. I've seen the proof. :)

One of my favorite photographers is Christian Spencer from Brazil. His skills totally amaze me.

Another photographer whose work I love is one of our ECF members. She shared her photo's with me last year. It's her husbands instagram page but all her photo's. I fell in love with the Sony cameras then, until I checked the prices. Holy smokes!!!

Nope but it depends on how quick you want it to fire. A gradual ramp up produces a much more flavourful vape and gunks the coil up less quickly. But....with a 0.7 I would say that's perfect.....:)
This gives me hope that the Ni80 fused clapton wire I just got might work for me after all. I'm pretty sure I can handle 16-18 watts.

    Morning shinies ;)

    I am using these $3.38 Authentic Ni80 Superfine Heating Wire - 10pcs/pack / 30*2/38 AWG / 0.25mm*2/0.1mm dia. / 0.7ohm at FastTech - Free Shipping.

First time using Ni80 coils. I was running at 16-18 watts. I'm guessing that's too low?

There's no such thing as too low or too high a wattage, it's all personal preference. I'm impatient and don't like a slow ramp up, but I also prefer a cool vape. If the coil I'm using doesn't give me that, I try something else.

Just experiment with your wattage, and with your coils. Because the DL FL has 2 holes, I felt I needed a longer coil to cover it. If you have 30/38g MTL clapton wire or 28g, try a slightly spaced coil with more wraps. Or just stick your 30*2/38 coil on a rod, and add a wrap each side. If you want an even cooler vape, do the same thing with a 32*2/38 coil.

And don't worry about what the resistance ends up at. You can vape a 0.30ohm 316L 26g MTL at 15 watts and you can DL a 1.2ohm 30*2/38 ni80 at 15 watts. Or the same coils at 25-30 watts.

If you want the single hole inserts for the DL FL:
$4.43 2PCS SXK Replacement Single Hole Airflow AFC Insert for Dvarw MTL FL 24mm RTA 2-pack - 1*2.5mm/1*3.0mm at FastTech - Free Shipping

Maybe the right overcast day? (I know nothing about photography, mind.)

Speaking of birds, my mother recently introduced me to a livestream of a bird feeder in Pennsylvania, which is giving me a lot of pleasure. I have to be careful, though: the cats attack the monitor when they notice what's going on. Right now, I'm enjoying listening to the birdsong, though it confuses the cats dreadfully. They have already prowled the house looking for the tasty sources of the sounds, and now both are crouched in high alert on the table close to the monitor. Of course, that's also where they lurk when mealtime approaches, so that has something to do with it as well.

When the cats are no more, they may be my last. The only consolation will be that I'll finally be able to set up bird feeders.

Earlier I said I have always loved the sky...I have taken pictures of the sky since I got my very first camera as a kid. So years ago here at my house I saw the coolest cloud I have ever seen in the sky, and of course I took a picture of it :) it took me a bit to find it in my Dropbox. I hope you guys think it is as cool as I do! View attachment 931661
The twisty part at the bottom makes me think someone was getting ready to thread it through a coil.

Shot these sunrise photos on the beach of Lake Michigan last summer with my iPad. It doesn't have the best camera but it caught the memories. The seagulls were just starting to fly around. Carli dog just laid on a big ol rock and was pretty ho-hum about it all until I pulled her frisbee out and then it was game on. We went swimming for a bit and then hung around on the beach. Lake Michigan is a 5-10 minute drive from my house.

100% agree @Pigs! I pretty much only use the OG DL's!
