    Somewhere between here and there
I don't have a list. I mean, there are tons of possible combinations depending on what other flavors are used. It would take me forever to put a real list together with all the combinations to try. I have hundreds of flavors, not as many as Hitt (The 600+ Club) or Mel but I am certainly headed in that direction. ;)

My rule of thumb, get a mix where you want it, if it needs sweetening and/or rounding off go from there with what you have available.
And... do as some of us do, buy more flavors!!!

Just saw your post. You're welcome. Can you add that post to your blog and maybe the one about sweeteners. Or will that rock the boat too much??? How do you feel about adding a section, at the bottom of your blog, for DIY Tips and Whatnot???

    Just a thought. :)

I’ve noticed a lot of the recipes I see on chefs FB page have .5 super sweet. I often wonder if it’s really necessary.

I wonder that very same thing with recipes I see. I mean, some of them you can look at the flavors they used and you just know it would be fine minus the sweetener.

:toast: I can think of at least one youtuber that pretty much has that as his default.

Seriously . Sweetener can hide a mediocre recipe. :D

Yes, that ^^^. Cuz it mostly mutes and sweetens the crappy recipe a person created. Don't get me wrong, there is a time and place for using a sweetener. The last several years I haven't found that place with any recipe I've created.

I rarely make a recipe from ELR or any of the other places. My preference is to use those sites as reference tools only. I like to see how people are using their flavors. There are a handful of top-notch folks I follow whose recipes I'll make on occasion. And there are some really good recipes in @Zazie's blog created by ECF'ers. Frannie has several.

I enjoy making my own the most plus I learn a lot from doing so. :)

I rarely use multiple percentages of sweeteners in my mixes and I'm aware of my sweet flavours in my stash. I think the main problem is once you start getting a taste for sweetness it is addictive, much like it is in food. Always difficult to come back from.

I'm vaping six different mixxes at the mo three with added sweetness and two without. Moving between the mixxes is fine apart from one which just tastes meah after one of my sweet ones. There both custards and truth be told it isn't a very good mix and won't be repeated

As far as 'know thy flavours' is concerned I've always taken the view that I will learn from each mix and single flavour testing is not for me....too lazy and not enough time :D

I'll have a look at the video though thanks....looks useful. You've got five years on me from a DIY perspective but we're all always learning

I’ve been mixing since 1/2014. One thing for sure, as we’ve discrete often, is people taste things differently.
I like sweet in juice that’s meant to be sweet. I gave up on the Random mixing thread after being harassed every time I mentioned sweeteners. But then I also grew frustrated with certain people trying to make candy, bakery, and similar flavors complaining they were too sweet! Seriously... pie is sweet. Pie flavors are going to be sweet even if you add no SS to them.

I have juice that is not, as a food, sweet. To those I add not-sweet flavors rather than ones that lean toward the candy version of that flavor. And no SS.

But I do add SS to my bakery, not because my mix is bad or I don’t know what I’m doing. I know what I like. I make it to suit me. It makes more sense to add a few drops of what I want than 8 kinds of fruit that hint at sweet while sending my other flavors sideways. SS is a stable additive. Unlike a lot of flavors, it doesn’t fade or get weird over time. Stability is a huge thing for me.

Actually it does. It’s like adding a pinch of salt to food. You can’t taste the salt, but it does enhance the other flavors.

    HIya folks,happy weekend to everyone.

Sorry to derrail the thread, but something ''weird'' has happened these few past days.

First i gotta say,i am SUPER happy with my Juggy MR,well build, easy to wick and coil and a bit on the restricted side which i love.

    View attachment 939293

Actually contemplating getting a second one in black, got a mod in mind that would look awesome with this atty on top.

Ok so this is the question, when it comes to airflow and restrictiveness is there such thing as diminishing returns?

Previous main atty was my Hellvape Destiny RTA,when i rewick or change the coil of my Juggy MR i always keep my colossus with my destiny so i can vape while i get the job done, you know so i am not in a hurry to vape.

Anyway, these past 2 days i noticed that the Juggy MR just doesn't feel as restrictive as before.
Nothing has changed, same coil, same brand of cotton, same wicking, haven't dropped the atty so all the parameters are the same.

I even took it apart for a thorough cleaning and under a desk lamp assembled it back to make sure everything was ok...and yet it still feels a bit less restrictive.

So diminishing returns,is that a thing when it comes to airflow and restrictiveness when using an atty? like you get use to it and it feels ''different''?

Tagging @AngeNZ @Letitia and @Aliraonz because i know you folks own a Juggy MR so you might be able to shed some light on this.

Hope everyones weekend is going well :)
Personally I think you are probably just getting used to more restriction so isn't as noticeable as when new to you. Try shutting down the af or using a larger id coil.

    Morning shinies ;)

I have TFA sweetener and cap SS but not the flavourah one. I tend to use the TFA mostly.

I need to get the flavourah one I guess but they're all essentially ethyl maltol I hear??

Try FLV instead of TFA - I get blandness if I don't use sweetener with my creams, but that's my teenage taste buds showing through

This sounds weird, but I find an atty more restricted when I've wicked it tighter. Other than that, you do get used to the draw of an atty. My first days with a Dvarw DL felt different to what I was using - but now it feels normal. Same with the Axial RDA - I think it's because they have smooth draws, and I was used to rowdyness

I feel fine about it. Don't know when/if I'll have the fortitude to go back and locate useful tips from the past (@PJReid's flavor notes spring to mind), but, from here on out, I'll add things as best I can. Feel free to point me to posts that you think should be indexed (I'll mention this in the Random thread, too).

I was just going to say this. Salt, sugar, and acid all do this, in cooking and in e liquid.

    Thanks for the replies.

And yeah gotta agree, think it's a diminishing return sort of issue, just getting used to the current restriction of this atty.

But even so the Juggy MR? wow!! Miles ahead of my ol' Hellvape Destiny RTA,i am loving it.
If my translating deal goes thru i got the perfect atty to match with the Juggy MR but in black this time.

    cheers

P.S: Past midnight here, watching Ford vs Ferrari and eyeballing this bottle of Whisky my girlfriend gave, should i open it or not?

I agree wholeheartedly. There are some that are so against sweet, you almost feel like a martian mentioning it. It is one person's feelings/thoughts/methods against another. Neither is right or wrong. Neither one has the final say on what is right :)

View attachment 939289 I like the new JMK tips I got. It eliminates the need for the connection key , or screwy down thingy as it’s mostly called. I have a authentic mission tip that I use but this to me is easier with its one piece design. Best of all it works with the authentic or the sxk clone. I have one clone and checked and it works fine.
Love the panel - and fire button!

I understand what you’re saying. I like sweet and non sweet, even sour recipes. Everyone likes different things. How boring would it be if it wasn’t so. I just had a piece of turtle pie that was super sweet for dessert. I’d love a recipe that tasted like that pie.
