Yes, sourcemore hasn’t been doing well since they switched shipping companies. I checked prices on some 2S coils I use in my Abyss and the two places were within a dollar or two final price.

If you buy 5 packs of coils at FT you get an automatic 5% discount on each pack.

Honestly don't know. Put 5 of the larger packs in your cart, the discount savings shows instantly under each pack. If it's only for the smaller packs you'll have put on your math hat.

Have read FT is outshining sourcemore lately as far as shipping times. Surcemore prices are better but not much difference in final bill since FT is still offering free shipping. I don't order much these days but for now I'll probably be more likely to order from FT.

I always go to FT first when I look for something. Problem is, for some bizarre reason they don't always stock certain popular things. Like now...i'm looking to get another Aspire Mixx and a Kumo tank to go with it...but FT don't stock it

Anyone ordering and getting shipment from U.S. companies these days? I have a hankering for a Z80 kit with the Zenith 2, and the price at Sourcemore is tough. Fasttech has a better price but says will be shipped in 12 days, which we all know means you'll probably/maybe/could get it sometime in the future.

So as our American friends would say...'I went ahead' and did my little Ni 80 vs Kanthal A1 test.
I built two identical resistance coils..well sort of 0.59 on the Kanthal and 0.62 on the Ni 80.
I used two Z 80 mods as power sources.

On the flavor side of things, the Kanthal does give off a little iron taste. I forgot about that actually. I used to crave that taste back in the day when I used synthetic flavors. Since i've been doing tobacco though, it's not that detectable...but if I concentrate and go looking for it, it's there...don't work for me that much on tobacco anymore though.
The Ni don't contain enough iron to be detected, so it tastes "more neutral" (for lack of a better word).
For the ramp up test I went real scientific
I placed a tank against each ear, and fired away. Then I switched the tanks around to the other sides and fired again...did that several times....I even went into my meditative state...so I can be totally in the moment
Both times Kanthal fired first. When I draw and try to detect which is faster...after multiple fires, they seem equally fast.
All in all I think i'm a Ni 80 convert now. Purely for it's purer taste

It’s cheaper to buy the 50 pack instead of 10 five packs I think. With the coupon it came to 79.73 for 50 coils. I think that’s a good price. I just have to see if I can pry my credit card out.

Ni200 is the temp control wire. It's 99.9% pure nickel.
Nichrome(Ni80) is a very different metal - a nickel and chromium alloy which you can't use for temp control.

I really like the Blotto single. I’m guessing you’re right about customs. They are definitely backed up. My review sample from Sourcemore has been about 1.5 months and still haven’t gotten it.

Dammit...I shouldn't have done this Kanthal test. Now that I concentrated on the iron taste, all my Kanthal coils tastes like they're made of cote hanger wire
I was fine with it before I reminded myself

Damn, this Kumo is flying on newer heights with the Ni 80 coil (funny 2.5mm works way better than 3.0mm a coil in it)
