A few months ago I went outside my comfort box and bought a bunch of Wotofo and Vandy vape Ni80 premade coils.
Up until then I’ve been mainly using SS316L premade and homemade as well.

I’ve got to say that I’m really enjoying a very clean vape and a quick firing up. I’m not sur where on the firing up scale NI80 ranks but it feels faster than the SS using the same coil configuration. I know I’ve seen that somewhere but I’m not in the mood to research because it really doesn’t matter. What matters is that it feels like a fast ramp up.

They are also pretty sturdy and can take some vigorous cleaning with a metal coil brush to extend their life span.

The only problem would be that it’s not suitable for TC or “Replay” but I’ve been doing the simple Power or Watts mode lately. If I want to use TC on a certain mod, I have tons of premade SS316Ls from both AVS and Lightening Vapes before they changed their names and stock so plenty of this too.

I started out with making all my own coils from single wire to simple Clapton wire. They’re so easy to make. Most of my premade coils are some form of Clapton. I try to not get too exotic because that causes a longer ramp up time imo. And it’s annoying to me.

I’ve also used Kanthal but the taste is disgusting to me lol! So my go to setups are either Ni80 or SS316L of some type of Clapton wire - Alien, Fused, etc….

Speaking of flavor is only use rayon. The few times I used some type of organic cotton I couldn’t get the taste out of my mouth for hours  ! Lol!

What have you been using lately? And has it changed much over your vaping career?
When you say that kanthal tastes disgusting to you what is it that you would describe that taste as if you can? Because I also feel that kanthal has a strange taste and I've tried it with multiple different coils with multiple different juices and some of the juices it doesn't seem to have the same effect but with my favorite juice it tastes like old pennies smell. And I know that there shouldn't be tarnish and there shouldn't be any sort of copper taste that one would associate with pennies and there's certainly no rust on these coils and even if there was on one of them I've tried it on multiple different brands. But it has a very dank blood-like rust tang to me. And it's the strangest thing ever

I tried rayon before but didn't have much luck with it. Recently @ShowMeTwice turned me onto the Upland Silver cotton and I couldn't believe the better flavor I got with it compared to the cotton strands and organic cotton pads I had been using. It's a little pricey but worth the money.

friend I saw in an old topic on the page a discussion about the zeta aio and dotshell tanks, did you manage to compare the 2 tanks? does it work on zeta? I'm looking for a zeta compatible bridge

I'm similar to you. Started with SS316 round wire then used and loved flat wire. Tried ni80 higher gauged fused Clapton wire and I'm now a happy camper :)

I usually use SS316 and that's what I started on. But I definitely do understand the appeal of NI80 and even 90. I feel like it does have a very responsive vape and it seems to me that not only does it react faster it cools down faster that could just be my perception. I do feel as though I can tell the difference in flavor with nichrome compared to SS316 but the difference isn't obtrusive or negative in any way. Unlike kanthal which is definitely more negative experience for me

I built the Arbiter 2 in the silly hours of the morning. Hence my crappily wrapped coil:
    arbiter2-3_5id30_3.38.jpg

    It's a 3.5mm id ni80 30*3/38 coil. And it's officially the chunkiest coil I've done.

Installing was a piece of cake, I did 5mm leg height. But I think 4.5mm or 4mm may be better. Along with the fan side airflow, it's got under the coil bottom airflow. So I'll play with its legs tomorrow.

I wicked it by stuffing, cutting and poking. Initially the flavour was amazing, and then got muted. So I thinned the tails a bit and it was good to go.

It's definitely going to take me a good few days to get the best from it. That said, the flavour is fantastic. Its airflow is smooth and considering all the metal - quiet.

I should post this on the random thread...but I can't find it now.

Question plz. Has anybody used the flavorant
    Dulce de Leche from SSA?
I want to try it as a caramel...
It's very good ; my perception is a rich sweet condensed milk with soft caramel notes. Typical de leche flavor that's very good. Want to give it decent steep 3-4 weeks.

Old Pennies! That’s a PERFECT way to describe the taste of Kanthal. Gross. I started building a month into my vaping “career” and the incredible support and help I got at the time steered me towards using ss316l with rayon. Absolutely no lingering aftertaste or needing a break in period imo.

Everybody’s different though and taste is subjective but for me both the Kanthal and the cotton I used tasted off.

    Old pennies. Rusty. Great descriptions!

Have any of you guys ordered from 3fVape recently and if so can you recommend a shipping company from them to Aus/NZ?
My last order from 3F was December 2021 and was ePacket by China Post. It was fine at the time but after Fred's experience with his Delros (FT?) I'm a bit wary about China Post.
    Thanks

I would recommend asking 3f what shipping they recommend via email.

In the last few months I only did two orders with them...both boro bridges.
I used the China epacket with one, and the China registered mail with another. Both times it arrived without problems...within about a month.
Also mate...The problem I had with the Delro was through FT...with the Chinese border control.

Just tried to order a Hussar BXR clone and looks like they aren't taking Visa cards at the moment. It was fine last December (and plenty of times before). Opened a ticket of course - wonder what weird and dodgy excuse they give.

I see FT has also got it. I'll put the money down on it next month. Hopefully I won't have to pre wait to long then :D

I used the gift card option with pay pal for an order about a week ago and that worked well, if you have pay pal. I have been trying to get a spare skelro battery and it keeps saying I have to remove other items from my cart when I have none, I guess I'll have to open a ticket also.

I checked ft after my last post and noticed they had it as a "custom order". Same as pre-order I spose.
The main thing tempting me to order now is the price but it might be smarter to wait.

    Thanks @borno

EDIT - Update. Just got an email from 3F. They say their Visa "credit card channel" is being repaired (whatever that means) and will be up and running next week.
