If it didn't leak or produce dry hits I would hold off on cotton experiments, differentially gunked coils are an airflow issue. Less cotton could also make your atty leak, sweet juice on the floor - that's how you get ants.

I think the first was 2.5 as well. Next attempt will be a 3 perhaps. Awaiting permission

That was what I did with the coil today ( to the best of my current ability). I tried the spaced first because I wasn’t sure I could do it. A tight coil I know how to make. Probably should go back to 3, not 2.5? This second coil attempt vapes much smoother.
Trial and error. You'll hit your sweet spot.

seems like a big waste of cotton.there must be a thousand different ways to wick.i'm sure mine is one of a kind,do like the top layer and just cut a strip.
I’m stuck with the Ares, it has slots for the wick to sit in on the side of the deck.

I did spaced and tight both at 2.5, about the same number of wraps (I think), approximately same size strip of cotton ( came with the tank). Second coil is slightly higher ohms, but better flavor. The Ares is a decent tank... good to learn to build on, and doesn’t leak, gurgle or whistle ( all bonus points). I won’t be disappointed to have it as a backup in the vape closet by any means. I know what a person wants out of a coil/tank is really individual/ variable, so it’s been so helpful to hear all your advice. Helps me figure out where my best build will be

Now that you've found a coil you like try tweaking position. You don't need to remove the coil to tweak, just slide a post or screwdriver through the coil. You will be surprised what a difference raising/lowering or pushing in/pulling out a hair makes. Untar is spot on with his advice to only change one variable at a time Mel. That's how you know what worked.

I couldn't find an extension kit for the Battlestar, one of the first ones I took another look at.
Probably because of the notion that a higher capacity tank trades flavor. I'm not convinced that it's true but it is what it is.

Here it was mainly the dark eye and later shadowrun and earthdawn. Only know ad&d from glorious computer games like death knights of krynn and eye of the beholder.
I played Beholder! You aren't that old?

Aaah yes, first "real" game :D setting standards for more than a decade. Good multiplayer, first widely distributed cheats, aimbots but also community mods, birth of the salty gamer  getting a bfg to your face.

Nowadays they prefer walking simulators where after 30 minutes you die to a ......... who was hiding in a bush for 30 minutes.

I now have two "Squasp" setups and you're right. This is a match made in heaven.

I really like five wraps of twisted 28awg SS316L on a 7/64" (2.8mm) ID. That puts me right at about 0.40 Ohms, which hits about 50 Watts on a full charge and still cranks out about 30 at 3.2v (I never let it get there).

I put the same build in a Pulse 22 and got no better than what the Wasp did, so the Pulse is waiting for a new squonk box.
I've had a change of heart. Enough so to order another Pulse 22. To me, there's not a lot of difference flavor wise with the same build on the same device at the same battery charge. So it came down to aesthetics.

The Pulse just looks better and it doesn't whistle. I think it was @TrollDragon who first mentioned the noise factor with the Wasp but now that I'm aware of it...
