Well, I'm slightly sick and very cold here, so decided to try and wrap a coil.
No pics cause it's uglier than I am.

Wow. May have to work at this.

Remember it doesn't have to look pretty, it just has to work properly. Hope you and your whole family get better soon.

DIY E-Juice Kits

So I am thinking about this. 20% off gets it to 39.99.

Never made my own juice. Please give thoughts and maybe flavor suggestions.

Seriously considering, but don't know what I don't know....know what I mean?

I have not made a single purchase at all this year and I owe it all to the support I get from my fellow Shinyitis sufferers
All year?! Me neither. It was last year (yesterday) last time I ordered anything.

Flavors are subjective of course so go with what you think sounds good. A lot of the flavors have reviews there.

I personally like the Purilum and Real flavors as they don't usually need a large percentage. But most of the other flavors are ok too

Try DIY @jfcooley, it's really fun. People will have different opinions on starter kits, I didn't start out with one, I get syringes for free at Walmart, and I still had a few graduated cylinders laying around. If you have a decent scale, mixing by weight can be pretty easy and cut down on supplies and it's speedy.

With that said, if a kit looks like a good place to start to you, some folks have found having everything they need to hand useful.

If you are unsure on flavors, you could pick out just a few, and start there, or a sample flavoring pack. I'd probably go with flavors that seem similar to juices you like.

Or if you want to go slower on DIY mixes, I went to the DIY board and read a LOT of recipes, and the vape store to taste juices, and started with SINGLE flavor mixes that I would mix in my tank, to get a sense of what goes with what. After doing that, I was able to get a handle on flavors and am up to 3 or 4 ingredients/additive mixes (excluding flavor, where I'm a reluctant sweetener, in most of my mixes I'll use a few drops of FA Supersweet, which is sucralose. I get way less coil gunking, and I am now pretty confident in writing my own recipes which is also how I learned to cook.

Cloning a recipe you like and seeing how it turns out can be a good place to start, too.

But, if you want to go for it, I found many of the pinned threads to be super helpful in the DIY eliquid forum, and everyone is friendly and willing to help out.

I'm glad I started early in vaping, after getting my nic stash purchased and a fair number of flavors, I am saving so much money :)

Good luck with what you decide.

Maybe take it as a sign that you don't need a starter kit, but you can still DIY? LOL, this is one area where *I* am going to be your biggest enabler, LOL. I *LOVE* DIY.

Also, the husband is being so nice to me this morning, I may have to re-convert myself from an early awakener into a night owl, once again (I tend to fluctuate... I kinda figured less time together meant less arguments, but apparently I am wrong. Heh.)

Well I think a kit would be a good start. I'm going to wait, take it as a sign.

I started out by ordering crates full of equipment, most of it is in tubs in the attic now. What you really need doesn't have to cost much at all.

I could tell you how I do it if you want. But everyone does it differently so you could get a dozen different lists here.

And it's so cheap to do. Think of all the extra money you would have to buy gear you don't need.

What juices do you like that you are vaping currently? That would probably be a good place to start. You could also look at some recipes on the DIY board and see if any appeal to you, and use that to get started.

When I started, I got a bunch of "tester" sized flavors, and that helped me out a lot. Turned out there were a few I disliked, but I wasn't shocked because I read a lot of recipes and also tried flavors for a while at my local B&M. I was out maybe $6 with flavors I mistakenly thought I'd like, but I have held on to them in case I ever decide to try something super creative.

Just start small, with some flavors you are PRETTY sure you will like, and you probably won't go far wrong. I did that for MONTHS before I was ready to purchase larger amounts of flavor.... Things I knew I would use over and over again.

Best of luck, Fidola13!

between here and there
That’s a bummer cuz I’d like to buy a kit to start with. My mind works better when everything is already organized for me.
You really need to go to ELR website. Cannot link it here cause of :rules:
Look at the right upper corner of web page and click on resources. Scroll down to find discounts to lots of different diy vendors for a discount. While there you really should sign up(its free, but he does accept donations). You can keep a listing of all your flavors, cost, size of bottles etc. They have a recipe calculator that you input your recipes in and can save, etc. It is really a great site.

You will recongize all the vendors we have discussed all over ecf.

sure hope I don't get banned for this post........

:)

eta when searching for this there are a couple of hypens (-). One separating the e and L. And then one between the word starting with L and recipes.
