He's one of the reasons I borrowed it. Have vague memories of friends talking about the books, but I was into espionage books at the time.
I discovered him years ago when he was in "The Wire" on HBO. After that he did a show for BBC called "Luther" that was a well done and very gritty cops and robbers show set in London.
Btw, if you like dramas and haven't seen "The Wire" I can't recommend it enough. It's as good as anything that has been made for TV. Well, not really TV, HBO. But it was a series instead of a movie or mini-series.

I'm new to vaping and have a serious case of shinyitis...so far though I have yet to purchase a brand new vape. Only used ones. I've had the Kangertech SubVod, Kangertech Kbox mini, kangertech cupti 2(loved it once I resolved the gurgling issue), Innokin itaste mvp 3.0 and SmokJoy Air 50s(a very tiny mod). Nothing too fancy and I definitely want a new more powerful mod(most powerful I've had is 85 watts upgradable to 100 watts). I am hoping to get one once we get our tax refund but have NO idea what I want...

Then that eighth book seemed to take an eternity to choke down, so I counted it as two books
I felt the same way. At least he doesn't take years off between books unlike a certain author who has made me wait forever for the next installment of Game of Thrones.

Tell us what you do and don't like about your current gear. Attys and mods.

Yeah, luckily I didn't fall into that set of books. I have friends who think George RR Martin will pass before he finishes the next one...

Did any of you wade thru "The Wheel of Time" series of books by Robert Jordan?

I agree with them. Someone asked him on his blog a couple of years ago if he had given any thought as to who he would like to finish the books in the event of his premature passing. He went ballistic! Ranted and raved and told everyone to stop worrying about when he was going to die. Hell, I'm not worried about when he's gonna die. I just want to be able to finish the damned story

Not me...
All the odd # books were great but the even # books were so dull. Pure filler BS you had to read to keep up. Believe there were 12 books total. I much prefer trilogies. They move along nicely.

Some of his best work was non-horror, IMO. But I consider "The Stand" to be non-horror and it is still one of my all time favs by any author. Then of course there is Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption which is beautiful story.

I think the Stand is my favorite of his books :thumb:

Mine, too. I found it by mistake--on the paperbook rack in the grocery store I worked at then. Did y'all know the setting has been changed twice? The hardcover edition is set in 1980. The paperback version is set in 1985. The unabridged version is set in 1990.
