No, I don't really put them in the swamp. I put them in McDonalds green bins.

I've never heard of that til now (i did google it though).. are you sure they are authorising batteries to be placed in there? Just curious on that...

His battery is 25a..granted it'd not be pushing it for long but it'd be pushing it I would think..

however i did calculate in my head to be around 27a.. so my calculation was a little off, and I didn't figure in any voltage drop not knowing what it might be..

So, while it's not as bad as I was thinking I still see it as pushing the limits of safety.. but I definitely prefer safe.. the safer the better..

anyway.. dang on the 50a rating.. That would be nice..
I used to run coils at ,2 or a little higher. I never cared for massive wires on mechanicals. I have tried simple claptons and they took too long to heat up for me. Simple single wire coils perform better in Mechs imo. He should get better battery life as well. .16 is pretty low, right at the edge for 25r's. Since it is new to him and doesn't know things that could signal trouble I wouldnt suggest it. I remember when cloud competitions with tube mechs were a big thing people were building .08 pipe bombs all the time...

@JamesDMad try taking your batteries out of the charger positive first and slowly releasing the spring tension to avoid such beauty marks on your batteries ;)

Very cautious always when removing them as I know the spring loaded panel does have sharp edges on them.
Already re-wrapped and in the charger. Thanks again for the helpful suggestions

My DotSquonk is dead. R.I.P.
Autofire disaster, haven't taken it apart to figure out why yet, c'est la vie. May yet be repairable, but I have a gut feeling it won't be easy. Looks like a real PITA to get apart...
If you toss it, depending on color I may be interested in buying the doors. I have black & red.

Exactly. It will sag even further than just to 4.0V though under that kind of load, that's why I said he's at about the CDR of his battery. In real world terms that is.

When calculating safety for a mech it's advised NOT to take battery sag into account but to calculate with the 4.2V, which would give you the 26.25A and indicate that you might want to change your build.
Mooch is on record saying that CDR shouldn't be the build target on a mech, it should be seen as a red line not as an everyday vape comfort zone.

I wasn't taking any battery sag into account, just the drop through the Pulse and batteries don't stay at 4.2V for very long. I watched too many neck beards and their crazy 0.06 builds to get worried if a battery is pulsed an amp or three over the recommended CDR. ;) I don't use mechs as an EDC, it's a PiTA for me getting a build within a certain resistance. I'd rather build for the atty instead of the battery.

Always better to vape on the side of safety for sure!

I still shake my head at all the Cherry Bombers with MXJO or eFest batteries back in the day. Those were some seriously sketchy junk rigs and it's a wonder more people didn't get badly hurt.

Those iSwitch boards are still in beta but should be out soon! :thumb:

Thread summary. Today was slow...

We began the day discussing the joys of sweetening and enhancing tobacco flavors.

SB found that 9 hours worth of breathing just wasn't enough to satisfy - thank goodness

And the jury is still out on whether or not hangsen Australian chocolate is any good and enquiring minds do still want to know.

We discussed the pleasures of being hit in the throat and how to avoid that particular unpleasantry in the freebase nicotine category...

And of course how to avoid making pipe bombs for the newly initiated, whether or not Alex Jones is particularly sane (because picking on SB is not envogue atm) and what a lovely coil everyone who is not SB makes..

Of course there is a therion 75c (lightly used and immaculate condition) nearly up for grabs that we are drooling over..

And I don't know. . It's just a light day, none of us girls took anything off and the boys are still hopeful..

I should have put a    after that, I don't do that either.

We actually have a customer who salvages 18650's from old laptop packs and he takes all the old/bad 18650's. He has been warned about how dangerous this is, but you can't tell a Heinz Pickle nuthin'.

This recapped did not come off as that fair and balanced... Do you work for Fox News?
