@NolaMel - I personally like the Coilmaster V3 kit. I use the coil jig and use the 521 tab. Could I build without them? Yes, but why? 
The guy from Empire Vapes does the best Postman impersonation. I tried to find a vid of him doing it and had no luck. If I find one I'll send it to you.Postman tickles me to no end when he's on a roll.
I get much better battery life from my Coolfire Ultra mods (150 watts max) than from any other mod.
They are internal battery (non swappable) but small, lightweight, and not very expensive.
They last me at least 18 months before I notice the battery needing charging more often.

The MVP4 is even better as far as battery life goes, but max wattage is 100.
I needed mine when I first started but that probably has a lot to do with the fact that I have two hands with 9 thumbs and a 10th digit that doesn't work well. @NolaMel This is the one I have and wouldn't trade for the mini or plus. Perfect size for building. You don't need one and I didn't get one for a while. Glad I have it and would buy again.

I wan't to thank you again for pointing me toward that mod a couple of months back. I use it with one of my Berserkers and only charge it once a week. The fact that it was dirt cheap is an added bonus

So did I, I just stayed in cavewoman mode... I remember when Johnson Creek started up and you could finally get US made juice.
