Only a few days ago you told us you associate with the 18 year olds. Now it seems to be the 12 year olds.
Don't wanna know what it's gonna be next week but I suspect it involves diapers and a rattle

I'm too much of a scaredy cat to try something called a scorched cotton test. :)

I start low and work up until I get what I call a warning hit. First things first though--gotta get the starting resistance right. If a mod can't do that it doesn't matter much how accurate its calculation is.

You need that brachial plexus pain looked after. The neuropathy that has cost me 80% of the use of my right hand started with intense shoulder, neck and upper back pain.
Doctor apt next week. Thanks for naming it for me.
Sorry, I am not your guy, all I use is rayon. Never really developed a trust in scorch tests as I dont use cotton. Went straight from hemp to rayon.
It doesn't matter if you use cotton. I also only use rayon but the test uses cotton.
All you're doing is finding the exact TCR for the wire you're using.

Wick with fresh cotton. set temp to 420F (cotton starts to brown at 420)
start at the high end of TCR range.
slowly lower TCR setting until cotton starts to slightly brown on a 5 second dry-fire
that's the correct TCR for that wire
Rewick with fresh whatever and :vapor:

I adjust the cotton a few times to get fresh white to recheck & dial it in
Scorch test or maybe it's called a browning test IDR it's been a few years.

I use 24ga zivipf SS430 100% of the time. It's ROTM @ .00138

Agreed, but since I use thermocouples for that, I never played with the cotton test method.

@Letitia , when I tasted my flavors they were more "advanced" at a week in than just VG/DW. You may have a shot at achieving that. I'm partly starting vaping them because they are "good" now, even though I still have too much to vape. LOL. Going to make more flavors, but in smaller quantities, this time around. That's the niceness of DIY, I guess.

I didn't do much different either, as far as shaking more or anything. I'll be interested to see how you like it!

I'll know soon, did a couple 3 day SnV's. The long steep orange mixes are the real test.

Yes. For the third time. I've been organizing all my hidey spaces so that I can bomb the place with Boric Acid. ALMOST THERE. I also don't want to do it on steroids, I get over enthusiastic about things. I am VERY enthusiastic to never get bit by a recluse again. Treatment is always a pain. :)

Anna

ETA:: Fingers and toes crossed for you and your hubby, Fran. :)

There's actually a recipe you can Google for ''roach balls" where you mix the boric acid with a couple of other things and drop little blobs of it on little squares of wax paper. The balls semi-harden and you can place them all around and in cabinets.
My grandmother had me do it many many moons ago in my first college apartment.
That way the powder didn't get everywhere and I didn't have to worry about my pets getting into the powder.
Grandma was a wise ole broad, lol.

Without cheating I recognize Robert Johnson w/added witches hat, Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Buddy Guy, Willie Dixon, Sonny Boy Williamson (Rice Miller), Etta James, John Lee ......, Ella Fitzgerald (I think) and BB King.
Is that Freddy King playing lefty and where the hell is Howlin' Wolf dafuq?

Let's hope not. There's laws against that in Texas.

Is this a new thing? Just when I thought I knew all the letters lol. Might be handy as a bridge to RBAs. Not that I need one, or any more shiny stuff right now. Between all the vape stuff and replacing the pool heater Tuesday I have blown my fun money budget at least till I scrape up the cash to pay the property taxes and insurance lol.

That’s okay, too busy to shop right now, trying to beat my lawn into submission.

Nope, it's not new. It's also not recommended.
Really, at that point just make your own coils, it isn't that hard, just ask our resident jewel smith @NolaMel how the switch worked for her.
I’m learning, but before, I might have considered it.
