I'm looking at Nicotine River's site for nic salts (saw the nicotine price reduction notice) and I may bite the bullet on grabbing a DIY Kit soon, so I don't have to piece one together myself:

1. Is NR's worth it? (I plan on not selecting a Nic choice, as I have 2 liters of freebase nic already from MFS and I want 100mg, so I can mix easily... Lazy.) Is there anything in their kit that is missing that you consider "essential"?

2. I dig sweet & menthol tobaccos, methols/mints (NO wintergreen though), custards, bakery (i.e., cinnamon roll is one of my favorite types of bakery vape ), candy, some fruits (hate watermelon vapes and I can't seem to taste any strawberry in a vape for some reason o_O), and anything with caramel (i.e., Abolute Creme Brulee and the sweeter RY4s are among my favorite tobaccos), butterscotch, and vanilla, but I want to start simple and not have to buy 8 flavors to make one liquid, you know what I mean. ;) So, at NR, what are the best one-shot flavors that you've come across in that vein?

EDIT: Oops, forgot to mention that although I love chocolate, I hate it in a vape... It either tastes funky or I get nothing. :grr:

3. I realize I do need to grab some additives (sweetener, marshmallow, kiwi? and other types of additives to round out flavors), but what are the ones that are worth it for simple recipes? I'm shooting for flavors that can be one-shots or 2-3 combinations... With that in mind, what additives are the most valuable to you? Sweetener is a given, of course, but are some brands better than others or are they all pretty much the same?

4. Oh, and that Vape Wizard stuff... Is it worth the hype?

Yeah, I probably should have posted these questions in the DIY forum and probably still will, but the topics are so rampant/diverse in this thread, DIY does get discussed here, and I am still in 'shiny' mode, so here I am... :w00t:

    Morning shinies :D

    Started back at 'work' yesterday.

Work on a free range chicken farm (1800 of the lil cluckers). Cuz I'm still rehabbing the broken ankle I'm on light duties - just collecting the eggs. But its good to finally be allowed to work again after 4 months off :D

I did not start out with a kit. I think shopping around can sometimes net you better deals. I get all my syringes for free from Walmart, including the measuring blunt end stuff. I don't use gloves (anymore) and I love Nicotine River for many things, and have ordered a ton of nic salt from them and flavors, until I kind of knuckled down and got a bit disciplined about finances, the remainder of my stash of nic is from Heartland vapes.

It's kind of like coiling though, it's hard to "know" what you will need, and for chemicals and flavors, well, I just bought 2 gallons of PEG400 from them for like under $40 (plus a flavor or two for free shipping). Some stuff, they have awesome deals on.

Some people do vastly prefer that "security net" of knowing that they sort of have what they "need" but it can be less expensive (sometimes) to not go with a starter kit. I started with nic, some glass bottles (not from nic river) and a 2.5 gallon vat of VG which I OH so wish I had known it would come in one jug, I could barely lift it to pour and separate some .LOL.

So, yes, I like nic river. IDK if you need a starter kit or not? I wouldn't have used everything, probably, so I kept it a bit minimal and etc. But, I do consider nic river to be an excellent vendor.

I'd say to start, the main thing I did and am glad I did was got more flavors in smaller tester sizes. I am still using some, but I didn't buy in larger quantities until I got a handle on how my DIY experience was going to "go".

    Best of luck,

    Anna

Yes. For the third time. I've been organizing all my hidey spaces so that I can bomb the place with Boric Acid. ALMOST THERE. I also don't want to do it on steroids, I get over enthusiastic about things. I am VERY enthusiastic to never get bit by a recluse again. Treatment is always a pain. :)

ETA:: Fingers and toes crossed for you and your hubby, Fran. :)
Wow--- OMG - ---wear the suit and do protect yourself and I hope you are done with it all soon. I've shared how absolutely psycho I am about bugs --- like needing mental help psycho. I know it. We all have our crosses to bear. So picture this - I usually dress fairly nice and somewhat on the tailored side. When I clean the garage particularly ---here's my bug protection getup ----long pants---socks that the pants are tucked into and the socks go up to mid-calf. Boots. Long sleeved shirt with long fabric gloves that the sleeves are tucked into. Over that are gloves the yellow rubber ones like to wash dishes --secured with thick elastic bands. The clothing is almost all white so that I can see if there is a bug --other than the yellow outer gloves and black boots. Long hair is put up in a tight bun with a baseball cap on top.

Don't forget I am in the same climate as you so it's hot and I look absolutely hysterical but I get the job done...... I wear this same outfit when spraying outside the home and all the grass.

I prefer to straighten and spray the garage versus my so because he does not do it the way I want, however, he has to sit in a chair outside the open garage and immediately come running when I start screaming.

A few friends caught me in this getup and will never ever let me live this down --- especially when drinks are involved.

I hope you get all that stuff done soon without further incident.

Thanks, Anna! That's the kind of stuff that I need to know. I am not, by any means, attached to any particular vendor and I know that I have a lot to learn, so getting information on other retailers to consider also helps. Keep 'em comin', everyone! :)

PEG400, I saw mention of it, but know nothing about its pros/cons. Is this something to consider instead of regular PG? I don't have any allergies to VG or PG, I'm just curious. I mostly use 50/50 mixes, with the occasional proprietary high-VG mix that some pre-mixed vendors use. I want flavor, some clouds, but it's all about the flavor, and little nic hit for me.

Vapemail was good to me today. Finally received my first pulse 22bf RDA. What a great little RDA. Also got another recurve which works great atop the DNA75C Squonk. Finally got some Samsung 30Ts 21700s. A great day in all other than being tired.

The Combo and L+ are still awesome RDTA's!

I see you have one of those fancy ones... :D
Notfancy, just the Combo. Found an adapter that works for the proprietary dt. DT was the only reason it was benched. Need to redo the wicks.

Any updates on your Falcon tank @Letitia ?
Opened a ticket couple weeks ago and Tuesday emailed another inquiry, FT is still waiting on manufacturer to deliver. If still not in stock Monday I will ask for a refund and order elsewhere.

Nope, not unless you are PG sensitive. It's a derivative of PG anyway, but I think it was used more before the switch to PG, IIRC? I don't know what benefits it would really offer unless you were PG sensitive. It functions rather similarly, to the best of my knowledge.

A lot of kits come with a bunch of stuff you don't need. I bought one years ago. I used pipettes syringes measuring cups and bottles and that's about it. if it is a good deal on flavors then go for it. otherwise you can get what you need for much cheaper. I just got Flavorah Creme de Menthe in the mail. It is a mix of coffee chocolate and mint. Smells delicious! I'll let you know how it is. I mixed it with Purilum Sweet tobacco. I will try it also as a stand alone.

Good to hear! Hopefully your headaches with the PO and squonk boxes are over. Looks really nice. I have heard good things about the Pulse 80.
Gimmie a day or so with it, I'll tell you what I think.
